There was a period in the mid-2000s when the Freemasons totally ruled the roost for converting not so great commercial tracks into dancefloor delights.
Anyone who knows the PCC blog will be well aware of my huge admiration for James Wiltshire's aka Jimmy Gomez remix work.
This is a corking track with clever use of the Kariya sample, a catchy vocal hook and a spanking bit of piano.
Intoxicated, accelerated!
Right on!
Herd & Fitz featuring Abigail Bailey - I Just Can't Get Enough
There are lots of artists and remixers who get posted over and over on the PCC blog and that isn't because there is a lack of quality out there, it's just that their tracks are just so amazingly good and deserve the recognition and promotion.
I've often waxed lyrical about the musical genius of James Wiltshire and here he creates another spellbinding track alongside his Freemason's buddy Russell Small.
This is a track of epic proportions with beautiful vocals by Levana Wolf.
It's the sort of track when one listen is never enough.
Used to love this track as a youngster in 1985 and here it is with a wonderful re-working my the genius that is James Wiltshire.
Not a massive re-working to be honest and probably not his finest remix, but it was always a great track and hence anything it enhance it's danceability is good for me.
Here he takes and old 80s cult classic pop track and as per usual transforms it into an absolutely epic dancefloor monster.
Without doubt one of the very best remixers of our generation whether under the guises of Jimmy Gomez, Freemasons, The Delorme or the other countless aliases.
This is fierce, respecting the great vocals of the original and sprinkling in lots of his customary high quality piano breaks.
Great remix through a collaboration between 2 of my all time fave remixers Chris Day (the Chris from Chris & James) and James Wiltshire (aka Jimmy Gomez, Freemasons).
They were without doubt 2 of the stand out remix talents of the 90s.
This collaboration as the Handbag Enthusiasts takes and old Aztec Camera track and gives it some dancefloor edge.
Not quite up there with their very best remixes, but pretty damn good regardless.
"Never give up... it's such a wonderful life".
First time I've posted in ages, but back with a bang.
A cracking track this one, with some Freemasons magic.
ThePCC blog still rolls on and will continue to bring some corking tunes in the future!
Now I've been meaning to post this for a while, as it's a bonafide club classic and was quite simply a stunning piece of house music, which was widely played in all the nations finest clubs and by all the top DJ's. The Morales remix was always the one that was widely played and rightly so, as it is awesome. It has a stunning intro, some beautiful piano and of course some great vocals by India. A true club classic.
Then recently I came across The Delorme Club 4 Life remix and think that this version is probably even better, although in a slightly different more rockier/club vibe.
It keeps the same feel as the original, but the piano is just stunning and it builds and builds to a huge piano breakdown, quite simply it hits exactly the right spot.
So which do you think is the best version?
Morales or The Delorme???
I prefer the Delorme version, although they are both fantastic tracks.
I'll run a poll for you to vote on it for a bit of fun or leave your comments in the comments box.
