Ready for the legend?

A superb piece of house music from 1994.

Very typical of a lot of the tracks which came out on Strictly Rhythm, with a delicious deep house groove and laced with superb piano.

A great track which really hits you hard.

I always loved a track which changes tempo mid track, which this does wickedly several times.

Get on it!

Loop 7 - The Theme

(The Legend)

Woh-a-ho!

Fantastic track from 1994 and a great piece of progressive house.

Those were such exciting times in clubs, as the euphoria of the early days of acid house and the original rave scene lead onto the dressed up era of clubbing.

Back To Basics in Leeds was at the forefront of this new era and Alistair Cooke and Ralph Lawson were two great resident DJs leading the way who typified this new progressive house sound.

This track is one of many  that were absolutely electric on the dancefloor of that period.

Woh-a-ho!

Enjoy!

First Life - Be One Of Us

(The Immortal Mix)

Clap your hands, stomp your feet!

Superb track from the Godfather of Hip-House - Fast Eddie.

The acid bass in this is lethal.

I loved Hip House it was just such a great sub-genre.

Come on "Clap your hands, stomp your feet!"

33 years on this still rocks!

Fast Eddie - Hip House '89

(Julian ''Jumpin'' Perez Mix)

Come on now!

A superb and very underrated and underplayed house gem from 1990.

A great groove, great vocals, some exquisite piano this should have been bigger.

It's a great little track that has stood the test of time.

Ed Terry - Show Me Love

(The Palace De Beauté Mix)

Piano vibes in the house!

3 minutes of piano-tastic grooves from 1987.

Still sounds great today and would still go down a storm on all decent clubland dancefloors.

Quality is permanent.

Get on it!

DJ Lelewel - House Machine

(Piano Dub Version)

Roll the drums!

Love them or hate them DJ Flavours always produced some belting tracks.

This ones from 1995.

Certainly not for the house purists amongst you, but always very catchy.

Too many samples to mention on this one, but it all makes for a great track laced with lots of great piano.

Roll the drums!

Get on it!

DJ Flavours - Rhythm Flow

Trance anthem in the house!

Can't quite believe that I've not posted this before now (apologies!).

One of the true all time trance classics.

Veracocha was of course an alias of the great trance legends Ferry Corsten and Vincent De Moor.

A massive Oakey track on many of his sets around this era - 1999.

Still sounds great to this very day and probably always will.

This was when trance was at it's peak.

Good old days!

Ayla - Ayla

(Veracocha Remix)

You're a shy child!

Sensational track from that stellar year of 1991.

This track should have been much bigger than it was as it's pretty immense.

It was one which always sounded amazing out.

Beautiful piano chords, some great vocals from Linda Wright and a really great house vibe.

It still sounds great over 30 years on.

A real under appreciated house classic!

The Sound Foundation - Quiet Child

(48 Hours Mix)

I can do it better baby!

Love this just great instant house music.

Great vocals by Daisy Dee and some great piano.

It's lively, energetic and very catchy.

Quite a funny little cheesey rap in it as well.

Possibly not one for the purists, but still good all the same.

The Daisy Project Ft. Daisy Dee - Do It Better

(12'' Club Remix)

I'll come with you to the promised land!

Great track from 1996 which was big with most of the nations top jocks.

A great little groove with some lush vocals by Jan Johnston, another great dance music vocalist.

I'll come with you to the promised land!

Sub Merge - Take Me By The Hand

(Vocal Mix)

To be, got to be free!

Love this from 1996.

Nush were always on it and produced and remixed some great tracks.

This is typical of their skippy progressive house sound.

To be, got to be free!

Move & Motion - Refunk

(Nush Remix)

Be a Free Spirit!

Another fantastic track mainly due to the Queen of the Trance Vocal - Ms. Maria Nayler.

She has such a wonderful angelic vocal that it brings any track to life and is the perfect compliment to pounding trance.

This ones from 2003 and nearly twenty years on it still sounds great.

Enjoy!

Marc et Claude feat. Maria Nayler - Free Spirit

(Marc van Linden Remix)

Feel the paradise!

Great little skippy house number from 1989 which still sounds great.

Some lush piano and a some great breathy vocals.

Paradise? Not far off.

A great little track.

M.B.G. - This Is Paradise

(Classic Age Remix)

Your light shines on!

