Bring on the cats!

A really nice dance reworking of the legendary Al Stewart track which has one of the most famous piano riffs, probably alongside Bruce Hornsby's.

This uses that great piano very effectively and adds some nice pulsing beats.

Probably not one for the purists, but I think it is very catchy and yes very commercial but still very pleasing on the ear which is what it's all about.

Enjoy!

P.S. I've no knowledge of a Jody Negro, which could well be a contrived name, but doubt it is the great man aka Dave Lee/Joey Negro.

Neal Caffrey - Year of the Cat

(Jody Negro Beach House Mix)

It's you future, you're betraying!

A cracking house track from 1995.

Nice groove, nice feel, nice piano, I'm never a fan of male vocals (with a few notable exceptions), but it is still a nice little track.

I can't help thinking it would be better with female vocals, but c'est la vie.

Decent all the same and certainly worthy of PCC status.

Zoo Experience Featuring Luca – How Do You Sleep At Night?

(Zoo Anthem Mix)

Two for the price of one!

Two for the price of one.

Two corking old skool tracks from 1991 on a double A white label, both are killer tracks which would smash up any decent club dancefloor.

These two should have been much bigger as they are both really great tracks, filled with banging piano and perfect to create total dancefloor delirium.

I don't particular remember hearing them played out back int'day but know they would still go down a storm.

Any young DJs out there who are looking for a unique track send their crown wild, look no further.

Compulsion has some really spellbinding piano, but don't overlook Razor Happy which is also razor sharp!.

Get on it!

Zenana ‎– Compulsion

Zenana - Razor Happy

Follow your smile up to the moon!

There is no finer moment in dance music than hearing the wonderful ethereal vocals of the uber talented Ms Martin against a great club remix which has lots of builds, drops and awesome piano.

Billie's voice has captivated me every since I first heard her early Electribe 101 tracks.

This track is just epic courtesy of a great Diggers remix, very BT-esque!

Just delightful - dare I say it "music to my ears"

And there's nothing left to say!

Another barnstorming remix from the genius that is Eric Millar (aka E-Smoove).

His remixes are always so on point and filled with great piano which complements the great house sound.

This one just rocks from start to finish.

I love the last 2 minutes also as it gets even funkier and just vibes.

And there's nothing left to say!

Total - Can't You See

(E-Smoove's Funky Piano Mix)

Tyree Cooper, the producer, awesome super duper trooper!

Love this proper old skool going back, way back to the early days of house music in 1988.

I guess this is probably more Hip-House which is another genre that I love.

I was never a fan of Hip-Hop, but Hip-House now that is so much better.

This is fierce, fiery and has some great rapping from Kool Rock Steady.

Fast Eddie on the mix to add that quality house sound and some great scratching.

Corking!

Hip-House.

Tyree featuring Kool Rock Steady – Turn Up The Bass

(Scratch It Up Mix)

Right on sister!

Another absolute corker from 1991.

This was so underrated and underplayed it's untrue.

This should have been massive.

A really unique and timeless track and has such a great variety to it and keeps you fully engrossed from start to finish.

It has ambient bits, hands in the air parts, fierce break beat bits, lush vocals, crunchy beats, slammin' rhythms, great piano, it's got the lot!

Get on it!

Just Add Water - Mystic Sister

(The Goddess Is Coming)

Don't fight the feeling!

Totally love this track and always have done and one I'm surprised I've not posted before now.

It dates back to 1979 and still sounds amazing.

Outstanding production, great vocals, amazing instruments and just that great disco groove, topped off with great sax and piano.

There have been many remixes and re-worked versions of this, but for me the original is still far and away the best.

This would still go down a treat at any decent club night.

Eternal quality.

Don't fight the feeling!

John Davis & The Monster Orchestra - Love Magic

(12" Club Mix)

I can feel it in the air tonight!

Cracking new track which I've been playing regularly over the last few weeks.

First heard it on Parky's great radio show.

I'd go as far as to say it is one of the best tracks of 2026 to date.

