A great hardcore track from back in 1993.

Following a very united rave scene in the late 80s and then a period of old skool piano classics in 1990 and 1991 at places (Up North) like Shelleys, Angels, Zone, KAOS and Ark events, by the back end of 1992 and 1993 the scene split into 2 very different scenes;

1) The dressed up house clubs typified by the likes of Back to Basics, Cream, Hacienda, Renaissance etc 

or

2) The hardcore scene 

I very much chose the dressed up house scene and never really ventured into the Hardcore scene, although I did enjoy a night at Doncaster Warehouse in 1992 once.

This track is very much from the hardcore scene and is a track which although a bit cheesy is also great and thoroughly PCC worthy.

Not much original about it, but very enjoyable.

This is new and pretty good.

As soon as you see that name Dr Packer you know that it is synonimous with very fine house music.

A great gentle groove, some nice vocals and a some nice piano.

Another off the Fools Paradise label is also pretty much on point!

Absolue corker of a mash up/remix.

I always loved Gabrielle, her vocals were immense and she was a real breathe of fresh air when she arrived on the scene in the late 80's.

Matt Darey was always at the pinnacle of the early days of progressive and trance and has created many sublime tracks and remixes, many of which adorn the PCC blog.

This is another cracker.

It's been so long!

Sometimes you just hear a track and you immediately think "oh yes, I like this".

This is one of those tracks.

It's quite hard to describe, but this track just has a great aura and feel to it.

One that just keeps you enticed throughout the track.

It never really peaks, but just keeps you nicely entertained from start to finish.

Love this a new track heard on Parky's superb radio show this week.

This has a great atmosphere and a superb vibrant feel.

Quite similar in style to the tracks which Robyn used to put out, hence not out and out dance, but just groovy melodic dance music.

Really surprised that I haven't posted this one before now.

Certainly an oversight and maybe it was because it was a tad overplayed.

Anyway well overdue a post, this was a huge track back in 1993 and was always superb on the dancefloor.

I've spoiling you here with 3 superb versions to choose from.

The original Victor Simonelli version which is excellent.

A superb remix from those Nush boys who always knew how to spice up a track and add layers of fantastic piano.

Then there's a newer version from 2022 from Odyssey Inc. which is also pretty corkin'.

If I had to choose one I think the Nush version just shades it for their lush piano.

The vocals are always spot on and there's loads of piano thrown in.

This is real quality house music which is perfect for the dancefloor.

The salsa sound of summer!

Another great new track from Parky's radio show.

It is full of trumpets, guitar and funky synths which give a great summer latino/salsa vibe, but for me it's all about the tempo change at 2.50.

From that moment the track reaches another level and just oozes euphoria.

Another track which if used effectively could be devastating on the dancefloor.

A real little beauty this one, very nice indeed!

A track that's been around a good few years now, but always sounds great.

Dennis Ferrer is always a symbol of top quality house tracks.

This is piano-tastic from the get-go.

It contains lots of great synth noises and some good vocal chants, backed with a first beat and then the pounding piano breaks and it makes a hell of a track.

Another one which would be superb on the dancefloor and I'm sure would get some great crowd reaction.

Been chasing this one for a few weeks now after hearing it on Parky's superb radio show.

Just love the simplicity yet the effectiveness of this track.

Top notch from start to finish with some great energetic piano that builds and rocks.

Simple, but oh so effective, just lovely!

No vocals with this one, but in this instance none required.

It's no swindle!

Just to be alive is a natural high!

Staying on the classy house vibe, here's another underrated classic.

A big track championed by Tony Humphries it's class still shines through.

Another track with great lyrics, great vocals and great piano.

A key focus of the PCC blog was always to champion great dance music new or old and this is another quality piece.

Another track which would still go down a storm today.

A definite Natural High!

Whenever you hear the name Michael Gray you just know it's going to be quality.

He's been around the scent for several decades producing fantastic house music under his various guises, as Greed, Hustlers Convention, Full Intention.

This is yet another piece of classy house music from Mr Gray.

It's been around a good 12 months or so, but feels very fresh.

This one has been in my "to post" folder for ages, but one I'd not got round to.

A quality bit of old skool with some great piano from 1993.

A proper hands in the air old piano classic and I must say underplayed and underrated little gem.

I don't ever remember it played out but it may well of been.

A proper little banger though, so do enjoy!

Interesting little fact about this one, it was recorded on a Sunday morning in 1993 after an all-nighter at Bowlers Trafford Park Manchester.

Had many a cracking night at Bowlers back int'day - proper old skool!

