Masters of their trade!

When two trance guru's co-lab you know you are going to get something special.

Ferry Corsten and Tiësto working together under their Gouryella alias creating some of the standout tracks of that great trance era in the early 2000s.

This was a true classic which still sounds great 25 years on.

A monster of a track.

And I'm too perfect!

Now I don't think I've ever posted a current UK No.1, but I couldn't resist is with this one.

Another great track from Lola Young, not quite as good as "Conceited" but still very edgy.

The remix is good and just gives it that dancefloor appeal.

Commercial hell yeah, PCC just about (by the skin of it's teeth).

Enjoy!

Don't want to see the stars!

I'm on a bit of a trance theme, which isn't a bad thing as I've not posted that much trance recently.

Here's another real stomper.

Amy's vocals are just delightful and Tiësto's remix is a real throbbing piece of classic trance.

Don't want to see the night!

Are you sirius?

I always loved trance and those halcyon years of 1994 to 2000 were just amazing with some many epic tracks and fantastic producers.

I probably don't post enough trance on the PCC blog, but don't worry I've got literally hundreds cued up to post.

This one was a belter courtesy of an excellent remix by that man Tiesto.

Where is the sunshine?

Fantastic piece of trance from 1999, when Tiesto was right on it.

I used to love the "fizzy", "fuzzy" squelch of this track which was typical of a lot of Tiesto's sound.

This still sounds good 23 years on.

Pulsing, throbbing, bangin'!

All that's missing is the sunshine!

(Here in wet and windy, wintry old England)!

The greatest trance track of all time? Quite possibly!!

Now I don't make that statement likely as I've always been a huge fan of trance.
Most notably the type Oakey was playing in the late 90's and not the commercial crap.
This track has it all, a huge build, unbelievable breakdowns, the drum roll builds.
Totally immense.
(Tiesto and Corsten on the mix - Respect!)
If there's a better trance track let me know and I'll probably tell you that you're wrong!!
I know I've posted this before, but I couldn't resist a re-post.
Enjoy, they don't come any better.

Bring out the Violins!!

Now you'll all be familiar with Ferry Corsten's alter ego - System F and the massively popular "Out Of The Blue" which was one of the big trance tunes of the late 90's.
However, you may be less familiar with this remix, which IMHO is exquisite.
I've always been a sucker for tracks that slow down in the middle and those tracks are always superb on the dance floor; "Bells of New York" and "Carte Blanche" are just two that spring to mind (both already posted on the PCC blog).
This is equally impressive, in that it is fast paced pumping trance, which then breakdowns to some amazing Violin strings and piano, which just blows your mind.
I believe that Tiesto was behind the remix. Nice work fella, very impressive indeed.
I just those those strings!!
A big shout out to Simon for this track suggestion. Top work fella.
Enjoy people!!!

Time for something a little harder!!!

Well I couldn't go on upping nice chilled beautiful tingly paiano tracks all night could I??
This one seriously raises the tempo and is a pumping, thumping trance monster.
Absolutely hammered by Oakie and a key part of many of his sets in the late 90's.
It is quite simply a stunning piece of pumping trance music.
This ones got everything, pumping beats, slowed trance vibes and then the build up into the drum rolls as it kicks in again.
I believe that man DJ Tiesto was behind this one. Tiesto was responsible for some of the best trance music ever made.
This is a true trance anthem. If anyone out there isn't sure about trance, get a load of this.
Enjoy!!

Let's get back on the Oakie vibe!!

It's been a while since I posted any Oakie trance tracks, which are a big favourite of mine.
This one is another trance classic, with great vocals and a superb pumping rhythm.
Anyone who says that trance music doesn't have feeling and emotion should have a listen to this.
This track was a key feature of lots of Oakie's sets, a true trance classic and another great remix from Tiesto.

Back to the Poll Results!!!

We've had the password debate and going forward the blog will become a password free site.
The other overriding features of the blog were the desire for more old skool tracks with 38% of the votes this was by far the most popular category for tracks you want to see more of on the blog. There's no problem there as there are many more lined up to post. There was also a strong request for more classic house (24%), again more will be posted going forward. The next favourite category was more BiR and Jimmy Gomez remixes, again there are plenty more of these to come. There was then an equal desire approx. 10% for more Balearic tracks, more New tracks, more DJ Mixes, all of which will be progressed in the coming months.
The biggest disappointment of the poll was the lack of interest in more Trance tracks like those which Paul Oakenfold used to play circa 1994 to 2000 (with a really disappointing 2% of votes). I've mentioned it many times on the blog before how fantastic his sets were and some of the tracks were simply stunning.
Did all you old skool clubbers stop going out post 1994??
What about all those of you at Cream when Oakey was resident and absolutely rocking the Gaff??
Come on keep the faith in Oakie, the guy is a legend!!
Here's another of the classic tracks he used to play - which was very widely played and it is an absolute bona fide club classic. I remember being in Cream and this absolutely taking the roof off.
A simply brilliant track with great vocals, a fantastic (long) build up and a breakdown that takes your breath away. Awesome!!! A great remix by Tiesto also.
It's a pretty long track (10 mins+) and it doesn't really kick in until 5.25, but when it does OMG (I'm getting goose bumps just listening to it again now).
If when listening to it full length a couple of times, give me your feedback, if you're still not getting it, then I'll have to give up with my trance/Oakey posts??

A true classic from the legend that is Oakey!!

Out of all the club music which I've been fortunate enough to come across and listen to, all the clubs I've frequented (and everything else that goes with it), there is one DJ who I would single out as being the absolute Number 1 and that is Oakey.
He's been there from the start pre-Acid House (1987), he's remained at the forefront of dance music, breaking new genres, new tracks, remixing, producing, you name it he's done it.
On top of it all he is the one DJ who never and I mean never, ever failed to disappoint when playing live.
I had so many nights at Cream when he just blew me away and absolutely rocked the gaffe.
His sets would take you on an absolute journey and when he played a set it was impossible to leave the dancefloor. The guy is simply awesome.
This track is an absolute classic with some beautiful vocals that simply melt you. Both mixes are fantastic, true balearic bliss.
