Bring on the Russians.....

I remember hearing Tony Ross open his set with this track at an Ark event in Bradford in 1991.
It's an absolutely beautiful piece of music, very dramatic and yes it feels very Soviet.
Not a typical club track, but a great way to open your set, although I do remember it being fairly quite and difficult to hear above all the noise and excitement of the clubbers.
I was a big fan of Electronic - bringing together two of my favourite bands (New Order/Barney Sumner and The Smiths/Jonny Marr).
Jonny Marr was a musical genius and one of the greatest guitarist's of his generation.
Electronic produced some fine stuff.

How about this for a first post from me. 

Massive tune. 

For a time in 1996 this was the tune of choice at clubs that played at the harder end of the house spectrum. 

I can remember hearing it at Ark several times, and it was a highlight of the last ever Ark held on 22nd Feb 1997 at the Leeds University Refectory. 

A favourite with DJ's such as Sy, Rob Tissera etc, it also made it into the box of Jeremy Healy. 

The reason for that? Well its not the lyrics. 

It might be the crunching beats, it might be the 134 BPM pace that never lets go for a second, or it may be the break that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. 

However I reckon its the bells. 

They may not actually be church bells, but the bells add a certain something to this tune that elevates it above and way beyond most other early hard house. 

Remixed several times since, with a corking Tony De Vit mix from 1998, this is the original and best mix.

We've finally found The Big Wave!!!

I've been searching for this track for many months and a huge shout out to my friends out there for tracking this down. A big shout out to Gav also for his assistance in this.

The track is a real classic and extremely rare indeed. Currently exchanging hands for well in excess of £100.

It was a huge track Up North at nights like Ark in Leeds and Bradford - when it was typcially played as last track of the night, dropped by Gary Norman - respect fella.

A true Pure Club Classic - Enjoy!!

P.S. It's very similar to the Sweet Louise version which I posted on the blog several months ago, but this version is by far the best!

P.P.S. Not sure which Louise the song is about, but Louise Redknapp is probably one of the most famous and she is pretty Sweet (pretty hot infact!!). Lol.

Here's a choon that rocked the dancefloors across the nation back in 91.
I remember being at an Ark night in Bradford and this absolutely rocked the place.
Everybody and I mean everybody went completely "radio rental".
What a track!!