Super house remix from Danny Tenaglia, right up there with his best.

The original version is a classic Disco track from 1978.

However, Danny's superb remix from 1994 transforms it into an absolute house classic.

A belter of a track and one which definitely slipped a bit under the radar, as it was widely played in the clubs and should have been much bigger.

A real hidden gem this one.

Respect to two music legends!

Manchester vibes in the place (although more on the Balearic tip, than club dance)!

A superb track which encapsulates the Manchester and later Madchester scene which we were so very much part of.

The clubs, the bands, the songs, the fashion, the clothes, the attitude, were such a huge part of my teenage years and early 20's.

The music lives on and still stands the test of time.

This is an amazing tribute to the late Tony Wilson, TV presenter, king pin of the Hacienda and at the forefront of the Manchester music scene in the 80's and 90's. Heady times indeed.

A great tribute by all those in the video and effectively using the magnificent New Order track Your Silent Face.

A great remix by the legend Andy Weatherall, with some amazing strings.

R.I.P Tony and Andy.

I couldn't resist also posting the amazing New Order track which inspired this record, as it was always one of my faves growing up.

Quality piece of classy house music from 1993.

A big track at Hard Times which was one of the leading house nights in the North back int'day.

Had many a good night there, both in the Mirfield venue and also in the church venue in Huddersfield.

The track comes courtesy of a great Ralphie Rosario remix and is pure classic house with a great groove and some stonking piano.

Top notch house music.

Got to find out if there is peace in other places!

It was with great sadness that music lost one of it's true legends this week.

Dolly was everything to music, not only one of the greatest country singers, she also transferred her amazing vocals to the pop world and even to the dance world.

Universally loved by everyone for her persona and sweet image, she will be sadly missed by all music fans.

I've already posted her most epic dance track the amazing Peace Train with a sensational Junior Vasquez remix which is out of this world.

This is a great club remix of one of her most famous tracks.

Love this which is new but old at the same time.

As soon as you see the name Dave Lee aka Joey Negro, you just know two things, firstly it will be a super quality production and secondly it will be Disco-ified with a new modern twist.

The man is a Disco/House legend and his longevity combined with his prolific production cadence stand him on the very top step of dance music royalty.

The track combines a great rap with some delightful disco rhythms and sounds.

Right on, as always!

Uber-talented!

I don't feel that J.Lo ever really got the credit for what she achieved as a pop star.

All her songs were top notch and when remixed they were real dancefloor bangers and this one is exactly that.

Great remix by Thunderpuss, but also a great vocal performance by the delightful Ms Lopez.

I'll put it out there that Jennifer is the greatest pop star/actress (e.g. reached the absolute pinnacle of both careers) there has ever been.

Great vocals, great production and of course great piano.

Also some great lyrics, even pinching a few lines out of "I Will Survive".

There were lots of remixes of this one, but nothing touched this version.

Still sounds great today and would still rock any club dancefloor.

Staying on the Jaakko Eino Kalevi front, this is new and pretty sensational.

Everything Prins Thomas touches is just magic and he is certainly one of the hottest remixers out there at the moment.

His remixes are just so classy and well produced.

This is another great track, with such a great aura.

I could imagine this being fantastic as a track early in a set to build on.

Glorious, dance music at it's finest.

This will be huge in Ibiza this year guaranteed.

The track features the huge vocal prowess of the great Kathy Sledge (also of Sister Sledge fame) and the fiercest bit of piano you are likely to hear.

This will literally blow the roof off and is a track I'd love to hear in a good club.

It's not a patch on Parky's original remix from 1992 which was a huge fave of ours and massive at the Hac back int'day.

It is however certainly worth a post as the track in itself is such a great one.

This remix is much slower and laidback than Parky's and doesn't have that same fizz and excitement, it is however still a very good track worthy of PCC status.

Cracking track from 1991 which was a regular feature of Sasha's sets when he was the man back in the early 90's.

I never really enjoyed Gloria Estefan's tracks, but this remix really cuts it.

I think it is the additional element of the piano alongside the crunchy house beats.

The rest is ok and Gloria's vocals are always strong.

A nice blast from the past though.

Great builds and energetic sequences create a pretty spanking tune.

For those of you like me who used to adore Where Love Lies, but then started to dislike it as it became so overplayed that it became tedious and that was before the Jon Lewis advert.

Well fear not, if you felt that way grab a piece of this.

It is exquisite and gives Where Loves Life new life, a completely different feel and yet keeps all the superb bits, speeds them up a little at times from a beautiful slow build up but just creates a feel that I haven't felt for this track since it's hey day when it was first released back in 1990.

