While most of my dance music knowledge and clubbing experiences are late 80's to late 90's, it always good to keep your ear to the ground and listen to the latest stuff which is hitting dancefloors.
While the scene has changed hugely and there now appears to be very few new quality house tracks, but lots of clever remixes of commercial pop tracks, it's refreshing to hear that there's still lots of real quality out there.
This is typified by Drew's mix sets which are always absolutely spot on.
This one is no exception.
Get on it - you know you want to!!

This one's the next in the series and brings the usual quality mixture of the most up to date current club hits and some great retro tracks mixed in as well.
In this one you'll find a mixed up Marvin Gaye- I Heard it on the Grapevine, The Doobie Brothers - Long Train Running (one of my all time faves), a great re-working of House of Pain - Jump Around, Modjo - Lady (Hear Me Tonight), a bit of Madonna and then finishing off with one of my fave Jacko tracks - Man In The Mirror.
Another top drawer mix set Drew - Keep it there fella!!!
I hope you enjoy people.

A new feature to kick off the Weekend!!!
Evening all, I hope you've all enjoyed a good week and are looking forward to the weekend!! Some time ago I did a poll asking what people would like to see more of on the blog. Most of the things which people requested are the sort of stuff I regularly post e.g. old skool, trance, classic house, Balearic, BiR type remixes etc. However, there were requests for modern current new club classics and more DJ mix sets.
Well to satisfy both these needs I'm introducing a new feature which will include a new mix set of the latest club classics every month.
Of course as with all tracks posted on the blog it will be of the highest quality and maintain the standards set so far.
Most of the tracks posted on the blog span what in my mind were the classic UK clubbing years from 1987 to 2000. In my opinion the scene in the UK died after 2000.
But despite that I'm still keen to share with you all current club music which still hits just the right spot.
So without further of a do I present to you;
one of the leading DJ's in the US club scene - Drew G!!!
I've featured some of his remixes on the blog before which were quality and all of his mix sets are top drawer also. This one features the likes of Beyonce, an amazing rework of EBTG's - Missing, a remix of Blondie - Call Me, Fire Island - There But For The Grace of God, a bit of Whitney in there and lots of other great stuff and some quality mixing to boot.
The mixes are called Signs Of The Times so here you have it!!
Please give me your feedback on this mix, good or bad!!(I'm sure it'll be good!!)
Enjoy!!

Beat, Beat, Down on Funky Beat, Beat!!
I told you to watch out for Drew G, the guy's a major talent and is producing some great remixes as well hammering out some quality sets on the US club scene.
Get a load of his remix of Adeva's - In and out of my life - this is very ruff.
Exactly the sort of track that would have gone down a treat at the likes of Vague or Paradise Factory.
Really liking this one. Are you with me on this one?? Let me know if you like it?

Hot off the press from Drew G
Here's a corking little track hot off the press from DJ Drew G
I've mentioned Drew on the blog before and he's someone you are going to hear a lot more of in the future.
The guy's an uber-talented DJ, recording artist, remixer and session guitarist and currently rocking all the top clubs in NYC and across the wider US.
He's done remix work for the likes of Ashanti, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Pink, Deborah Cox, Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, amongst others.
This is another quality remix and a really catchy track.
Also watch out for some of his remix sets which will be posted in the future.
Glee - "Don't Stop Believin'
(Drew G's Private Mix)
If anyone wants a link give me a shout, however it won't be sent until Drew's premiered the track in the clubs in Washington DC this weekend.

Introducing DJ Drew G - Future Star DJ!!!
I get an awful lot of tracks which people send to me asking for reviews, posting it on the blog and the like. To be honest the majority of them (about 90% in fact) are pretty crap and certainly not worthy of Pure Club Classic status. So when I get sent some recently from a DJ Drew G, I was thinking along those lines.
However, I thought let's have a listen before making any judegements.
Boy wasn't I glad that I did, the first track I put on was this Madonna remix and I have to say it is absolutely awesome. A really beautiful remix, which complements Madonna vocals perfectly.
See if you can spot where the sample if from??
I've since listened to a few more of Drew's remixes and they are also of a realy high quality and very versatile in style. I'll post some more in future, those which are PCC status.
Drew has a pretty strong reputation in the US for DJ-ing, remixing and producing and I guess is very much less known in the UK.
However, with his talent I'm sure you'll hear more of him in the future. To date he was produced for the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Whitney, Mariah amongst others. He is a protegee
of Peter Rauhofer and Junior Vasquez, the two leading DJs and producers in the U.S., hence quite a pedigree. For more info check out his my space http://www.myspace.com/djdrewgnyc
Here's the track. Let me know what you think?? Quality innit!!
