Nothing original about this and it pinches from everywhere, yet still has a great feel to it.
Lots of "the house that Jack Built" lyrics and lots of bouncy piano.
All make for a really catchy track with lots going on.
As mentioned far from original, but super all the same!
The Italian Ecstasy – This Is My House
(Maxi Version)
A real old skool classic from 1991.
This one was equally applicable to the Balearic laid back scene and/or the Italian House piano scene.
A great track which certainly stands the test of time and still sounds amazing today.
Enjoy!
Don Carlos – Alone
(Paradise)
They made some great stuff and also quite of bit of harder edge stuff which wasn't quite my bag.
This one is a real old skool classic with a lovely piano drop.
Not a massive track and one I heard out too often, but one which still sounds great and should have definitely been bigger.
However, that has always been of the key purposes of the PCC Blog, unearthing or reinvigorating old forgotten gems.
Hands un in the air for this one!
A Homeboy A Hippie And A Funki Dredd - U Know
A quality bit of old skool with some great piano from 1993.
A proper hands in the air old piano classic and I must say underplayed and underrated little gem.
I don't ever remember it played out but it may well of been.
A proper little banger though, so do enjoy!
Interesting little fact about this one, it was recorded on a Sunday morning in 1993 after an all-nighter at Bowlers Trafford Park Manchester.
Had many a cracking night at Bowlers back int'day - proper old skool!
Viva la old skool!
K.O.T.T. - Time To Let Go
(Original White Label)
Great vocals and just a great uplifting positivity about the whole track.
Not a track that was too widely played, but a bit of hidden gem.
Take me to paradise!
Yes please!
M.C.J. featuring Sima - (To Yourself) Be Free
(Dream remix)
Using many samples and cooking them all up nicely.
It's a catchy little vibe, maybe a tad too commercial, but endearing all the same.
Enjoy!
S - Bam - I Want My Freedom
(Remix)
This one didn't have as much floor time as it should have, as it's a corking old skool track.
A nice catchy rhythm, some nice female vocals and a real funky groove and some nice piano.
I hope you feel the same way!
Gary Wallace Presents Ecstacy - Gotta Have You
This was a track which was really big in clubs back in the day and was always one that was popular with a lot of top jocks.
Some good piano breaks and those well known vocals.
Always sounded good on the dancefloor and was a good track in warm up sets.
Said don't you want it!
There are quite a few different mixes of this, but this is the best.
Blackwood - I Feel You
(N.Y. Mix)
This one does feel a bit dated and only just sneaks in to make the grade.
It's just the piano that saves it, as I'm not much into the vocals.
I'm risking my credibility with these last 2 posts, so I'll make sure my next few are on the money.
Albertino Featuring David Syon -Your Love Is Crazy
(Bueno Mix)
It has lots of charm, lots of energy and as mentioned is a tad too commercial, but very likeable all the same and just sneaks enough with enough to give it PCC status.
Probably not my strongest post, but a catchy little (and unknown) track.
Enjoy (hopefully!)
Active - Side By Side
(Club Mix)
Not to much original about this one and it samples from everywhere, but it is very catchy and creates a great old skool vibe.
Lots of Italo-house piano and just a great little groove.
How do you see me now?
Tracy Blue - To Myself
(Club Version)
Just an old skool banger which kicks straight out of the blocks.
Piano-tastic throughout, energetic and lively, just not overly original.
However, it's exactly the sort of track you could drop at anytime of the night to get the floor rockin'.
Enjoy!
U-People - Freedom
(House Mix)
Maybe, but still very catchy and enjoyable.
Great piano breakdown and just a good feel good track.
Do you really want to live forever?
Enjoy!
Interactive - Forever Young
(Red Jerry 12" Mix)
Piano-tastic in every sense.
This one rocks from start to finish and has of course some delightful piano.
Northern Old Skool vibes in the place!
Right on!
Ultraworld - Northern Piano
(Hardcore Piano Mix)
Yes, it sounds a touch cheesy now, but didn't back int'day when it would rock the floor.
Not one of those which has aged well, but will always be a PCC in my mind as it certainly did the action back then.
Back to The End by public demand!
The End - You Drive Me Wild
(One And Only Mix)
This one is from 1990 and contains loads of great hands in the air piano.
Not dissimilar to a few other old skool tracks, but this one is a pretty unknown track and hopefully the PCC blog helps to share this with the wider dancefloor community!
A real old skool gem!
Dance Time - Sentimento Nuevo
I'm surprised I've not posted this before now as this was a big track and one played often.
Sounds a little dated now, but that piano choons vibe from 1991 was one of the greatest times in clubbing history and the vibe in clubs back then was second to none.
The good old days when hands in the air was obligatory.
Great times, great memories.
Emotion - We're On The Move
A little on the cheesy side, but nice all the same.
Some great piano and nice catchy female vocals, look out for the key change as well.
Not one which was played out to often but a catchy little number and credible enough to claim PCC status.
Nick Hussey behind this and many a great old skool track.
There ain't no need to worry!
Emotion - Release Yourself
Well about this track, it's just sensational, great vocals by Chazzie, remix and production by Roger Sanchez and just some delightful old skool piano throughout.
Throw in loads of samples, some great shout outs and you have a total PCC.
Still sounds amazing even though it's 35 years old.
Pure class!
Ooh I say!
Beatboxx feat Chazzie - Keep On Jumpin
(Subclub Mix)
Two corking old skool tracks from 1991 on a double A white label, both are killer tracks which would smash up any decent club dancefloor.
These two should have been much bigger as they are both really great tracks, filled with banging piano and perfect to create total dancefloor delirium.
I don't particular remember hearing them played out back int'day but know they would still go down a storm.
Any young DJs out there who are looking for a unique track send their crown wild, look no further.
Compulsion has some really spellbinding piano, but don't overlook Razor Happy which is also razor sharp!.
Get on it!
Zenana – Compulsion
Zenana - Razor Happy