Quite simply one of the finest reworkings in house history - yes that epic.

Pure class from 1996, still sounding amazing 30 years on.

Great to see Oakey still at it.

This is new and is pretty spanking.

Fast paced, energetic and enough to send you into orbit.

Oakey has always been at the cutting edge of new dance music and I sometimes feel he is less acknowledged than people like Sasha (who has a God-like status) which I feel is much more appropriate to Oakey.

Oakey was there at the very beginning and was largely responsible for the Acid House boom which created club culture as we knew to love it.

Respect - he will always be recognised as a one of the true GOATs in my mind!

Always got a soft spot for Erasure.

They were one of the bands which I totally loved as a young teen and their sound and consistency was always super impressive.

Anything Vince Clarke ever touched just pure gold whether for Depeche, Yazoo, The Assembly or of course Erasure.

The Clarke-Bell collaborations were always magic with Andy's great vocal prowess and Vince's technical genius.

This track just epitomises the Erasure quality coupled with a great 7th Heaven and you have a great pop track with just enough club vibe to sneak it into PCC status.

Simply divine!

One of BT's finest moments.

This track for me captured all his musical talents, some spine tingling piano, some great bird noises and aural sound effects which just took you on a building trance journey.

Possibly not as dancefloor friendly as some tracks, but it was very nicely produced.

It was also pretty trailblazing at that time in 1995 and certainly captured Sasha's attention who was deeply inspired by BT.

The piano breakdown from 7 mins 53 secs in is just heavenly and simple divine!

Friends come and friends they go!

Never need an excuse to post a Janet track and certainly never need an excuse to post anything Steve Anderson has touched.

This is one of Janet's lesser known tracks from 1990, but it gets the Steve A treatment laden with great piano.

Janet's great vocals and the energetic upbeat tempo coupled with Steve's remixing genius create a fine little track and certainly one which should have had more club exposure.

A bit of a forgotten gem this one.

Totally loved Paris Angels back in the day and was convinced they were going to be the next big thing, but alas it didn't turn out.

I've still got all their EP's on vinyl and just loved their vibe.

More indie dance than prime club music, but pure class all the same.

Part of the Madchester vibe at the time and musically (almost) on a par with The Roses (well maybe The La's).

The track was some wonderful ethereal vocals and a fizzing electro vibe, with some lush jangly guitar.

Also a favourite of Chris and James I believe and played in some of their sets.

Still sounds amazing 35 years on!

Just really smooth classic house grooves, that just float along.

This is a fabulous track which first caught my ear a few weeks back when first heard on Parky's great radio show.

It's subtle, steady, builds gradually but features some lovely moments.

Talked rap kind of rhymes against some lush piano chords creating a Massive Attack type vibe.

Very nice and chilled for Summer.

Would go down a treat at Cafe Del Mar!

Another great Jamiroquai track, with a fine Paul Rincon remix.

Jay Kay was a real unique talent and such a breath of fresh air when he arrived on the scene in the early 90's.

Some of his tracks were dancefloor gold when remixed and this is a good one.

He always had good lyrics to support his great vocals and his funky vibe.

Another great track from Verdo.

What I love about this guy, is that he produces music which is just what I want to hear.

Most notably, great dance music with fantastic piano breakdowns. 

He is one of most refreshing artists to come onto the scene for many years and I hope he becomes huge.

His style is very reminiscent of the old skool type tracks from the early 90s when everything piano was heavenly.

That's 4 corking tracks which are up their with anything else I've heard produced in recent years.

This is one of the fundamental reasons I've continued with my blog for so many years, it's coming across tracks which just hit you and immediately give you that sense of euphoria that great dance music is all about.

This is quite simply another piano laden banger.

Just love Verdo's productions, they are just so smooth and engrossing.

Gorgeous laid back trance which just soothes the soul.

Always laden with subtle yet so effective piano, they are things of exquisite beauty.

As with the two tracks already posted this is another absolute piece of musical magic.

Surprised this is the first Drizabone track posted and also surprised I've posted so few Nush productions.

Nush were always epic and pretty much everything they touched was piano tinged gold.

This is no exception combining Drizabone's great vocals with some lush piano chords to make a great house classic.

The track first came out in 1991, but this remix was a few years later in 1995.

I always enjoyed this track and glad to hear that it still sounds so good after all these years on.

Although not a big fan of Sasha's DJ musical style post 94/95 prior to that he was one of the GOATs.

I found his DJ sets post 1995 just plain boring and could never understand the adulation and following he got. 

