A great Balearic track, with some lush piano from 1990.

Dave Stewart was of course better known as one half of Eurythmics, but this is a quality track which is quite Bowie-esque in it's delivery.

Living the Hi Life

Another classic BBG production. Another typically quality Hi Life release. Featuring West End musical star the late Erin Lordan on vocals, BBG's original mix (which I have somewhere, but cannot seem to locate at present) is a soaring trancer that received an unusual volume of commercial radio play in the weeks leading up to its release. Multiple mixes abound - from Atlas, Paganini Traxx and BBG themselves - but my favourite is this version from Chicane, who dons his Disco Citizens guise to deliver an archetypal lush, laidback epic. Chicane's production is so suited to the original track that it is quite difficult to consider the fact that this is in actual fact a remix. Unfortunately, this was to be one of the last releases on the Hi Life label, until it folded later in '97 - its closure occasioning BBG's follow up single, 'Do Anything', to remain forever unreleased.

Love & Snappiness

Arguably one of the most influential Balearic numbers of the last twenty or so years, 'Snappiness' was first released in 1990, percolating amongst taste-makers for a number of years until a more prolific re-issue ensued some six years since. The Hi Life re-release featured the tastefully updated 'Revisited dub', alongside some of the original ambient mixes, as well as a Hardfloor-aping, rather head-banging version from Zen Terrorists. Featured here is the 'Revisited edit' (for some reason my CD single of this track does not include the full length dub, though Discogs insists that it ought to); and one of the lilting, balearic versions that made this track so indispensable and special the first time around.

Now I get sent loads of tracks, some superb, mostly good and one or two a bit naff, but all are always fully appreciated.
However, every now and then someone sends me a track which I haven't heard before and one that totally blows my socks off.
Well this is one such track. A big shout out to Jason for sending me this one, nice one fella.
The track is absolutely top notch, very much in a Chris and James stylee, (yeah it totally rocks), with a great build up and a banging pounding anthemic feel .
Some fantastic vocals by Toni Childs (pictured), it's an out and out club stormer.
Trust me you'll love this one.

I hope you all like this one - as it certainly looks like a beautiful morning outside and what better way to start it off with then listening to this track.
The track is one of the most uplifting you could wish for - with some beautiful vocals.
It just has a really sensational feel about it, full of atmosphere, full of hope, very inspiring and most definitely very uplifting.
Whether in the car or in the house turn it up loud, open those windows and feel the inspiration.
It is indeed a beautful morning!!!
I've included 2 mixes which are both very good, although I think that the BBG mix slightly edges it, as it is a bit more instant and a bit more vocally, with some lovely piano. The Fluke mix is slightly more floaty, dreamy, but stll very good.
Enjoy - because if you don't like this one I'll be shocked!!
