Totally loved his stuff when he first came on the scene a few years ago.
It just shows you the power of a great remix, because I hated this song with a passion, as it was so over played and I always thought it damn average at the best.
This remix however, is sensational with some superb crunchy beats and those harmonies in the background combined with the strings are just epic.

This is right up there with some of his best.

They have always been one of my all time favourite bands and it was great to see them live a few years back.
That said, there aren't too many of their tracks which have been remixed well for the dancefloor, but this one is a welcome exception.
Mainly due to the fact that it is Jon March from The Beloved behind the production.
Jon was of course a Shoom regular and Acid House inspired his creation of The Beloved.
The rest is history.
Love the piano in this track which fully complements David Gahan's vocals.

What a voice!
This is a superb track and it always brings back great memories of a superb mix tape which was of a night when Luvdup played at Vague in 1993.
That tape got absolutely played to death and it contained some amazing tracks, many of which are featured on the blog.
From that day on, Luvdup were always one of my favourite DJ combos and great to see that both Adrian and Mark are still going strong on the circuit sharing their outstanding eclectic dance music tastes 30 odd years on.
Total respect.
This track is sublime in everyway, a total disco classic and Donna's vocals are always so heavenly.

Beyoncé is no doubt one of the global superstars of recent years and the Freemasons which absolute masters at given commercial tracks a dancefloor appeal.
This is another great remix uses all the vocal talents of Ms Knowles to great effect.

You instantly know as soon as you see their name on the track that is an a surety of being a banger.
This one certainly doesn't disappont.
Fierce in every way, this one contains some Japanese vocals from Ayumi Hamasaki who went on to be known as the Empress of J-Pop and is Japan's biggest selling artist.
The vocal dub mix contains less of the vocals which are a bit marmite in my opinion and hence I think I prefer this version.
This track though is all about A&B's superb production.

I can't quite believe how this has the impertinence to call itself a new track instead of a Forever and a Day remix, as it is a blatant rip off of the great Brothers in Rhythm classic.
That said, it's still a corking track with some great funky guitar and some bangin' piano.

However, since that first day on Friday 6th February 2009 the blog has kept on going and going (despite a brief pause in 2017 and 2018 when I simply didn't have time to post and thought that may be the end).
It is now at a stage where I can see no end, just more and more great tracks being posted.
Since the concept I've started to add lots of new tracks as well as old and while not all these are tracks I've heard in clubs, they are ones which I know would go down a storm.
The ethos of the blog has always been quality over quantity and I now have a folder with over 2,500 still to post tracks, hence I can't ever envisage a time when I will run out of material.
Enough of all that, here's a track which has been hidden away in that "to post" folder for far too long.
This is epic in every way from the very first piano chord to the end.
An all time classic which still sounds amazing 15 years on and will still sound amazing in another 15 years.
Epic is the only word for this track.

This is a stone wall house classic.
Byron's vocals are one of the few male vocals that I really love.
This is just glorious house music with a superb remix by Mr Morales.
From start to finish this track has everything you could ever wish and some fantastic production.
This was always a biggie at Hard Times.
A true house classic which still sounds amazing 24 years on!

A real old skool classic from 1991.
This one was equally applicable to the Balearic laid back scene and/or the Italian House piano scene.
A great track which certainly stands the test of time and still sounds amazing today.

A really great house track and another which I didn't hear much of at the time in 2006.
I can imagine this track being great in Ibiza as an early night track or even at Café Del Mar.

The production on this is first class, with great vocals and so much luxurious piano.

She was one of the true stars of the 90's who created the paths for the likes of Rihanna and many others.
Although not strictly dance music this Disco Purrfection version really cuts the mustard.
All the Disco Purrfection remixes are superb and many are featured on this blog, so check them out on You Tube.
They typically take great disco tracks and reemphasising and repeat, the best bits of the tracks creating something longer and certainly enhanced and always done with real class
The vocals in this are great, as are the lyrics, the piano and the trumpets.

It's got a really infectious groove which just gets you in the mood.
Then in comes lots of great piano, a great little rap and it just grooves on and on.

Anything Dave Lee previously known as Joey Negro (no longer PC) touches is disco gold.
This is a delightful track with lots of great strings, trumpets, great piano and some excellent soulful vocals providing that classic Salsoul vibe.
A really great piece of classy house music.

Not the sort of sound or track you'd normally associate with the PCC blog, but I reckon something like this dropped at the right time could be immense (think of Jeremy Healy and dropping Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit").
The energy in this track is immense, this is how to play the saxophone and it gives a big two fingers to this trend of these fake saxophonists who stand at the front lording it playing track after track. They should be banned for discrediting real artists.
Back to the track, well it's just an amazing mish-mash of electronic beats and saxophone, totally unique and just so epic.

