Can you satisfy me?

Love this track from 1995 and only came across it recently, thanks to Leroy and his forgotten house classics videos series which are well worth checking out.

They have indeed helped me find a lot of forgotten about or even some new to me house classics, the link to his page is here https://www.youtube.com/user/LeroybrownLR3mk02/videos

About this track, it starts off pretty slowly, but then builds nicely and is loaded with some great piano.

Not much Martine in it expect for a few chorus vocals (where she's trying her best to be Kylie-esque) and a little bit of

"Ooh can you satisfy me"

Great track though and Uno Clio, were always pretty reliable with good quality.

Uno Clio Featuring Martine McCutcheon - Are You Man Enough

(Uno Clio Club Mix)

Give it to me, give it to me!

Quality old skool hip house from 1990.

Superb remix by C&C. They really were on it back then.

Love the piano in this - class!

Still sounds great today 30 odd years on.

This track contains loads of samples from lots of old classic tracks including;

"The Peech Boys - Don't Make Me Wait" (1982)

"First Choice - Let No Man Put Asunder" (1983)

"Visual - The Music Got Me" (1983)

The Crew - Get Dumb! (Free Your Body)

(The Clivillés/Cole Master Mix)

It's in the way you want me!

First appearance from Shania on the PCC blog!

Really like this track, a great example of a pop track carefully remixed to create a really credible dance track.

Fantastic vocals from Shania and a superb remix by LTI, which retains the emotion of the track and slides in some lush piano.

It's in the way you want me

Shania Twain - You've Got a Way

(Love to Infinity's Soul Classic Mix)

I fell for you like a ton of bricks!

While "In Control" has already been posted from this EP on the blog back in 2015, this is another piano cracker.

It feels much more like a 1991 type track, but it's actually from 1993.

Lots of frantic, "hands in the air" piano, which a maintains a pretty relentless pace throughout the track.

Just really great old skool vibe on this one.

I fell for you like a ton of bricks! Ooh baby!

Enjoy!

S-Cape E.P Vol#1 - Touch And Go

Monday, Tuesday, going to Conway!

Cracking track from 1995.

While Reel 2 Real had some significant success and were a bit mainstream, some of their stuff was great in clubs.

This was a quality track courtesy of a great remix from Cotton Club.

"Monday, Tuesday, going to Conway!"

Enjoy!

Reel 2 Real - Conway

(Cotton Club Mix)

Feel the power?

Fantastic track from 1993, even the Paul Gotel versions couldn't out do this fantastic remix by E-Smoove.

Superb vocals, powerful percussion and just a great groove, underpinned by lots of lush piano and some great rapping, this track contains it all.

Top notch house music.

Get on it!

Nu Colours - Power

(E-Smoove Anthem Mix)

Party time, I feel it!

Corking track from 1994.

Bouncy little number with lots of energy.

Typical of the Euro/Handbag house vibe back in '94.

"I feel it," do you?

Hi-Lux - Feel It

(Full On Mix)

Higher, take me higher!

Surprised that I haven't posted this one already.

A huge track from 1990 and Sasha's first foray into the remix studio.

It's a superb track, much as you'd expect from the type of music Sasha was playing then (the good old days!)

Get on it!

Evolution - Came Outa Nowhere

(Take Me Higher Remix)

You know I really care!

Not a big fan of Fragma, but when Above & Beyond sprinkle their magic dust it transforms.

The cheesey vocal actually works quite well on this track.

Classic A&B remix as we know to expect, pumping, thumping and driving.

Some great tinkly piano laced in here as well.

Get on it!

You know I really care!

Fragma - Everytime You Need Me

(Above & Beyond Remix)

Here the drummer get wicked and let me lose my mind!

Absolutely huge old skool track from 1991.

It was a huge Sasha track and was hammered by most of the leading DJs at the time.

It was sensational on the dancefloor and the place just erupted when that piano dropped.

The piano is ripped from Secchi's - Whip Of Rhythm which was posted on the blog back in 2010.

For years I wondered what they saying but I guess it's "Gotta Release It?"

Judge Jules was involved in making this also.

Here the drummer get wicked and let me lose my mind!

Elixir Vitae - Gotta Release It

Here's another chance for you to dance with me!

Sensational remix of an old skool classic.

Everyone will of course be familiar with the Shade of Rhythm classic, which has been posted on the PCC blog many years ago back in 2009.

This however, if a fantastic reworking my the maestro that is Paul Gotel working under his Ca$ino moniker.

It's a piano laden epic monstor, they type we come to expect from Mr Gotel.

10 and a half minutes in, it just goes up another level.

Absolutely top drawer!

Here's another chance for you to dance with me!

Ca$ino - Sound Of Eden

(Ca$ino Resurrection Mix)

Something deep inside my heart!

Lovely bit of vocal trance from 1999.

Pretty much everything Lange touched was quality.

So much great trance from 1998 to 2000 and probably needs to be more posted, I'll rectify that in future months.

Something deep inside my heart!

Enjoy!

Agenda - Heaven

(Lange Remix)

How much time will you wait?

Another cracking little track from Bas Noir from 1992.

They only produced 5 tracks, but they were all very good, I wonder why they weren't bigger.

They have a similar vibe, sound to Jomanda, great vocals and a really nice housey sound.

This one was remixed by the legend that it Tony Humphries.

Classic House magic.

Bas Noir - Superficial Love

(Club Remix)

I am free, say it after me, I am free!

Fantastic piece of floaty, ambient early progressive house from Morgan King.

This was from 1992 and so ahead of it's time.

