So who are your all time favourite remixers??

Here I'm going to stick my neck out and name my all time top 15 favourite remixers.
To be honest the list in my poll contains all my favourites and I've also probably mixed some great ones out of that list e.g. Farley/Heller, D-Ream, Red Jerry, Andy Weatherall, Tony Humprhries, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Love To Infinity, Brian Transeau, CJ Mackintosh, Junior Vasquez.
I could of gone on and on, but had to draw the line somewhere.
So please use the poll to vote and also drop me a comment in the comments box below this post.
Who are your Top 5 fave remixers?
Here's my Top 15 list and the justifications why.
.
PCC's All Time Top 15 Favourite Remixers

1. Brothers In Rhythm - Simply the untouchables, virtually every single one of their remixes is awesome. Everyone is a true epic which takes you on a journey. They were one of the most profilic remixers and far and away the best. Head and shoulders above anyone IMHO! They simply made too many fantastic remixes to mention them and all the best ones are on this blog.
My faves of what they did; Brue Hornsby - The Way It Is, Shakespeare's Sister - Your History, U2 - Staring At The Sun, Dina Carrol - Ain't No Man, Secret Life - Love So Strong, I could go on and on. Steve Anderson also did some fantastic remixes aside from BiR and I classify these in this No.1 ranking. Again some amazing, amazing tracks, notably Gloria Gaynor - Last Night, Olivia Newton John - Xanadu (totally disco-licious), Duran Duran - Save A Prayer, Paul McCartney, Deliverance, all absolutely amazing tracks.
Dave Seaman was also a great club DJ and Steve Anderson is simply a musical genius.

2. Jimmy Gomez - Just edges it over Chris and James. The quality of some of his remixes were amazing. Think Brian Kenndey - Love, Life and Happiness, M-People - Dreaming, Sunscreem - Looking At You, Anthony White - Love Me Tonight. All absolutely awesome.
Did some great stuff with Chris and James, also and some stuff with Chris as The Delorme and is still putting out some decent stuff occasionally under the Freemasons monicker.
.
3. Chris and James - It's amazing that all the above 3 remixers came from the DMC stable. There must have been something in the water there. C&J put out some amazing tracks and not just remixes, but some fantastic original productions (as well as being amazing DJs). Their remix of EBTG's - Missing is still one of my favourite remixes ever. It was a travesty how Todd Terry got all the plaudits for his dull, boring remix, when the C&J one was truly monstrous. Other amazing remixes included Liquid - One Love Family, Soundstation - Do You Feel It, INXS - Original Sin, Medium High - The Pleasure, plus many, many more posted on the blog.

4. Graeme Park - His remixes were also just so spot on. They were all very similar in style and generally they were remixes of fabulous house tracks, to which he added a brilliant bit of subtle piano and a slightly groovier beat, but they were always so consistently good. Some of the tracks were just fantastic pieces of house music, which are timeless and still sound amazing today. Check out Mariah Rowe - Sexual, Eddie Flashin Fowlkes - You Can't Turn Me Out and of course who could forget Brand New Heavies - Back To Love and many more which are yet to post on the blog.

5. Frankie Knuckles - Just the sheer quality of his remixes, the amazing production, the beautiful piano and strings, quite simply house music perfection. Check out Electribe 101 - Talking With Myself, Michael Jackson - Rock With You, Alison Limerick - Where Love Lives, Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart and many more.

6. David Morales - I was struggling to decide between Morales and Todd Terry, but think that Morales just edged it. I actually think Todd Terry's are more consistently good and Morales are more hit and miss, but some of the tracks he was done are simply awesome. Tracks like, M-People - Itchychoo Park, Novocento - Night and Day, Mariah Carey - Dream Lover, Kuva - Is'nt It Time, Selena - I'm Getting Used To You and lots, lots more of classics.

7. Todd Terry -There just something about his remixes that have sheer quality stamped all over them and of course he has produced lots of original house classics under many aliases, just check a few of this list and it'll remind you of some of the quality tracks he has been behind, Orange Lemon, Royal House, Black Riot, CLS, Gypsymen and lots more. His tracks have the feel that he brings the beat really "out front" and the beat sounds crunchier than all other tracks and remixes, it must be some technical effect he uses? His finest remixes IMHO, Annie Lennox - Littel Bird, Marth Wash - Carry On, PM Dawn - Watcher's Point of View

8. Oakenfold and Osborne - It might come as a surprise to them so low in the list, as they have produced some brilliant stuff over the last 20 years, but also some dross as well. They've also produced some brilliant own production tracks.
Best remixes IMHO are U2 - Lemon/Orange, U2 - Even Better Than The Real Thing, Mansun - Wide Open Space, Solid Gold Easy Amex - Enjoy and many, many more.

9. Roger Sanchez - A bit like Morales produces a lot of remixes and many not that great, but some that are truly amazing, especially when he bangs in the piano. Just check out Charlotte - Sugar Tree, Basia - Drunk On Love, M-People - Moving On Up and a truly fabulous remix of The Police - Walking On The Moon.