Great vocals, great piano and a lovely uplifting vibe.

This will be big this year, take my word for it!

Just can't believe it!

Odyssey Inc. - Get Back To You

I'm the man with the vision!

Absolute stormer of a track.

Why the hell wasn't this bigger, it's a real belter.

You can feel the Chris Day influence all over this, as it has many of the characteristics that made all his Chris and James remixes so epic.

Big piano breakdowns, great vocal build ups, key changes, tempo changes it's all there.

Just a different class.

I loved all his Delorme work - proper Legend!

Peace come, peace come, one man with man with a mission!

Prophecy  Featuring Africa True - The Vision

(Delorme Mix)

Dream on!

Robert Miles will always be known for this track "Children" which although terribly overplayed and now deemed very commercial was pretty ground breaking at the time back in 1995.

This is very similar but was less played and certainly less well known but has a nice feel and flow with many of the same characteristics of Children, but feels easier to listen to and fresher.

The whole dream music scene which was created had lots of similar tracks, that still sound great 30 years on.

Enjoy.

Robert Miles - Fable

To take time that I can move!

Talk about hidden gem.

I'd totally forgot about this one, but it's no real surprise that it is such a corker when you consider that it combines the remix and music talents of Tin Tin Out and Tall Paul.

Most certainly Good Fello's.

This is a lively throbbing piano corker which jsut gets better the longer it goes on and then further explodes with an avalance of piano.

Just a top top track.

To take time that I can move! Passion!

Love it!

Good Fello's - Do What U Like

(Vocal Mix)

Al I want to do is, do it!

A corking trance track which was a huge Oakey track back int' day and later became immortalised from the hilarious but very credible Kevin & Perry film.

It's hard not to listen to it now without thinking "all I want to do is do it".

That shouldn't however detract from the epic nature of this track and is just a piece of trance brilliance.

It has one of the all time great piano breakdowns, which always sounds amazing!

Sit, back, relax and enjoy or even better get up and dance!

Y-Traxx Mystery Land

(Sickboy's Courtyard Mix)

I'm already lost in the groove!

This one was always going to be a great collab.

Róisín is one of the best female vocalists of recent times and Paul Woodhead loves a banging piano remix, hence the outcome is a great track with a great vibe and pretty fierce at the same time.

I bet this sounded great in a club with the volume jacked up.

I'm already lost in the groove!

Róisín Murphy - Shellfish Mademoiselle
(Paul Woolford Club Mix)

Father help me please!

Always loved this track from 1993.

It was just a great groove with some great lyrics and really funky house vibe and some great piano.

It always went down well and still sounds great 30 plus years on.

I love it when the piano kicks back in towards the end of the track.

Romanthony was a great talent and had a similar vocal style to Prince.

Tony Humphries was always great on the remix and was one of the original house legends.

Classic house music with timeless qualities.

Father help me please!

Romanthony - Falling From Grace

(Tonys Main Mix)

We're all dancing on a thin line!

I'd delved into a few real oldies with my last 3 posts which had an accumulative age of about 130 years dance history.

This one is quite a bit more recent but still coming in at over 30 years old.

Still sounds great though and was one of those tracks from that era that drew on many great samples and hooks and put them altogether to create a great track.

Great piano hook from "Sound Factory's Good Time" which has been posted on the blog previously  and of course the even more well known Lisa Stansfield vocal sample.

A cracking exciting little underplayed gem!

Waveshape - Goodtime

(Face Mix)

I've been thinking about what you've done to me!

A fantastic track which is a feature of many Balearic mix sets.

This one is over 50 years old and always sounds great.

Super chilled with some great vocals which have been sampled many times, some great guitar chords and some great saxophone.

Just an all time classic.

I've been thinking about what you've done to me!

Stretch – Why Did You Do It

(One Two Jazz Mix)

Keep it comin'!

I'm spoiling you today.

Here;s another fabulous oldie, but totally goldie.

This one dates back to 1978 and hence it nearly 50 years, but again sounds fabulous.