The Comet Is Coming - Summon The Fire
A really unique track with so much going on in it.
It has a type of Saint Etienne vibe, with some luscious vocals and a whole cacophony of different sounds and vibes, including Jazz, Afro House, piano and some great sax.
All very tasty and a champion of a track.
I'm sure this will get better of acclaim or at least it should.

They made some great stuff and also quite of bit of harder edge stuff which wasn't quite my bag.
This one is a real old skool classic with a lovely piano drop.
Not a massive track and one I heard out too often, but one which still sounds great and should have definitely been bigger.
However, that has always been of the key purposes of the PCC Blog, unearthing or reinvigorating old forgotten gems.
Hands un in the air for this one!

This is new and just heard on Parky's fantastic radio show.
To be honest, as amazing as Blue Monday is/was, I do get fed up of hearing it.
Whilst this version gives if some new fizz and life, especially the Spanish vocals.

This has a great feel lots of funky vibes, deep grooves and sp oh so nice piano.
The lyrics possess very little originality, but the track is a corker.

Following a very united rave scene in the late 80s and then a period of old skool piano classics in 1990 and 1991 at places (Up North) like Shelleys, Angels, Zone, KAOS and Ark events, by the back end of 1992 and 1993 the scene split into 2 very different scenes;
1) The dressed up house clubs typified by the likes of Back to Basics, Cream, Hacienda, Renaissance etc
or
2) The hardcore scene
I very much chose the dressed up house scene and never really ventured into the Hardcore scene, although I did enjoy a night at Doncaster Warehouse in 1992 once.
This track is very much from the hardcore scene and is a track which although a bit cheesy is also great and thoroughly PCC worthy.
Not much original about it, but very enjoyable.

As soon as you see that name Dr Packer you know that it is synonimous with very fine house music.
A great gentle groove, some nice vocals and a some nice piano.
Another off the Fools Paradise label is also pretty much on point!

I always loved Gabrielle, her vocals were immense and she was a real breathe of fresh air when she arrived on the scene in the late 80's.
Matt Darey was always at the pinnacle of the early days of progressive and trance and has created many sublime tracks and remixes, many of which adorn the PCC blog.
This is another cracker.

This is one of those tracks.
It's quite hard to describe, but this track just has a great aura and feel to it.
One that just keeps you enticed throughout the track.
It never really peaks, but just keeps you nicely entertained from start to finish.

This has a great atmosphere and a superb vibrant feel.
Quite similar in style to the tracks which Robyn used to put out, hence not out and out dance, but just groovy melodic dance music.

Anyway well overdue a post, this was a huge track back in 1993 and was always superb on the dancefloor.
I've spoiling you here with 3 superb versions to choose from.
The original Victor Simonelli version which is excellent.
A superb remix from those Nush boys who always knew how to spice up a track and add layers of fantastic piano.
Then there's a newer version from 2022 from Odyssey Inc. which is also pretty corkin'.
If I had to choose one I think the Nush version just shades it for their lush piano.

Dennis Ferrer is always a symbol of top quality house tracks.
This is piano-tastic from the get-go.
It contains lots of great synth noises and some good vocal chants, backed with a first beat and then the pounding piano breaks and it makes a hell of a track.
Another one which would be superb on the dancefloor and I'm sure would get some great crowd reaction.

However, Danny's superb remix from 1994 transforms it into an absolute house classic.
A belter of a track and one which definitely slipped a bit under the radar, as it was widely played in the clubs and should have been much bigger.
A real hidden gem this one.

A superb track which encapsulates the Manchester and later Madchester scene which we were so very much part of.
The clubs, the bands, the songs, the fashion, the clothes, the attitude, were such a huge part of my teenage years and early 20's.
The music lives on and still stands the test of time.
This is an amazing tribute to the late Tony Wilson, TV presenter, king pin of the Hacienda and at the forefront of the Manchester music scene in the 80's and 90's. Heady times indeed.
A great tribute by all those in the video and effectively using the magnificent New Order track Your Silent Face.
A great remix by the legend Andy Weatherall, with some amazing strings.

The track comes courtesy of a great Ralphie Rosario remix and is pure classic house with a great groove and some stonking piano.
Top notch house music.

The man is a Disco/House legend and his longevity combined with his prolific production cadence stand him on the very top step of dance music royalty.
The track combines a great rap with some delightful disco rhythms and sounds.

