Nick Bracegirdle's Disco Citizen's work was another level and so much better than his more commercial front as Chicane.

This is another great track and although not quite as good as some of his best Disco Citizens tracks previously posted it is still pretty tasty all the same.

Another Disco Citizens classic.

I much prefer Nick Bracegirdle's work under his Disco Citizens moniker as opposed to his work as Chicane.

The Disco Citizens work was so much more underground and layered with great piano.

This one takes a while to build, but when that piano kicks it just sets on fire!

Quality track from 1997 courtesy of a quality Disco Citizens remix (weren't they all).

As good as Chicane were I always preferred Nick Bracegirdle's work under his Disco Citizens alias as it always felt a little bit more underground and less commercial.

As well as a good remix this also has some fine vocals from Sonya Madan probably better known as the lead vocalist in 80s Britpop band Echobelly.

 Another track which I'm surprised I've not posted until now, as this was a huge fave of mine.

As good as the vocals are in the original mix, this was always the mix for me and I always loved the Disco Citizens work which was always a bit more underground (less commercial) than Nick (Bracegirdle) producing under the Chicane moniker.

About this track well it is an absolute monster of a track from 1995 which just builds and builds until it peaks with a beautiful atmospheric trance vibe, with the introduction of subtle piano chords and then building again to a further peak when the strong in love vocals kick in, then building once more until you're in heaven!

I believe these guys have a mention on the site already with "Right Here, Right Now". personally this is my favourite track from Disco Citizens. Originally released in 1996, it got the revamp in 1997 and this remix is fantastic.

A lot of the music i have posted here so far has featured from 1995 to 1997 and probably one of my favourite periods in dance music. every week a track seemed to come out better than the week before!

Disco Citizenship

This stunning, ethereal floaty-trance number surfaced at the beginning of 1997 and received a rather low-key release on Edel. Chicane dons his Disco Citizens guise to deliver a sensational remix, not one of the best known Chicane re-works, but definitely one of the best, and a sorely underrated classic. In return for remixing the track, Luce Drayton provided vocals for the album version of 'Sunstroke' on Chicane's magnum opus 'Far From the Maddening Crowds'.

Living the Hi Life

Another classic BBG production. Another typically quality Hi Life release. Featuring West End musical star the late Erin Lordan on vocals, BBG's original mix (which I have somewhere, but cannot seem to locate at present) is a soaring trancer that received an unusual volume of commercial radio play in the weeks leading up to its release. Multiple mixes abound - from Atlas, Paganini Traxx and BBG themselves - but my favourite is this version from Chicane, who dons his Disco Citizens guise to deliver an archetypal lush, laidback epic. Chicane's production is so suited to the original track that it is quite difficult to consider the fact that this is in actual fact a remix. Unfortunately, this was to be one of the last releases on the Hi Life label, until it folded later in '97 - its closure occasioning BBG's follow up single, 'Do Anything', to remain forever unreleased.

Say it again!! Over and Over! Say it again!!

What a great tune. This once just makes you want to get up and chance.
It's one of those tunes that never fails to lift you.
Real simple, but catchy as hell.
It just builds slowly and then the piano bounces along - quite splendid.
Respect again to Harvs for finding this one for me. Top Man. Top Tune.
