The Voodoo Child Mix is a great remix by Moby, gosh that boy had some talent and is behind so many amazing dance floor tracks and many that appear on the blog.
Some of the tracks from this era just had a special feel to them and this is one very much in that category.
I've also included the HP Saucey Mix, although not as good, still has a nice feel and is a little more Ibizan Balearic in style, Justin Robertson on the remix on that one.
Both great tracks well worth a listen and rightly deserve PCC status!

If there was ever a track I could picture as being played at Cafe Del Mar this would be up there.
It starts and finishes with the noise of the waves washing up on the sea shore, a la outside Cafe Del Mar, then drops into the beautiful melodic 98bpm Balearic beats, gorgeous female vocals and some delightful piano.
Balearic heaven, I can almost feel the sun!

It sounds a little dated now, but it still holds a certain charm and was a big track back int' day.
I always thought the vocals were "I've been missing ya", but I'm pretty sure they will be "Hazme Sonar", which roughly translated means make a noise.
We always got caught out with foreign lyrics and adopted our own chants of what we thought we'd heard. Ha ha.

This is such an epic and widely known (and possibly overplayed) track which although first out in 1993 it was really the Three 'N One remix of 1997 which created the track which was a true dancefloor monster.
This was posted on the blog way back in 2009.
However, since then this track has been remixed by pretty much every remixer out there and there a literally hundreds of different versions including many versions from very high profile remixers.
Out of them all there are 3 that stand out in my mind, these all retain the awesome feel of the original but also bring something new to the track.
The Paul Rincon remix brings in some great piano and adds a fresh vibe.
The Michael Woods version slows it all down and just creates a beautifully chilled aura.
Whilst the Sgt Slick version produces a mash up with Rapture which delivers another great feel.
Although all are amazing versions, I still feel the Three 'N One remix remains "the one", but all great tracks nonetheless.

It's great to hear that there's so much good dance music being made if you search hard enough.
However, we remain reliant on the likes of the legends like Graeme Park to keep pulling out these gems that are deeply hidden in the huge swathes of dross.
This is very Balearic in feel, just floating along but also engaging, it slowly builds and then delivers some great piano, then continues to increase in tempo until it really starts to rock.
Very well produced and a fine piece of modern house music.

Gorgeous breathy Balearic female vocals a gorgeous atmosphere, some lovely piano and just a superb sunny Balearic vibe.

It is not too far to say that Acid House and dance music as we have experienced for over 35 years wouldn't have happened without the inspiration and genius of Alfredo.
It was Alfredo and his legendary sets at Amnesia in 1987 which ignited the passion of Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling, Nicky Holloway (and many others) that lead to the development of the Acid House scene in the UK, which then exploded into the rave scene and the rest is dance music history.
After being entranced by his totally eclectic Balearic sets in Amnesia, they all returned to the UK and tried to recreate the same vibe and scene.
Oakey created the Project club, Spectrum and then Land of Oz, Danny created Shoom and Nicky created, Sin and Trip and Acid House was well and truly born.
All down to the inspiration created by Alfredo.
A huge part of Alfredo's DJing philosophy was playing a massive variety of different types of tracks many of which weren't strictly dance tracks put played at the right time mixed in the right way were just pure gold.
How do I pick a single track to honour the passing of the great legend?
Well having thought about it some what, I thought of a track which was not strictly dance, but just perfect and fully epitomised the tracks which Alfredo dropped at Amnesia.
So here it is a wonderful piece of Balearic artistry frequently dropped by Alfredo at Amnesia.
Rest In Peace legend Alfredo - we will always be indebted for the inspiration you provided which created the scene which we all took so much pleasure from.
