This is what a wise man had to say!

This one has already been posted by one of my old co-contributors many years ago when the blog was in it's early days.

He posted the Diss-Cuss remix which I'm not overly keen on.

This mix from 1994 is much better and is very much more in the classic house vibe which I feel suits Eve and her tremendous vocals best.

Like most of her tracks it's a classy piece of vocal house and still sounds great.

Fine remix by Evolution as always.

This was co-written by Boy George and was originally intended to be a Culture Club track which never saw the light of day.

(Evolution Extended Mix)

I hear your voice!

A fine track from 1996.

Evolution always produced great tracks.

This is like so many of those great tracks from mid 90's in that Shiva, BT, style.

Long journeys of tracks building slowly and then not quite peaking but still creating that feel good factor.

The type of tracks Sasha and Diggers were playing back then, good but not quite my bag.

Great vocals from Lisa Millet here also.

Higher, take me higher!

Surprised that I haven't posted this one already.

A huge track from 1990 and Sasha's first foray into the remix studio.

It's a superb track, much as you'd expect from the type of music Sasha was playing then (the good old days!)

Get on it!

There's no way you can live without it!

Love this, just such pleasant lush uplifting piano house from 1992.

Evolution produced some cracking tracks over the years.

If you like quality house music this is for you.

There's no way you can live without it!

Come on everybody dance!

A bonafide club classic, this was always awesome on the dancefloor.
That piano riff was always to die for, cue the obligatory "hands in the air".
Top notch.

Summer Vibes

Given it's such a beautiful morning I thought it would be apt to post a summery number, despite the fact that this is inevitably the last decent weekend of the year, weather-wise. Vocalist Jayn Hanna is perhaps best remember for the proggy '96 classic 'Lovelight', but 'River of Tears' slipped by almost unnoticed on promo only in mid-1999. Produced by Evolution, the original mixes are a bit too meandering for my tastes, but hidden away on the flip-side was this gorgeous house re-invention from Grant Nelson. This track has a real summer vibe to it. Also featured here is the follow up to 'Lovelight', in the shape of the equally classic 'Lost Without You', a track that surfaced at the beginning of 1997 and remains one of Evolution's best productions, in my opinion.

Are you ready for the greatest Acapella in club history!!!

I'm sorry folks, but I won't listen to anyone who disagrees with me on this one.
This is the greatest acapella to ever hit clubland.
It was absolutely hammered by all DJs in all clubs, and overlayed some many tracks.
It's quite simply a fantastic track. I have so many great memories of hearing this in clubs.
I think it was Sasha who used to overlay it on Evolution - Metropolis which was awesome.
Keen to hear other comments of tracks which were played under this.
I've upped Evolution - Metropolis again (it's been on the blog for a while), so you can listen to both as necessary or even overlay them yourself.
"So if you go out tonight......"
"Tell the DJ......to put the BRASS DISK ON!"
"Put it on, Brass Disk"
Enjoy people!!

Another classic

If you ever heard Sasha in the early 90s, you'd of been sure to have heard him play this.
An absolute monster of a track with a great build up and breakdown and was very reminiscent of his sets in those days.

Great DJ, great track. Enjoy.
(Get the picture? Evolution!!)
