We can fly!

Matt Darey was one of the trance guru's from the late 90's and his productions and remixes were always epic.

Here he is under his Lost Tribe moniker creating another sublime piece of banging ethereal trance, with some superb piano.

This one's from 1997 and was one of those tracks which fitted well in the Dream music genre.

We can fly!

Broke my heart now I'm aching for you?

Well, I always liked Erasure and also liked Matt Darey, hence this should work.

I think it does, perhaps a touch too cheesy/poppy and not enough hard edge trance, but it is still a pretty decent track and worthy of PCC status.

What do you reckon?

More excellence from Matt!

Another banger from Matt Darey from 1999.

His remixwork from that era was always of such an impeccably high standard.

He certainly was the trance guru of that time.

This one is in his usual inimitable style, "rockin' the gaff".

Enjoy!

Some rules should never be ignored!

A top track and to be fair Tin Tin Out usually put out some top notch stuff.

This is pulsing and throbbing in their usual style, taking you on a journey constantly building bringing in the vocals, then piano, drum roll and then take off.

Great remix by Matt Darey who was on fire around this time in 1998.

Great vocals by Shelley Nelson also.

Top notch track!

Staying on the faster tempo, here's a great piece of Trance just as we like it.

Fantastic breathy vocals and as ever a great remix by Matt Darey.

A really great pumping piece of quality trance music, an essential component of a well balanced dance music diet.

20 years old, it still knocks the pants of any of this commercial crap trance produced nowadays.

Enjoy!

Breathe Again

This track was an absolute bugger to get hold of from start to finish. Released on 2 x 12" promo in Autumn 1998 on the 3 Beat label, it was - for some reason - denied a commercial release. It was, however, released in Australia - cue faxing one's credit card details to some obscure record shop in Cairns in a bid to acquire it on CD single. Some weeks later, it finally arrived. Tekara is a sobriquet of trance aficionado Matt Darey, and the original version of this track is a melodious breakbeat affair in a similar vein to his remix of 'The Silence' by Mike Koglin (released around the same time). What elevates 'Breathe In You' is the stunning Lost Tribe remix, which injects some much needed oomph and transforms the track into a stratosphere cruising monster which even features something of a wah-wah bassline common to speed garage at the time. 'Breathe In You' is a just killer, the very definition of euphoria trance and a sorely overlooked classic.

Darey's Produce

This vocal trancer did some severe damage back in the summer of 1999, thanks in no small measure to a truly epic remix from Matt Darey. In a year where trance music peaked, to the point of saturation, 'Sun is Shining' still stood out as being a sweeping anthem of the first order. There was also a remix released from Brothers In Rhythm, but that was nowhere near as interesting as this little belter. Quite an appropriate posting given that the sun has, for once, been shining.

Wilde about this??

Most people of my age will have fond memories of Kim Wilde, she was pretty hot stuff when we were youngsters growing up back in 1981.
She was always very pop and never produced anything in the dance mode, but here's a cracking remix from 1995 from Matt Darey which really kicks.
It uses Kim's vocals really well yet retains a strong club vibe.
Ok so it's a touch EuroPop, but it's very catchy and remains firmly on the side of club cred!!
Enjoy!!!
P.S. I believe there is also a T-empo remix of this. If anyone has a copy, I'd appreciate a link.

Trance at it's best, as we know and love it!!

It's been a while since we had some good trance posted, so here's an absolute cracker.
This was a huge track for Oakey in 1999 and is another fantastic production by Matt Darey.
This track is under his Lost Tribe moniker.
It's very typical of his stuff, pumping, fast, energetic, but also filled with emotion and beautiful breakdowns into lovely piano and ethereal atmospherics.
The intro at 1:40 is amazing, pure pounding driving trance. Hold on to your hats and listen to the Gamemaster!!
Absolutely top notch.
There were plenty of remixes done of this, but the Original Mix is the one that does it for me.
Awesome!!!

First you had 1998 now you have 1999

After producing the awesome track that is 1998 - it then gets enhanced to 1999.
This continues the brilliance and takes it up another notch.
Turn off the telly, move the furniture and crank up the volume to rock out to this one.
Absolutely stompin'.
Dance music at it's rockin' best.
Feel the energy in this track, it'll knock your socks off.
Sheer quality!!!
Oakie used to rock the floors of the nation when he dropped this one in the mix.

Oh My Lord - What a track this is!!

If you ever heard Oakie playing on the live circuit circa 1998 - then you would have most certainly heard this track.
Quite simply a track of monstrous proportions.
Generally a bit faster and heavier than most choons on this blog, but this is none the less an absolute classic.
You only had to see the mayhem that this track caused on the dancefloor in clubs when it was dropped. The dancefloor would just erupt. Simply an awesome track - Rock on!!
Also there's lots of different remixes out there, but this one is the best.