It's a truly stunning track and one of those tracks which just puts you in another place.

I never heard this out in a club which is a shame, as it would have been sensational if dropped at the right time.

It would be a great track to drop approaching midnight on New Years Eve, so get on it all you DJs out there, make it happen!

I am free, say it after me, I am free!

La Serrena – I'm Free (Say After Me)

(Full Length Freedom Mix)

Progressive oh yeah!

Fine piece of progressive house from 1992 from FSOL under the guise of Metropolis.

This was a biggie at Back To Basics in Leeds, as was Hyporeel which I've already posted.

This was very much the sound of the time.

It feels a little dated now, but still very good.

It always reminded me of birds tweeting!!!

Enjoy!

Metropolis - Metropolis

(Original)

24 hours a day!

A really enjoyable little track this one.

From 1990 it's a great bit of Balearic brilliance with a cool laid back vibe, some lovely skippy piano, lots of great vocal samples/snippets and some hypnotic chanting.

Very unique in style, yet very effective.

Enjoy!

24 hours a day!

Aqua Regia - N.Y.C. Smile On Me

(Attractive Mix)

Anyone who makes you feel this way!

Great example of the power of the remix.

Morales turns naff pop song into very credible house track.

This one was from 1991 and one of Morales earlier remixes, yet still contains all his classic features and of course some glorious piano.

"Anyone who makes you feel this way!"

Enjoy!

ABC - Love Conquers All

(The Morales Mix)

Very yummy indeed!

Fantastic piece of progressive house from 1996.

Just builds and builds, yet keeps you fully engaged all the way on the journey.

There is some lovely tinkly piano weaved in and then it peaks, then rocks some more.

A really great track.

What can I say other than "very yummy!"

Agh - Yummy!

(Original Mix)

Also included is yet another great remix by Dekkard.

This contains some delightful piano chords, but never really peaks and explodes like you'd hope.

Still very nice though.

AGH - Yummy!

(Dekkard Mix)

I'm falling!

Great dance music doesn't always need to be intense and pumping.

This is a sensational track from 1983.

It comes courtesy of a fantastic remix by Shep Pettibone.

Just check the production on this track, superb, as is the use of so many real instruments, love the flute in this.

That's the one thing missing from dance music of today's generation the use of real instruments, that's why disco classics like this will never die.

This track has been sampled in plenty of songs including Daft Punk - Face to Face / Breakbot & Irfane - Get Lost / DeeJMD - Falling In Love With You.

An all time classic and true PCC.

Surface - Falling In Love

(12" Extended Mix)

Another gem from the legend!

More pure quality from the legend that is Steve Anderson.

Here he turns a pretty dull track into a fabulous piano laden piece of class.

From 1989, but still sounds fresh and current due to the sensational remix.

Just lovely!

Bas Noir - I'm Glad You Came To Me

(Steve Anderson Remix)

Monday 20 December 2021

Yes, I like it!

Absolute house classic from 1992.

I used to love this, great sing along chorus, superb house groove and some lush piano.

Quality house music.

Yes, I like it!

Machine Orchestra - Survival

(Discotech Version)

Move your body feel the heartbeat!

 Fierce track from 1989.

So much going on with this one with echoes of techno, new beat, acid, yet it call's itself trance dance.

It states "new beat is boring, acid house is dead, this is trance dance!"

A great track well ahead of it's time

Liaisons D - Heartbeat

You're so fine, lose my mind!

The 3rd appearance on the PCC blog for INXS.

This time courtesy of yet another superb remix by Morales.

This one however is a major departure from his usual piano laden house classic stylee.

It doesn't disappoint though and has a lovely laid back mellow vibe to it.

You're so fine, lose my mind!

Very nice indeed!

INXS - Disappear

(Morales 12'' Mix)

In the bag!

More superb work by the TEs and yet another rip-roaring remix from 2000.

Not much Geri in this, which isn't a bad thing because you wasn't very good anyway.

Every TE mix just hits the spot, bundles of energy, pounding, intense, building, peaking, then coming through again.

Super duper!

Enjoy!

Geri Halliwell - Bag It Up

(Trouser Enthusiasts Mix)

Feels like I'm 17!

I wish!

Two fantastic remixes of a great track by Eurythmics.

Annie's vocals have always been exceptional and pretty unique.

You've then got 2 of the hottest pumping remixers on the job, hence two electric tracks.

I'm not sure which remix I prefer as they are both monstrous.

I think the Peter Rauhofer mix just edges it, but it's close.

You even get a touch of Sweet Dreams chucked in for good measure.

Nice!

Eurythmics – 17 Again (Vocal)

(Peter Rauhofer Mix)

Eurythmics -17 Again

(Thunderpuss 2000 Club Mix)

Stay with it!

Be patient with this one as it takes a good 2 and a half minutes to come alive, but the wait is certainly worth it.

It then builds releases a further 5 minutes of pure progressive pleasure.

I don't remember hearing this out in a club, but I certainly think it would have gone down well.

Excellent track from 1996.

Enjoy!

DJ Anthony and Georgio - Equilibrium

The next generation is electrifying!

Great remix as Shep get's heavy on the Roland TB303's and delivers some great acid squelch!

In 1989 Debbie Gibson was the Britney Spears of her generation (but not quite as good).

The rest of the track is a bit teen pop, but Shep's superb knob twiddling gives it that bit of club cred.

At least Debbie got this bit right "The next generation is electrifying!"

Debbie Gibson - Electric Youth

(Shep Pettibone's Deep House Mix)

What would we, what would we!

