What you thinking - absolutely nothing!

This was the video of our generation and we often used to play it at parties after a great nights clubbing.

We'd get the video out and put this into the VHS and be mesmerised by the video, watching it over and over.

Flowered Up - were certainly a key part of the whole Indie Dance generation of the early 90's. 

Whilst it was mainly centred around the Manchester/Northern scene and the Roses, Mondays, Inspirals, Northside, The Farm, The La's etc. Flowered Up were the London response and they did produce some quality tracks.

This was by far their best track and still sounds absolutely fantastic, this version still blows my socks off, remixed by the legend that is Lord Sabre (aka Andy Weatherall) - over 17 mins long but ever so epic.

A defining moment in club history and still the greatest music video ever made!

The best bit of the video for me was the "What you thinking - absolutely nothing!" bit, which just captured the scene.

Much respect for Mark Moore who was there at the very beginning of the scene and was always a great DJ with great eclectic taste.

His S'Express outings were always pretty good and although quite commercial they always had appeal.

This is a great remix by Lord Sabre (aka Andy Weatherall), with not much of the original, but a fine piece of work with some delightful piano.

We blew your mind!

 I always loved the Primals and have seen them live many times.

They are always chaotic, yet superb and Bobby G is a great front man.

Screamadelica was one of the great albums of our generation and one I played to death.

Whilst their tracks were more indie-dance than pure club, dropped at the right time in a set they could still be devastating.

This was one of my faves from Screamadelica.

I just love everything about it, the guitars, the piano, the sitar, the oriental feel, the sleazy Bobby G vocals and of course Mr Weatherall's fantastic remix/production.

Does anyone else thing Bobby sings, "Trip, Trip, Trip inside?"

The genius of Moby has only really hit me in recent years as I've come across more of his amazing tracks.

I'd previously failed to appreciate his outstanding ability to create such unique and effective tracks.

Hence when you get the genius of the Guvnor, Lord Sabre remixing one of his tracks you just know it's going to well, create "The Perfect Life" (at least for 8mins 36 secs).

This is truly a wonderful track.

True Balearic brilliance.

I've still got this on vinyl tucked away somewhere in my garage.

Just pure quality from start to finish.

Although lots of people raved about them, I wasn't always too big a fan of Sabres music, but this is superb.

I sincerely hope that you have a good one.
Until now I've resisted posting some of my favourite "Indie dance" tracks , but feel the time is about right to unleash some of these monster tracks.
This is one of my faves by a group which were totally unique and very ahead of their time back in the day (there'll be more of their tracks posted in the future) .
This one dates back to 1990 and is a cover of an old Neil Young song.
The single/album version is my favourite, which contains beautiful vocals, a superb melody, flowing piano and that great chuggy indie dance beat.
The Weatherall remix is a true PCC, very chilled.
The sample "the DJ eases a spliff from his lyrical lips and smilingly orders cease" is one which went down in clubland history and was also used on Oakey's Goa Mix if I remember correctly.

I just totally love this track.
Talk about a vibe.
It contains some wonderful saxophone, and has a wonderful feel throughout and of course that infectious scouse chatter.
A really clever piece of music - chillout perfection!!!

"One day a woman arrives unnanounced at the One Little Indian offices in London. She tells label boss Derek Birket that she wants a deal for her new single. Let's hear it then, he replies.

Instead of playing him a demo, she reads out, in a dour northern accent, her 'imperfect list'. Birket is blown away by the words, and decides to take a punt, offering her a tiny recording budget

I was a huge Mondays fan back in the day and saw them live several times notably at the G-Mex and also at Elland Road.

This was always my favourite Mondays track and certainly one of their most club based.
A truly sensational remix courtesy of the legends that are Mr Paul Oakenfold and Mr Andrew Weatherall (and Steve Osbourne), this was really the making of Oakey as a remixer.
The track well what can I say, it's absolutely storming, the piano is immense, the Hallelujah vocals are so sharp and effective. Then you've got usual unique drawal.
As you could imagine, this was massive down at the Hac!!!
Probably the great "indie" Club crossover track of it's generation.
Love it!!