It's all down to some superb production, wonderful instruement arrnagements and of course some fabulous vocals.

Just another timeless which will always sound amazing.

Enjoy!

The Pointer Sisters - Happiness

(12" Version)

For you I will stand tall!

Such a fabulous track and an amazing vocal performance.

This may well be 40 years old, but it has lost none of it's spendour.

Just such a well produced track and one which will always be timeless.

When they are this good they stay good forever!

Joyce Sims – (You Are My) All And All

Saturday, 4 April 2026

Let's just say our love is right!

Stone cold classic from 1989 which still sounds superb.

Cathy Dennis was a real talent and a great vocalist.

This track is great, a touch commercial but very endearing and with some great percussion and piano.

A really well produced track which was a real banger back in the day!

D Mob Feat. Cathy Dennis - C'mon and Get My Love

(Dance Hall Mix)

She wants to give it!

One of Michael's less played tracks put a superb one and great remix.

People seem to have forgot about the genius of Michael, but he was one of the greatest music icons of any generation up there with Elvis, The Beatles, it's a shame his legacy hasn't quite pulled through in the same way.

This track is just splendid with a great remix by Tommy Musto and some great piano.

Classic MJ - very sadly missed - but legendary status eternal!

Michael Jackson - In the Closet

(Club Mix)

Follow the rainbow!

One of those tracks which is a bit of a guilty pleasure.

From 1994 this is a track which really bangs and has some epic moments.

A real quality piece of hard techno from Belgium which stills sound pretty unique today.

This should have been a lot bigger than it was.

What's not to like!

Meridian Orchestra - Rainbow Colours

(Overture)

Cause, you're the only one!

In my opinion she was always the most talented/only talented Spice Girl.

She always had a strong vocal and great that she is now DJing, although I can't profess I've ever heard any of her sets, so I can't really comment on her DJ skills or track selection.

This is a pretty epic track though courtesy another fine Hex Hector remix.

That guy really new how to create a banging 10 minute remix.

This brings Mel's vocals out superbly and provides a banging floor filler.

Melanie C - I Turn To You

(Hex Hector Club Mix)

One of the best!

One of the truly great tracks of it's time courtesy of the legendary Pete Namlook and still sounding amazing today.
This was right at the forefront of the progressive house scene way back in 1993 and could also be classed as one of the very first and finest trance tracks.
The track was produced by the genius of

The Northern Mix is a little slower in tempo than the Southern Mix and is my favourite of the two.

However, it was the Southern Mix which really brought this track to prominence as it was a key part of Oakey's trailblazing Goa Mix.

In fairness both remixes are amazing, pounding, banging, throbbing and with that catchy little whistling hookline.

In one work - immense!

It was of course much copied and sampled most notably by Kaycee - Escape later in the 90's but it was never a patch on the original.

There was also a decent remix by Signum which I've included.

4 great tracks all PCCs - Enjoy!

4Voice - Eternal Spirit
(Northern Mix)

4Voice - Eternal Spirit
(Southern Mix)

Kay Cee - Escape
(Escape Club Mix)

Kay Cee - Escape 2
(Signum Remix)

That's just the way it is!

Used to love this with a really clever use of the Bruce Hornsby sample.

This was way back in 1991 many years before Tupac's version.

This version couldn't get the sample cleared and hence it was never as big as it should have been.

I used to love MC Buzz B who was a superb talent and should have been much bigger.

Maybe if the sample had been cleared he may have been.

We will never know!

"That's just the way it is!"

Superb track though which still sounds amazing 35 years on!

MC Buzz B - Never Change

(Original Promo Mix)

So come on, come on in!

Loving this which is new and recently heard on Parky's great radio show.

It's very Jamie Principle-esque and could be easily be mistaken for the great man.

Yes, it's that good.

Very suggestive, very camp, but very very catchy and enticing!

Great track, very 1988.

So come on, come on in!

Boys' Shorts feat. Michael Cignarale - Come