Quality piece of old skool piano house from 1992

Nothing original about this one, but that doesn't detract from it's appeal.

Enjoy!

D.H. Pinhas - Babaji

(Club Mix)

Oh my lord, strap yourself in!

Fasten your seat belts for this one!

An absolute barnstormer from Junior.

I've often said on the PCC blog that Junior can be a bit hit and miss and some of his work ranges from out of this world to plain boring.

This I'm glad to report is one of his very best.

Talk about explosive. It has an intensity and urgency achieved by very few tracks and keeps you totally encapsulated and engrossed throughout (following a very gentle first 90 seconds).

It then takes off and it never stops all 12 minutes of it.

I would have loved to heard this in a club, but my clubbing days were over by this time (2000).

There are also some very credible although much gentler and laid back remixes by LME and Link Ray, of which the Link Ray is the better of the two and is really excellent.

However, they are nowhere near as impressive as Junior's.

Get on it!

Catapila - Void (I Need You)

(Junior Vasquez Mix)

Catapila - Void (I Need You)

(Lisa Marie Experience Remix)

Catapila - Void (I Need You)

(Link Ray Piano Remix)

Don't go away!

Another piece of Acid magic by Winc from 1994.

Very similar in style to his huge "Higher State Of Consciousness".

This is a deep house, tribal, acid work out.

Which builds, bubbles and wobbles with superb percussion throughout and then in comes some great piano and a drum rolls.

Don't go away, don't leave me now

I thought your love was here to stay!

Winc - Thoughts Of A Tranced Love

(Original Mix)

We like to party - we sure do!

A real stomper of a track from 1998.

Don't be put off that it is the dreadfully cheesy Vengaboys, this remix has very little of them in it.

Another fine remix by Tin Tin Out who were always on the money.

Bangin' handbag house!

Vengaboys - We Like To Party!

(Tin Tin Out Remix)

Yes, I'm glad I found you!

Not a track I heard out in clubs, but I know it was played by some of the more adventurous DJs on the circuit.

Those with the real skill of knowing just when was the right time to drop it in their set.

That's what I call Balearic.

This dates back to 1987 and wasn't their biggest hit, but definitely one of their best.

Yes, I'm glad I found you!

Enjoy!

Then Jerico - The Motive

Show me how you're feeling!

A big fave of mine which I used to love hearing out.

The S-Man was on fire around this time (1994) and created some superb remixes.

All were laced with piano and great vocals, just like this one.

Pure classic house music, that still sound brilliant today.

Another big Hac anthem as well.

"Show me how you're feeling, show me how it feels"

Think Twice - Waiting For You

(Roger's Anthem Mix)

The sun machine is coming down!

Catchy little number from Jeremy Healy's band.

This one is from 1990 and certainly has a feel of that era.

Funny mention of mushies!

Also loved the "Rapped Up Warm Mix" which is much more Balearic and load back but very cool.

Enjoy!

E-Zee Possee - The Sun Machine

(Master Mix)

E-Zee Possee - The Sun Machine

(Rapped Up Warm Mix)

Everybody get up!

Loved pretty much everything Steve Proctor did.

He was a superb DJ and a great remixer.

Always very original with his sounds and creating something very different to the norm.

Importantly he loved a good piano breakdown and this track certainly has one of these.

Another quality track from 1991.

Everybody get up!

C-Force   Don't Look Down

(Steve Proctor Dub Mix)

The fire in your touch I always find so hard to beat!

Probably slightly on the commercial side, but great dance music all the same.

The Freemasons (aka James Wiltshire and Russell Small) produced some fantastic pop-tinged dance remix classics. Several are already on the blog and several more to come.

Sophie has fantastic and very unique vocals and of course is a major star and deservedly so.

The track is energetic, vibrant and very catchy.

"The fire in your touch I always find so hard to beat!"

Enjoy!

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Bittersweet

(Freemasons Extended Club Mix)

Sunday 19 December 2021

Food's gotta be bought, bills gotta be paid!

A big Parky Hac anthem from 1991.

Just pure quality house music with great piano, great vocals and that catchy little horn.

Still sounds great, viva la house!

Simone - My Family Depends On Me

(Club Vocal Mix)

I cannot wait for your love no more!

Whilst "Point Zero" quite rightly took all the plaudits as it was a truly sensational track and is already posted on the PCC blog lurking on the flip side was this monster.

As you can imagine huge in the gay clubs and big JoPW fave.

This was pretty spectacular when dropped and would create total dancefloor delirium.

Still sounds great to day and is so representative of that 1994 clubbing era.

"I cannot wait for your love no more!"

Enjoy!

Li Kwan - I Need A Man

How you all feel out there?

Can't quite believe that I haven't posted this before now.

One of the many fantastic old skool tracks which rocked the nations finest clubs in the early 90's (this was first released in 1990).

This is the version that most will be familiar with, however there was a great remix done in 1996, which is less housey and a touch more breakbeat, but has a piano break that this top notch.

Two great tracks.

Enjoy!

Electric Choc - Shock The Beat

(Piano Mix)

Electric Choc - Shock The Beat

(Pianoman Shock The Boot Remix)

I'd never dream that I'd meet somebody like you!

Another piece of Balearic brilliance.

Perfect for chilling with captivating vocals and just such a great vibe.

Just lovely with some delicious vocals from Gemma Hayes.

This is what remixing is all about creating something totally different to the original Chris Issak version.

Very nice!

Betoko vs Gemma Hayes - Wicked Game

Feel the groove!

Fantastic little jazzy house track from 1992.

I hope it didn't mean posting on the PCC blog (Never on Sunday), or else I'm in trouble.