In my opinion he just played long boring spacey tracks which although ok, never really peaked or reached the heights of many other DJs of that era.

My memories of him from the early 90's will always be the ones I cherish.

A bit about these remix, fizzing, energetic, exciting and one of his best, post 95, so get on it!

Beyoncé's vocals are just so great on house remixes and there is nobody better in the business than the Freemasons to convert good pop tracks into superb dancefloor bangers.

This uses all the usual Freemasons charms and formula and creates yet another piece of superb dance friendly fodder.

Fast paced, layered with piano and using the fabulous Beyoncé vocals to great effect.

This one didn't have as much floor time as it should have, as it's a corking old skool track.

A nice catchy rhythm, some nice female vocals and a real funky groove and some nice piano.

Now this one is special.

An absolute corker of a track and almost as good as the amazing Blind Faith, which is right up there as one of my all time faves and was posted on the PCC blog back in 2009.

This is just a slice of sublime dance music.

I love everything about the track, the vocals, the vibrancy, the originality, the piano is off the charts and the whole production is just spot on.

A true hidden gem and a track which should have been massive.

If in any doubt drop it in any of your sets and you'll get a great crowd reaction.

If you ever see the title Delorme you always know it is a brand of quality, usually because it has a Chris Day involvement.

This has his signature style all over it and he does a great job of transforming a pretty standard track into a really banger.

Lots of great builds, great bits of piano and some delightful key changes.

This was a track which was really big in clubs back in the day and was always one that was popular with a lot of top jocks.

Always sounded good on the dancefloor and was a good track in warm up sets.

It's got classical piano vibes and is very chilled in essence, but then grooves and builds, up the tempo somewhat and then relaxing back down, but always keep you highly engaged.

Love Hip-House and feel it offers so much more than Hip-Hop which I always find a bit drab and lacking.

This has loads of great piano in it as well as some fine rapping.

The only thing that hasn't aged well is probably the song title.

However, Tony Scott did some cracking tracks and this is certainly one of them.

Let's stay on the PDM vibe, as there is so much of his stuff which I've had lined to post for years.

This is quality and typical PDM taking a good track and making it disco-tastic and very club friendly.

I've always got respect for Damon  Albarn as he's had great consistency and variability in his music career.

I was never a Blur fan, but liked some of their tracks and his Gorillaz work was always edgy and out there.

The piano in this track is absolutely spanking and totally transforms this track into a real PCC.

It's funny how some tracks remind you of DJ's and although I don't know if Allister Whitehead ever played this but I'd definitely class it as a typical Ali Whitehead track.

Lots of great piano, lovely house vocals and an excellent piece of production.

Nush were always on it!

I'm surprised that I haven't posted this until now.

One of the all time great dance tracks and one of the true pioneers of electronic music.

Along with I Feel Love this is one of the most iconic tracks in dance music history and it's hard to believe it's almost 50 years old.

I've also upped a recent Fred Falke remix which is very nice as it pays homage to the amazing original, but adds some fiercer beats and gives up a bit of a update and polish.

This is very catchy and effective.

Red Jerry's remixes are always on point and this is no exception.

It should really be termed a "Fade To Grey" remix as it is pretty much based on that classic track.

Nice all the same though and would certainly light up any dancefloor.

After all these years of posting club classics I'm quite surprised that this is the first Jean-Michel Jarre track I've posted on the PCC blog.

This one is a coloration of two of electronic music's great pioneers in JMJ and Tangerine Dream, then bring in one of Trance music's finest remixers in Above & Beyond and you have a masterpiece.

This track is just off the scale with variety, dips, peaks, tempo changes and all the bleeps and blips you could which for.

A really unique and amazing track.

I bet this could sound amazing when dropped at the right time in a club.

An absolute blatant rip off of the amazing trance classic Push - Universal Dream.

However, it is nicely done and brings a certain charm in it's own right, and it is certainly a PCC.

However, it should have been classified as a remix of the Push track and paid homage and respect to that.

That said dance music is in itself full of pillaging and ripping other artists material.

I much prefer Nick Bracegirdle's work under his Disco Citizens moniker as opposed to his work as Chicane.

The Disco Citizens work was so much more underground and layered with great piano.

This one takes a while to build, but when that piano kicks it just sets on fire!

I was never a big fan of Deep Dish and always thought they were hugely overrated.

I thought a lot of their remix work was very long, repetitious and frankly a bit boring.

However, I think this track was a masterpiece.

This was a massive track at Back To Basics back in 1993 and was very much at the forefront of the progressive house phenom.
