A quality track from 1994 and another that never got played out in the clubs as much as it should have.

This should have been a lot bigger.

No surprise to know that Stonebridge were behind this remix which probably explains the bouncy piano vibe, which goes down a treat when combined with Sabrina's classy vocals.

Nice little remix from Stonebridge maintaining their par excellence quality.

A great little number to dance to, not the most anthemic, but just the sort of track which was great to boogie and vibe to.

Nineteen-ninety-five was quite an incredible year for Billie Ray Martin, whose club anthem ‘Your Loving Arms’ scaled the upper echelons of both the UK and US charts, helped in no small measure by spellbinding remixes from Brothers In Rhythm, Roger Sanchez and The Grid. The follow-up singles failed to emulate their predecessor’s commercial success, yet ‘Running around Town’ and ‘Imitation of Life’ wrought similar dance-floor damage. ‘Sky High’ originated on the Italian imprint Bustin’ Loose in 1994, and was picked up some eighteenth months later by Sound of Ministry for a UK release. Unlike the ‘Deadline For My Memories’ singles, which by and large were epic and progressive in equal measure, ‘Sky High’ is a more straight-forward vocal house affair as reworked by two of the foremost exponents of the genre, namely Stonebridge and Satoshi Tomiie, respectively. Interestingly, BRM had to put out this track in a pseudonymous manner, owing to legal wrangling between the Magnet and Sound of Ministry labels. The picture is representative of some 'sky high' petrol prices, an outrage with which we can all identify.

Stay off the Bolivian marching powder kids, it's not big and it's not clever.
This is a great track though and unlike many on the blog, very recent.
This was released in 2008 and has a cracking Stonebridge remix.
They really do produce some superb remixes.
Love the vocals in this as well, really good.
The piano at the end is lush, as well.
Great track!!!

Another fantastic remix from Stonebridge accompanied by another excellent vocal performance from the uber-talented Ms Bedingfield.
She's really got a great voice and it's superb for dance music when remixed this well.
All in all another top notch track, which keeps a great balance between dancefloor friendly yet keeping those great vocals intact.
Quality indeed.

Let's see that Inner Smile!!!

I always thought that Texas produced some really great tracks, (although not for the dancefloor).
However, when given a reworking by Stonebridge this track becomes a pure quality dance anthem.
It just uses the basic riff of the track loops in some great piano complimented with snippets of Sharleen's great vocals.
This dates back to 2000 and see the second Texas post on the blog.

Another fantastic club classic, which was massive back in 1994.

The big mix that was the main one played in the clubs was the Stonebridge Mix, which was quitely simply a classic piece of house music. Widely played at the Hac, Basics and to be honest virtually any decent club that you went into at that time.

However, the memories for me are it being played at the Hacienda by the legend that is Mr Graeme Park. I have such fantastic memories of that place and it was always the best place to go if you wanted to hear the finest house music out there.

I've also posted the T-empo mix, that IMHO doesn't quite match up to the Stonebridge Mix, which is surprising as most of their mixes were superb.

Also check out the D.O.N.S. remix which is a very recent (2007) version and is really very good indeed, keeping the quality feel of the original, but punching it up a bit. Love the alarm clock at the beginning and the real bite that the track has, very current, but still very good.