This track has a great grooving bassline and is sprinkled with some wonderful jazzy piano.

Definitely one for the house-heads!

Enjoy!

Never On Sunday - Jackie's Theme

We've come too far!

M-People were one of the very best club dance acts, pretty much every track was solid gold, with Heather's amazing vocal prowess and the Hac leg-end Mike Pickering behind the production, they were always right on the money.

I've posted the BiR remix of this previously which is sensational, but LuvDup remixes are always top notch and this is no different.

Possibly not quite as explosive as some of their very best, but nonetheless pretty fine with some great piano.

Enjoy!

M People - Open Your Heart

(LuvDup's Check Yer Head Mix)

No longer will I be your fool!

Another piano-tastic old skool track, this time from 1993.

The Disco Magic label put out some fantastic tracks.

No longer will I be your fool!

Enjoy!

Kristaal - No Longer

(Full Action Mix)

I'm still alive, in the land of the living!

Some fantastic versions of this stomper from 1996.

The Dekkard mix just edges it for me, as it is a totally epic 12 mins journey.

That said the LME version is also pretty epic (as per usual from them) and really explodes with an avalanche of piano about 5 mins in.

The Junior version is also very good, but not as strong as the other two.

There are also notable remixes by Deep Dish and Rollo/Sister Bliss, but these don't touch those posted.

I wonder why all these great remixers chose to work on this track?

I can only presume, it's because of Kristine's amazing vocals, which are just superb.

Some great remixes of a great track.

Enjoy!

Kristine W - Land of The Living

(Dekkard's Planet Vocal Mix)

Kristine W - Land of The Living

(Lisa Marie's Vocal Experience)

Never stop Rockin' Romance!

Surprised I haven't posted this before, a great old skool piano classic from 1990.

It has all the great ingredients, ace vocals, catchy chorus and of course luscious layers of piano.

"Ooh yeah, I go slow, ooh yeah, I go slow!"

Get on it!

Joy Salinas - Rockin' Romance

(Bump Bump Mix)

I've got that sweet, Ecstasy feeling!

This is a blast from the past.

I haven't heard this for ages, but it still sounds great.

Inner City were always a safe bet for a great track.

The Altern 8 remix is very 1991 and captures that great era so well.

Lots of chunky piano (although a few too many ravey bits, which sound very dated now!)

Get on it!

Inner City - Let it Reign

(Altern 8 Know The Score Mix)

Maybe I'm wrong far to far gone!

Joe Roberts made some great tracks in the early 90's, two of which are already on the PCC blog.

This from 1993 was also superb in clubs.

Yet another fantastic remix by Morales.

Oooh that piano just sounds so crisp and chilling.

I'm not a big fan of the backing vocals in this track, but other than that, it is top notch.

Joe Roberts - Back In My Life

(Classic Mix)

Monday 13 December 2021

Give myself an education!

Cracking feel good anthem from 1995, with some amazing vocals from Sabrina Johnston.

The Sphinx was of course yet another alias for Rollo.

There are lots of versions and remixes of this track, but this is my favourite mix which contains the spuerb vocals in their splendour in addition to some great piano.

It was also released as "Romero - What Hope Have I" which is pretty unusual, but stick with this version which is as good as it gets.

Sphinx - What Hope Have I

(The Big Mix)

All aboard!

Proper old skool house from 1987.

Just love this track, funky, groovy, vibey, authentic and so damn catchy.

Lots of samples, lots of edits and snippets, but just a quality track.

"You better climb on board"

Risse - House Train

(New York Club Mix)

Back to Paris!

Ok, staying on the Paris vibe, but this time one with must more dance music cred.

The fantastic Paris Grey later of Inner City fame.

To be honest there is very little of her on this version, which is mainly barnstorming piano.

Great track though (and much better than the vocal version which was very commercial).

Paris Grey - Don't Make Me Jack

(Piano Attack)

Maybe I'm perfect for you!

Ok, ok, Paris Hilton on the PCC blog, what's going on?

Be patient though this is a great little track and ultra catchy.

The "Tracy Young "Does Paris" Club Mix" is more dancefloor friendly and a really great remix, but it's the original version which I like best.

It's a sort of reggae vibe to it, but it is just so damn catchy and Paris' vocals are pretty decent to be fair.

This should have definitely been bigger than it was on both the dancefloor and the mainstream.

It'll probably get a re-vamp in a few years time by some up and coming young buck and get to number 1.

You heard it hear first!

Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind

(Single Version)

Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind

(Tracy Young 'Does Paris' Club Mix)

1,2,3, kick it!

Another piece of Balearic brilliance.

This time from 1990.

There were a few remixes of this and one by Danny R, but they don't touch this version.

Fabulous vocals from Denise Johnson as well with lush piano.

A comment on YouTube described it as "aahhhhh - like slipping into a warm bath. Lovely".

Which captures it well for me!

"Feel so high"

Hypnotone - Dream Beam

(Original Mix)

Fierce in more sense than one!

Fierce, yes you bet!

In fact anything the TE's got their hands on was fierce.

They were absolute remix masters at transforming non-entity tracks into epic dancefloor stormers.

This is another amazing piece of work from 1999.

You'll be familiar with the vocals and then it's all about the amazing TE production.

Top notch as always.

Pure class!

Fierce - Sweet Love

(Trouser Enthusiasts' Mix)

Hi yeah, remember me, how ya doing?

A great Balearic track, with some lush piano from 1990.

Dave Stewart was of course better known as one half of Eurythmics, but this is a quality track which is quite Bowie-esque in it's delivery.

