Dear Fellow Dance Music Lovers,
This blog brings you the best in Dance Music and Club Classics; from early 87 (back in the daze) through to the present day.
For all those who rocked it all night until the early hours, to those that lived for clubbing and couldn't wait for the weekend to arrive. Enjoy and leave any comments on the blog or contact direct by email at pureclubclassics@live.co.uk
Absolute banger of an old skool track and a big Sasha track back int'day!
This one is from 1990 and contains loads of great hands in the air piano.
Not dissimilar to a few other old skool tracks, but this one is a pretty unknown track and hopefully the PCC blog helps to share this with the wider dancefloor community!
That was such an exciting time musically as it was an era of people experimenting so much with all the new sounds and technology they were hearing.
The tracks back then mixed a bit of house, loads of samples and a bit of all sorts chucked together, all very raw but all very effective and most importantly still sounding great all these years on.
This is a real mish-mash of a whole load of different vibes, much just feels good!
Coco Steel & Lovebomb - Miracles (I Don't Believe In)
Cracking track from 1991 with some great ethereal vocals and a nice new beat vibe.
The Voodoo Child Mix is a great remix by Moby, gosh that boy had some talent and is behind so many amazing dance floor tracks and many that appear on the blog.
Some of the tracks from this era just had a special feel to them and this is one very much in that category.
I've also included the HP Saucey Mix, although not as good, still has a nice feel and is a little more Ibizan Balearic in style, Justin Robertson on the remix on that one.
Both great tracks well worth a listen and rightly deserve PCC status!
Staying on the Emotion - Nick Hussey theme, here's another old skool classic from 1991.
I'm surprised I've not posted this before now as this was a big track and one played often.
Sounds a little dated now, but that piano choons vibe from 1991 was one of the greatest times in clubbing history and the vibe in clubs back then was second to none.
The good old days when hands in the air was obligatory.
Love this track it was from an old mix tape by DJ Franklin.
He made some of the absolute best mix tapes back in the early 90s.
I still listen to them loads now and they still sound amazing.
This was mixed into S.U.N - Vision, a huge favourite of mine and then mixed into another track I totally love, but have never manged to track down.
Well about this track, it's just sensational, great vocals by Chazzie, remix and production by Roger Sanchez and just some delightful old skool piano throughout.
Throw in loads of samples, some great shout outs and you have a total PCC.
Still sounds amazing even though it's 35 years old.
I saw the Michael bio-movie last night and it just emphasised what a fantastic artist MJ was.
It pains me that his amazing legacy is somewhat tarnished and he's not remembered in the way that much lesser musicians were.
He was a truly one in a generation artist and I only have positive thoughts and beliefs of him.
His vocals and whole presence in the songs he created were just on another level.
This is a much more laid back, very soulful and much more Balearic than dancefloor, but nonetheless wonderful.
Michael will always remain as one of the great artists to have walked this plant and I will only ever have the utmost respect for his influence on music.
It's been a bit of a Graeme Park love in today on the blog, but that's becuase the great man has such fine msucial tastes and will always be one of my favourite DJs.
This is a sensational new track which sounds amazing and has been featured on Parky's great radio show.
Great production and remix work by the disco legend that is Dave Lee (formerly known as Joey Negro).
This is a fantastic piece of disco-tastic delirium.
It's lively, funky, energetic and throbs and pulses in all the right places.
Never liked this track, but this is an awesome remix and was another track which went down a storm last night when Parky dropped it.
I love the fierce new beats in this and it is a fine remix by David Penn who is certainly one of the best in the business at the moment.
This track used to be a really annoying ear worm, but this mix totally transforms it with some delightful piano chords it is now a proper anthem and certainly worthy of PCC status.
I saw Graeme Park DJ live last night for the first time since the Hacienda days in the 90's (apart than a few Hacienda Classical nights that I've been to).
It was at the Old Woollen in Farsley, Leeds and the great man didn't let me down and played some absolute corkers. The vast majority of tracks he played are already on the blog, but I'm going to post a few choice cuts which went down a storm.
It was a great event with an older crowd who knew their music and Parky was just pure class.
This one was great to hear and comes courtesy of a fine bit of modern tinkering by the Sgt.
The "wrapped in your arms" bit always hits me deep.
The instruments and production on this are just exquisite, not to mention the glorious vocals.
Amazing to think this track is nearly 50 years old, totally timeless.