Very sad to hear of the passing of Joyce Sims this week.

She has a hugely talented vocalist and adorned many great disco and house tracks.

This is a really smooth little house ditty from 1990, less fierce than most of TT's remixes, but still very good all the same.

R.I.P Joyce your place in dance music history will always be remembered.

Joyce Sims - All About Love

(Todd Terry Vocal Remix)

Special - yes DM certainly is!

Like so many before it, a pretty bang average house track is saved by yet another superb Morales remix.

This one is from 1995 and it contains all the great things we'd expect from a Morales remix with superb percussion and laden with superb piano.

I'm not a big fan of the male vocals, but as mentioned DM saves the day.

Get on it!

Robbie Craig - Special

(DM Remix)

I'm flying away!

A touch on the commercial side, but still a really great track from 2000.

Again superb vocals and a nice driving rhythm with some lovely ethereal chants.

It is a real feel good factor track.

22 years on it still sounds great!

Planet Funk - Chase The Sun

(Extended Club Mix)

Wishing you a Fine Day!

The legend that is Steve Anderson turns ok-ish pop track into an epic piano laden dance anthem.

This is another track which should have been bigger in clubs.

You can really feel the BiR tinge in this.

The ethereal vocals were very unique at the time back in 1992.

Enjoy!

Opus III - It's A Fine Day

(Club Remix - The Spiralling Of Winter Ghosts)

How Soon?

More groovilicious delight from the Legend that was Andrew Weatherall (R.I.P).

Transforming a pretty damn good indie band into a dancefloor smash.

Andy was the master at that.

This was all ground-breaking stuff at the time.

Indie dance as we know and love it!

Groove on!

 My Bloody Valentine - Soon

(The Andrew Weatherall Mix)

Give me a song!

Possibly a bit on the cheesey side of trance, but saved by the epic vocals by the delectable Maria Nayler.

Maria was without doubt one of the best trance vocalists, just pure ethereal aural delight.

This one dates from 2002 and as mentioned is a bit commercial for my tastes, but catchy all the same.

Motion 3 Feat Maria Nayler - Babyland

(72 Attack Mix)

No I won't play this game!

I always loved Mary J, she was super talented, hence when given the Morales remix treatment you know it is going to be pure quality.

One of her less well known tracks and I'm not sure why this wasn't bigger in clubs as it's absolutely top drawer.

A really great track and a superb piano laden remix, it should have been bigger.

Got on it!

Mary J. Blige - Right Now

(David Morales Classic Remix)

"Everything will be perfect, Tonight and forever"

 Another glorious piece of trance.

Lange remixes were alsways absolute top drawer.

This is a great track and the angelic vocals by Tracey Carmen just melt you when they kick in.

Late 90's truly was an era of fantastic trance.

This still sounds amazing 23 years on.

"Everything will be perfect,

Tonight and forever"

Lost Witness - Happiness Happening

(Lange Remix)

1,2,3 Go!

More greatness from the legend that was Andrew Weatherall (R.I.P).

This is a great floaty, dreamy piece of progressive house. very much in the Sabres style.

Less of K-Klass and more of Sabres in this remix.

Top drawer though.

K-Klass - 1, 2, 3, (Sabres Of Paradise Remix 1)

Catch the pigeon!

Superb bit of grooviness by Kid Creole and his Coconuts and with a nice little remix by the legend that is Graeme Park.

This one was first out in 1982, although the Parky remix was done in 1993.

Get funking to this one!

Kid Creole and the Coconuts - Stool Pigeon

(Parkside Birdhouse Mix)

Stop? No more please!

More quality from the TE's, they just didn't do bad remixes.

Every thing they touched was superb and this is no different.

This one from 2000 is very much in their trademark, thumping, pumping, driving energetic style, building to a superb peak.

They were just trance masters of the highest quality.

Get on it!

Jon Secada - Stop

(Trouser Enthusiasts Club Mix)

You, You and Me Baby!

Superb laid back groove from 1977.

Totally timeless and still sounds amazing.

The production on these tracks were superb and hence why they stand the test of time so well.

Great remix by Tom Moulton.

Very Balearic in it's essence this one.

Enjoy!

Claudja Barry - Love For The Sake Of Love

(Tom Moulton Mix)