Great remix courtesy of BBG.

Get on it and vibe away!

Dave Stewart & The Spiritual Cowboys - Jack Talking

(12 version)

Just do it!

Great piece of Italian Piano house, from you guessed it 1991.

One of the old skool possee

Just a great uplifting track with great vocals.

As Nike said "Just do it!"

Daybreak - Tomorrow

(Tomorrow Remix)

There is no better way to be....

Such a superb old disco classic which is over 40 years old and still sounds superb.

From 1980 and featuring those familiar vocals of Luther Vandross before he embarked on his solo career and mass fame.

Like many tracks from that era it is superbly produced with wonderful use of "real instruments".

Pure Club Classic in every way.

"There is no better way to be"

Just feel the "Glow of Love"!

Change - The Glow Of Love

(Long Version)

Saturday 11 December 2021

You'll never feel so high!

You have to hand it to Al Mackenzie he was one talented guy, with his hand in many pies and always performing par excellence.

Whether it was DJing, remixing, making his own productions or as the less commercial half of D:Ream, everything he touched was golden.

This is one of his own productions under the guise of Kitsch In Sync.

It is a delicious epic piano stomper from 1995, with superb seductive vocals and just a superb vibe throughout.

It gives me Kylie - Confide In Me vibes - (yes that good!)

Pure class - Al Mackenzie - what a man!

Kitsch In Sync - Another Night

(Full Vocal Mix)

Take the ribbon from my hair!

Big history on this track originally a country & western song performed by Sammi Smith in 1970 and written by the uber talented Kris Kristofferson who wrote many hundreds of masterpieces.

It has fantastic and very well known lyrics.

It was then covered by Gladys Knight in 1971 - which is a truly amazing version with the most delightful vocals (and is pure Balearic brilliance).

It then got a re-working for clubland as we know it in 1996 by Huff & Puff, followed by some excellent Rollo and Sister Bliss remixes in 1997.

All very notable tracks and great versions, but you'll never beat the Gladys Knight version IMHO (although probably not the most club friendly version - in that case plump for the Huff & Puff - Deep Mix).

All great tracks and a great example of the evolution of dance music and it's reliance on the past!

Huff & Puff - Help Me Make It

(Deep Mix)

Huff & Puff - Help Me Make It

(Rollo and Sister Bliss '97 Remix)

Gladys Knight & The Pips -

Help Me Make It Through The Night

Oldie or Goldie?

Great update of the classic Patrice Rushen track, which was huge in 1997.

In fact other than different vocals and a slight update of sound there is very little to choose between them.

If I had to choose, I think I'd go with the Patrice version (which was made as long ago as 1979), for it's superb originality and funkier vibe.

Oldie or Goldie, which do you prefer?

Daddy's Favourite - I Feel Good Things For You

(Original Mix)

Patrice Rushen - Haven't You Heard

(12" Version)

Remember the good times, don't you want some more?

An all time house classic from 1992.

That opening intro is fierce and the oh so popular lyrics from "Let No Man Put Asunder".

Great breathy vocals and deep house undertones.

Super duper!

Blake Baxter - One More Time

(Red Planet Remix)

Love or infatuation?

More delightful house music from the legend that is E-Smoove.

He created so many fabulous remixes, all with the same spellbinding formula using great female vocals and sumptuous piano.

Top notch.

This ones from 1992, but still feels great.

Jamie Loring - Love Or Infatuation

(E-Smoove's Groovy Mix)

Sunday 5 December 2021

Positive feedback guaranteed!

A huge track from 1992 which was equally at home in the nations finest house clubs or in the fast emerging hardcore scene.

It is a superb track with some many different aspects to it.

It was another one which was definitely ahead of it's time, hugely copied and yet still sounds amazing today 30 years on!

A true PCC!

Cleptomaniacs - Positive Feedback

(Climax Mix)

Double A!

Staying on the house piano vibe, here is another old favourite from 1991.

Just piano-tastic from start to finish.

1991 was certainly the year for piano house.

The great thing was that these tracks translated perfectly in clubs creating unbelievable atmospheres, certainly the good old days!

This track was a double A side and I've add the other side, which is another great track.

Data Bass - A Piano In The Night

Data Bass - A Trip In The Night

There's no way you can live without it!

Love this, just such pleasant lush uplifting piano house from 1992.

Evolution produced some cracking tracks over the years.

If you like quality house music this is for you.

There's no way you can live without it!

Evolution - Love Thing

(Original Mix)

Don't have nightmares!

Another track which was devastating on the dancefloor.

It was totally electric and used to send the place wild.

Another track which was way ahead of it's time and copied and sampled many times over.

It still sounds great and fresh, but possibly got a bit over played and maybe was a victim of it's own success.

Enjoy!

Brainbug - Nightmare

(Original Sinister Strings Remix)

Never want to let you go!

Quality old skool track from 1992.

Not quite up there with "Straight Up House", but nonetheless a fine piece of dance music which was very fresh at the time.

As they say "Check, check it out!"

Underground Posse - Check It Out

Dive in the sea (of tranquility)!

Love this track fantastic remix by The Man Like!

Totally chilled with some luscious piano entwined, perfect for that chill out room, Balearic beats or Cafe Del Mar vibe.

Although not one of his better known mixes, it is in my opinion one of his best and certainly set the scene for a lot of the tracks he made and championed in the future.

This was a pretty novel track from 1992 and way ahead of it's time!

Enjoy!

Londonbeat - The Sea Of Tranquility

(Sasha Ambient Mix)

One I can use everyday!