For those of you like me who used to adore Where Love Lies, but then started to dislike it as it became so overplayed that it became tedious and that was before the Jon Lewis advert.
Well fear not, if you felt that way grab a piece of this.
It is exquisite and gives Where Loves Life new life, a completely different feel and yet keeps all the superb bits, speeds them up a little at times from a beautiful slow build up but just creates a feel that I haven't felt for this track since it's hey day when it was first released back in 1990.
Quite simply one of the finest reworkings in house history - yes that epic.
Pure class from 1996, still sounding amazing 30 years on.

Oakey has always been at the cutting edge of new dance music and I sometimes feel he is less acknowledged than people like Sasha (who has a God-like status) which I feel is much more appropriate to Oakey.
Oakey was there at the very beginning and was largely responsible for the Acid House boom which created club culture as we knew to love it.
Respect - he will always be recognised as a one of the true GOATs in my mind!

Jay Kay's music is so made for remixing into great dance music as his vocals and his own production are always top notch.

Probably not liked by LZ fans, but a really great piece of remix work which I think uses the original really well and creates a real dancefloor epic.

The consistency and amazingly high standard of all TE remixes is quite remarkable.

They were one of the bands which I totally loved as a young teen and their sound and consistency was always super impressive.
Anything Vince Clarke ever touched just pure gold whether for Depeche, Yazoo, The Assembly or of course Erasure.
The Clarke-Bell collaborations were always magic with Andy's great vocal prowess and Vince's technical genius.
This track just epitomises the Erasure quality coupled with a great 7th Heaven and you have a great pop track with just enough club vibe to sneak it into PCC status.

Steve Helstrip's trance work was always super special and this is another exquisite remix.

This track for me captured all his musical talents, some spine tingling piano, some great bird noises and aural sound effects which just took you on a building trance journey.
Possibly not as dancefloor friendly as some tracks, but it was very nicely produced.
It was also pretty trailblazing at that time in 1995 and certainly captured Sasha's attention who was deeply inspired by BT.
The piano breakdown from 7 mins 53 secs in is just heavenly and simple divine!

This is one of Janet's lesser known tracks from 1990, but it gets the Steve A treatment laden with great piano.
Janet's great vocals and the energetic upbeat tempo coupled with Steve's remixing genius create a fine little track and certainly one which should have had more club exposure.
A bit of a forgotten gem this one.

I've still got all their EP's on vinyl and just loved their vibe.
More indie dance than prime club music, but pure class all the same.
Part of the Madchester vibe at the time and musically (almost) on a par with The Roses (well maybe The La's).
The track was some wonderful ethereal vocals and a fizzing electro vibe, with some lush jangly guitar.
Also a favourite of Chris and James I believe and played in some of their sets.
Still sounds amazing 35 years on!

It reminds me of Saint Etienne in their Fox Base Alpha years.

What I love about this guy, is that he produces music which is just what I want to hear.
Most notably, great dance music with fantastic piano breakdowns.
He is one of most refreshing artists to come onto the scene for many years and I hope he becomes huge.
His style is very reminiscent of the old skool type tracks from the early 90s when everything piano was heavenly.
That's 4 corking tracks which are up their with anything else I've heard produced in recent years.
This is one of the fundamental reasons I've continued with my blog for so many years, it's coming across tracks which just hit you and immediately give you that sense of euphoria that great dance music is all about.
This is quite simply another piano laden banger.

Gorgeous laid back trance which just soothes the soul.
Always laden with subtle yet so effective piano, they are things of exquisite beauty.
As with the two tracks already posted this is another absolute piece of musical magic.

As with all their work G&D provide another amazing production which compliments the excellent vocals which are voiced rather than sung, but nonetheless sound great and really create a strong vibe.

Nush were always epic and pretty much everything they touched was piano tinged gold.
This is no exception combining Drizabone's great vocals with some lush piano chords to make a great house classic.
The track first came out in 1991, but this remix was a few years later in 1995.
I always enjoyed this track and glad to hear that it still sounds so good after all these years on.

Although not a big fan of Sasha's DJ musical style post 94/95 prior to that he was one of the GOATs.
I found his DJ sets post 1995 just plain boring and could never understand the adulation and following he got.
In my opinion he just played long boring spacey tracks which although ok, never really peaked or reached the heights of many other DJs of that era.
My memories of him from the early 90's will always be the ones I cherish.
A bit about these remix, fizzing, energetic, exciting and one of his best, post 95, so get on it!

An absolute corker of a track and almost as good as the amazing Blind Faith, which is right up there as one of my all time faves and was posted on the PCC blog back in 2009.
This is just a slice of sublime dance music.
I love everything about the track, the vocals, the vibrancy, the originality, the piano is off the charts and the whole production is just spot on.
A true hidden gem and a track which should have been massive.
If in any doubt drop it in any of your sets and you'll get a great crowd reaction.
Just top draw dance club music.