A fantastic old disco track it pre-dates most of the tracks on the PCC blog as this one is from 1985, but it is just such a fabulous track.

Superb and very powerful vocals and slick production, it's a superb track.

There are so many great tracks from this era which were very influential in later sounds.

Enjoy!

Jennifer Holliday - No Frills Love

(Extended Dance Remix)

More Dannii delight!

I always felt a bit sorry for Dannii, as she was always in the shadow of her big sister, but in the view of clubland she was certainly the better of the two.

This was usually courtesy of great remixes particularly the remixes done by the Trouser Enthusiasts which are sensational and have been on the blog for some time.

Her vocals are great for dance music.

This is another fine remix, (although a tad commercial) and is another fine dance track from Ms. Minogue Jnr!

Enjoy!

Dannii Minogue - Who Do You Love Now

(Riva's Bora Bora Club Mix)

Double bubble!

Great old house track from 1990 with some great piano and a fantastic vocal performance from Rowetta (of Happy Mondays and later X-Factor fame).

I've also included a great track which is very similar crafted by Jon Da Silva which started out as a remix of Reach Out and mutated into a track of it's own.

Certainly two bonafide Pure Club Classics!

Get on it!

Sweet Mercy feat. Rowetta - Reach Out

(Ben Chapman Mix)

Disco Universe Orchestra - Soul On Ice

(Full Disco Symphony)

Rockin', Rockin' music!

Huge favourite of mine from 1993 and surprised I've not posted before now.

Just love this track from the gentle "church like" choral entrance to the thumping beat and the subtle undertones.

"Rockin, Rockin' music" - oh yes indeed!

Blunted Dummies - House For All

(House 4 All Robots Mix)

Berry nice!

If there was ever a track to remind you of 1991 and 1992 and the transition from rave towards a more progressive house style, then this was probably it.

It was played every single week (for months on end) in pretty much every decent club in the country.

It was just so effective on the dancefloor, bouncy, groovy and just pure entrancing.

Still sounds great today.

All time classic, later was later eclipsed by the fantastic TC1992 - Funky Guitar (already on the blog, what a track that was!).

Enjoy!

TC 1991 - Berry

(Fratty Energy Version)

Baby, I'll find a friend to spend the weekend!

Seeming as it's the weekend, why the hell not?

I always loved this track and remember having it on a mix tape years ago.

It's sort of like "Charlestown" for the house generation.

It's just so catchy and encompasses some great piano and some fierce vocals.

Groovy, funky, cheeky and uplifting all at the same time.

Baby, I'll find a friend to spend the weekend!

Enjoy!

Derry Hall - Just For Week-end

(Club Mix)

Always show your True Spirit!

2nd outing for Carleen Anderson on the PCC blog.

Similar to the previous post of her track "Mama Said" this one comes courtesy of another fine piano tinged remix from K-Klass.

It displays Carleen's great throaty vocals very effectively.

This was a great track in clubs and a regular at the Hac.

Quality house music.

Frankie does it again!

Quite surprised this is the first Lisa Stansfield track on the PCC blog, more to come in the future.

This is just sensational largely due to a fantastic Frankie Knuckles remix.

His remix skills very just second to none, laden with gorgeous piano he'd transformed non-descript tracks into dancefloor classics.

RIP - House Music Legend!

This is one such track, it just flows from start to finish and showcases Lisa's vocal talents perfectly.

Sumptuous!

Lisa Stansfield ‎- Never, Never Gonna Give You Up

(Frankie's Classic Morning Mix)

The roof, the roof.....

Old skool house classic from 1990.

This still sounds amazing and fresh.

I just love the variation  in this track, it contains loads of great samples, lots of great piano and lots of tempo changes.

Just a great track and probably not as well known and widely played as it should have been.

Get on it!

WestBam - The Roof Is On Fire

(Ultimate Mix)

"When I Speak!"

Always had a great effect on the dancefloor this one and was a regular feature in lots of Oakey's set around 1992.

It was a track very much ahead of it's time and feels more like something from 1996.

Such a simple track but oh so effective.

Class from start to finish!

Get on it!

"When I Speak!"

Transform - Transformation

(Club Mix)

Enter the Sandman!

Superb piece of dreamy trance from 1996.

Very similar in style to many of the tracks of that era, this was a lesser well known one and should have been bigger in clubs then it was.

Some delightful piano in this and it increases in intensity as the track progresses.

A great little piece of melodic trance which still sounds great today over 25 years on.

Get on it!

Sandman - Coimbra

(Flex Version)

Te, te, te, te, te, tell me!

Totally camp, but totally brilliant.
Just a fantastic feel good Europop classic from 1989.
With superb piano. some great sax and a pumping hi-NRG groove, it's just a great record.
Cheesy as the come, but oh so good!
Te, te, te, te, te, tell me!
Enjoy!

Dandy - Casanova
(Extended Version)

Was it?

A huge club classic and a big Hacienda anthem from 1989.

Just a fantastic track with superb vocals from the super talented Kym Mazelle and of course the customary masterful Morales Def Mix.

I've also included an alternative version which doesn't quire match up, but is a very good track nonetheless.

Enjoy!

Kym Mazelle - Was That All It Was

Different world from everybody!

Love this, another classic old skool track from 1991 and another one which Sasha often dropped.

Scintillating piano from start to finish it really does epitomise that great Italian piano house era.

Those days will never be re-created or forgotten.

Great times!

We were in a different world to everybody!

Papillon - Different World

(Bully Mix)

Don't drop the rock!

This always went down a storm in clubs back in 1993.

It was one of those tracks which most of the top jocks had in their bag and used frequently at the time.

It was always one Jeremy Healy dropped a lot.

Great track with a funky, bouncy infectious groove and some effective vocal snippets.

Enjoy!

D-Tek - Drop the Rock

(Original Mix)

Enter the Hip-House!

Love this from 1991.

In fact I loved most of the Hip-House type tracks and Daisy Dee's rapping on this is quality.

I can't stand Hip-Hop, but Hip-House oh yes!

This was a big Sasha track back int'day and always went down a treat (although he typically played the dub version), although I actually prefer the 12" Extended Club version.

Pump it Up!

Daisy Dee ‎– Pump It Up All The Way

(12" Extended Club)

Daisy Dee ‎– Pump It Up All The Way

(Club Dub Mix)

End of night stormer!

Totally love this track with a superb remix by the super talented genius that is Moby.

I remember Ali Cooke dropping this last track of the night one night at Basics back in 1992.

As you can imagine it went down a storm.

Just a superb track, with amazing piano throughout.

Enjoy!

Brian Eno - Fractal Zoom

(Mary's Birthday Mix)

Three to choose from!

Another fantastic track from the supremely talented Adeva.

I decided to post 3 different versions of this as they are all fantastic and in Frankie, Morales and Steve Anderson you have 3 of the greatest remixers of our generation.

The Classic Club mix is just pure piano delight which just brings to life Adeva's amazing vocals.

The Def Club Mix is typical Def Mix, housey, groovy, fantastic.

Then the Steve Anderson remix is just typical of his glorious piano infused remixes.

All great tracks.

Enjoy!

Adeva - It Should Have Been Me

(Classic Club Mix)

Adeva - It Should've Been Me

(DMC Remix by Steve Anderson)

Some how, some way!

Superb track from 1996 from one of my favourite male vocalists the uber talented Robert Owens.

There are quite a few good remixes of this and the Fire Island (Farley/Heller) remix is a very good housey version.

However, this is the pick of the pops for me, typical Loveland with an avalanche of great piano, which so compliments the fantastic vocals.

A real quality classic house track.

Enjoy!

Robert Owens - Was I Here Before

(Loveland Full On Vocal 12")

It would take an eternity to break us!

Quite possibly my favourite Whitney track.

Her vocals were just phenomenal, one of the greatest ever, RIP beautiful lady!

This is a truly fantastic remix by JP and uses Whitney's amazing vocals to perfection.

Coming in at over 13 minutes long, there is never a second that isn't compelling and engaging, with fantastic tempo and key changes throughout.

That clever little use of a touch of Roland TB 303 acid(ish) baseline is a masterstroke also.

Just an incredible track that will always be totally timeless.

Enjoy!

Whitney Houston - My Love Is Your Love

(Jonathan Peters Remix)

Wednesday 10 November 2021

Razor sharp!

Still love this, although it does sound a bit dated now.

In 1988 though it was the dogs, combining the superb rapping talents of 18 year old rapper Roxanne Shante, with some great squelchy acid Roland TB-303 baseline.

Sharp as a knife indeed!

Brandon Cooke Featuring Roxanne Shante - Sharp As A Knife

(Acid Attack)

Feel the summer vibe?

Well it's certainly not summer, but here is one of the great summer tracks to brighten up your cold, dreary November day here in good old Blighty.

From 1989 this track is just delightful, containing some fantastic piano and lush Spanish vocals, even the Black Eyed Peaz versions from 2008 were pretty good and respected the original.

The Steve Anderson remix is simply amazing as well and adds even a touch more piano to lift it to an even higher level of lushness! Fantastic production as always from the legend that is Steve A.

A true Balearic summer classic which will always sound amazing.

Enjoy!

Sergio Mendes - Mas Que Nada

(Justin Strauss Remix)

Sergio Mendes - Mas Que Nada

(DMC remix by Steve Anderson)

Oh baby!

Totally love this from start to finish.

Like all TE remixes it has a wonderful pumping rhythm and flow.

Totally electric, it sets off at an unrelenting pace and then peaks wonderfully, then goes some more.

"Oh baby"

The vocals are camp but just great.

Another fantastic TE reconstruction.

Enjoy!

U.C.F. feat. Sarah Brightman - Starship Troopers

(Trouser Enthusiasts' Iris Unguicularis Mix)

To move your body; together!

Love this track from 1992 which was very original at the time from Phil Kelsey.

A superb remix by Brothers in Rhythm, Dave Seaman and Steve Anderson under their Creative Thieves moniker.

This one twists and turns with lots of familiar samples and some great touches of piano.

Still sounds great nearly 30 years on.

Uncle Bob - Uncle Bobs Burly House

(Creative Thieves Mix)

When I think of you!

Never thought I'd have Whigfield on the PCC blog, but it really is a cracking track.

From 1995 this comes courtesy of a fine Dancing Divaz remix.

In their trademark style they build it up, tease a little  and  slip in some lovely  piano chords.

Top drawer!

Whigfield - Think of You

(Dancing Divaz Club Mix)

Rise, rise up! Open up your eyes!

Classic track from 1992, hard edged and deep in it's message, but also very engaging.

Some great little snippets and vocal samples in here as well as some hard edged, acid edged deep house, coupled with some delightful touches of piano.

A really unique and powerful piece of classic house music.

Enjoy!

Phuture - Rise From Your Grave

(Wake Da F... Up Mix)

When you get that good life feeling, no one can take it away!

Amazing as it was when the original version of Good Life first burst on the scene in 1988, it has to be one of the most overplayed records and hence has lost some of it's original appeal.

However, this superb WOW remix from 1999 brings it back to (good) life!

Using the classic WOW laid back floaty trance vibe, it takes it to another level of brilliance, yet still retains the old charm of the original.

Just how remixes should be.

Enjoy!

Inner City - Good Life (Buena Vida)

(Way Out West Vocal Mix)

Phenomenal in every sense!

I first came across this track on a fabulous mix set that Adrian LuvDup played.

Not only was I blown away with the mix set and so pleased that after all these Adrian is still totally on it, but I was also entranced with this track.

Balearic in it's very essence with some superb vocals, some delightful piano and of course phenomenal hand claps.

Yet another fantastic remix by the super talented Ray Mang.

A really superb track from 2018 which will stand the test of time for many years.

Enjoy!

Phenomenal Handclap Band - Judge Not

(Ray Mang Special Mix)

Ride on the Jaguar!

Totally love this track from 1999.

So simple in it's make up, but so damn effective.

It just gradually builds and never once loses that engagement.

A mixture between proggy and trance, without ever committing to either.

One of those tracks which always sounds great when heard out.

Enjoy!

DJ Rolando - Knights Of The Jaguar

(Original Mix)

I need you to hold me, to keep me from drowning again!

Staying on the JV vibe, after fantastic remix.

When on form there are very few better.

This is another epic masterpiece which takes you on a crazy, stop, start, build, peak journey, coupled with some amazing piano.

Another one I never had the pleasure of hearing in a club, but I could well imagine it would have raised the roof.

When I'm falling, I'm weak and I'm dying,

I need you to hold me, to keep me from drowning again!

Pure class!

Jars of Clay - Flood

(Junior Vasquez DMC Mix)

Monday 1 November 2021

Get on board the Peace Train!

I know that JV quite often splits opinion with some claiming he was overhyped and others insisting on God-like status.

Regardless of your opinion there is no doubt that he created some epic masterpieces.

This is one of his finest from 1996 and is close to 14 minutes of total genius.

Talk about a journey, it not only showcases Dolly's fantastic vocals, but creates a build up and vibe that is pure electric, including so many tempo changes.

It must have been devastating on the dancefloor.

A total PCC masterpiece!

Enjoy!

Dolly Parton - Peace Train

(Junior's Arena Anthem)

You are an obsession, you're my obsession!

More greatness from Mr Wiltshire.

Here he takes and old 80s cult classic pop track and as per usual transforms it into an absolutely epic dancefloor monster.

Without doubt one of the very best remixers of our generation whether under the guises of Jimmy Gomez, Freemasons, The Delorme or the other countless aliases.

This is fierce, respecting the great vocals of the original and sprinkling in lots of his customary high quality piano breaks.

Just lovely.

Animotion - Obsession

(James Wiltshire's '94 Club Mix)

Music is my life, it's the joy I have inside!

Throw two of my favourite remixers together and you're bound to get something special and this certainly doesn't disappoint.

You're instantly hooked from the opening police type sirens, then lush piano chords, throw in some great vocals and you have your bonafide PCC.

Great track from 1992, which still feels electric today, nearly 30 years on.

Enjoy!

Clivillés & Cole - Keep It Coming

(Brothers In Rhythm Remix)

You're broken when your hearts not open!

Unquestionably one of the biggest stars to grace plant earth.

Like her or loathe her there was never any question of her talent and Chameleon capability to create new scenes and trends.

Despite having an element of dance in her tracks, there were very few which were big club tracks.

This is one of the better remixes courtesy of Victor Calderone which creates a well produced progressive builder.

Enjoy!

Madonna - Frozen

(Extended Club Mix)

It’s difficult these days...to get..good grass

Staying on that laid back Balearic theme.

Always used to love this track from 1994.

A little commercial, but very endearing nonetheless.

"If you believe in me, if you believe in love!"

Funky and catchy in equal measures, with some great double entendre vocal samples!

Enjoy!

Wubble U - Petal

(English Rose)

Bliss out and enjoy!

I've not posted anything Balearic for a while, so here's and old favourite from 1990.

A delightful laid back summer vibe track with some lush Spanish guitar and that all so important Balearic groove.

There's some great musical arrangements on this track.

Enjoy!

The Blow Monkeys - La Passionara

Ready for take off?

Another mind blowing remix from the TE's.

To be honest I could post pretty much every single remix they have done as their quality is always so magnificently high (overtime I'll probably do this, but be warned as they have many, many top class remixes).

This one from 1997 is in their usual fierce and pounding fashion, gradually building and then peaking to a fantastic breakdown.

TE's were definitely one of the best remixers of their ilk.

This is a great track and the African chant vocals really mix well with the piano chords and the drum rolls.

Top notch!

Enjoy!

Wes - Alane

(Trouser Enthusiasts Orgasmic Apparition Mix)

I'm holding, still holding on!

Staying on the Incognito and S-Man theme, here's another house classic and another Hac fave.

As with all Incognito tracks, great vocals and great lyrics.

House music with soul and substance.

Another classic track from 1994.

Enjoy!

Incognito - Pieces Of A Dream

(Roger Sanchez Seven Minutes Of Soul Remix)

Babe I know you've got that something!

Superb high quality house music.

Incognito produced some great tracks always with great vocals.

Couple this with the top class remixing of the S-Man and you have a sure-fire PCC.

The lyrics are also class.

I've taken time to say goodbye to my sadness, now I know I'm free!

This is a great track and was a biggie Hac tune.

Enjoy!

Incognito - Giving It Up

(Uplifting Club Mix)