10 . T-empo - T-empo made remixes a bit like BiR, huge epic journeys, with massive cascading piano breakdowns. Just check out tracks like Propaganda - P-Machinery, The Coming Out Crew - Free, Gay and Happy, Duran Duran - Falling Down, plus many more. Tim Lennox (one half of T-empo) was a great club DJ also.

11 . Luvdup - The Luvdup Twins produced some absolute belters. They had a fantastic knack of playing exactly the sort of tracks you wanted to hear when they DJ'd, massive pumping tracks and a really wide avried mix of house, disco and handbag. Their remixes always hit the spot.
Their remix of Sam Ellis - Club Lonely - was true genius, also check out - Soft House Company III - What You Need - (just check the piano!!), Rollo Goes Camping - Get Off Your High Horse, plus lots of others.

12. Tiesto - Quite simply some amazing Trance remixes. He remixed some of my all time favourite trance tracks, always pumping, but also very melodic and with huge atmosphere. Check out, Delirium - Silence, Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun, Jan Johnston - Flesh, Gouryella - Gouryella.

13. Matt Darey - As with Tiesto above, he has produced some wonderful trance moments, Check out, Binary Finary - 1998 and 1999, Agnelli & Nelson - El Niño, Li Kwan - Point Zero. He also teamed up with Red Jerry under the Lost Tribe monicker.

14. Clivillés and Cole - There was a time around 1991 when they were simply the hottest amd most prolific remixers out there and they also produced some absolute classics. Notably, Mariah Carey - Make It Happen, Michael Jackson - Black and White, First Choice - Doctor Love, Mariah Carey - Anytime You Need A Friend, and many, many more classics.

15. Stonebridge - It was a very diffilcult choice the last one in my Top 15 and it came down to Bottom Dollar, Lisa Maire Experience, Way Out West and Stonebridge.
Stonebridge just nicked it as they have produced some absolutely brilliant club tracks and always of a very high quality. Check out Donna Giles - And I'm Telling You, Chrissy Ward - Right and Exact (a big fave of mine), Shuana Davis - Getaway, and many many more.

Well folks there you have it, that's my list of all time Top 15 favourite remixers.
If you want links for all the tracks listed above they are all on the blog, just scroll down on the Artists and Remixers list.
Please let me have your comments and thoughts on your Top 5 fave remixers (or Top 15 if you're like me and can't keep it down to 5). Let me know which were the fantastic tracks they remixed which in your opinion made them so good.
Also don't forget to vote on the poll.
Enjoy peeps!

Best regards, PCC

Great to see that Jimmy G is still turning out quality!!

It's hard to believe that I only really became aware of Jimmy Gomez remixes about 6 months ago. Yes, I'd heard loads of the tracks he'd remixed out in clubs, without knowing he was behind the remixes. Well in that 6 months I've managed to track down most of his back catalogue and I have to say the man is on another level to most remixers.
In fact IMHO the only remixers that surpass him are Brothers In Rhythm who are the absolute Numero Uno. I'm caught between Chris and James and Jimmy Gomez for my second favourite, but think that Jimmy Gomez just edges, because virtually all his remixes just hit exactly the right spot. Mind you Jimmy Gomez aka James Wiltshire also collaborated with Chris and James on quite a few mixes and put stuff out together under The Delorme monicker.
About this track, it's pretty recent 2005 and it has a really beautiful vocal and just a really lovely atmospheric feel throughout the track. A real quality track.
Right that reminds me I was going to do a fave remixers poll.
Watch out next post!

Asle Presents Frost - Wait For Me
(6AM Mix - Jimmy Gomez)

Do You Feel Alright To Get Carried Away??

Yeah course you do. Let's "Get Crazy".
One of the fantastic things about club music, is that lots of great tracks it only takes one fantastic hook to create a really superb and effective track.
This is a great example the track is pretty solid throughout, but not spectacular, but every time that little riff kicks in, it just totally lives the track to another level and you can't help but "Get Crazy".
It turns this track into a real quality track and all the way through it, you are just waiting for that synth riff to kick in again.
Loving it - Let's "Get Crazy".
Feel Alright, Feel Alright to get carried away, don't get carried away"
I'm sure you will on hearing this!!
Enjoy!!

(Optikal Mix)

I can't resist another superb Balearic Classic!!!

Anyone who follows the blog, will now of my huge love of Balearic Classics, the sort of tunes which can only be classified as non-dance music, but had an absolutely amazing reaction on the dancefloor when dropped at the right moment in a club.
There can be no better track then this one, a true balearic classic of the highest order and massive in the acid house era at clubs like Shoom.
Just a real quality track and one I totally love. You just can't beat that piano and the superb laid back groove, it just totally hooks you.
For me the only mix is the Street Groove (non vocal mix) and hence this is the one posted.
If any of you ut there remember this being dropped in a club, give me a shout to share that experience or drop some comments in the comments box.
A Pure Club Classic of the very highest order.
Enjoy!!! As know you certainly will with this one!!!

The Thrashing Doves - Jesus On The Payroll
(Street Groove)

R U Sleeping?? I hope not with tunes this good!!!

Another fantastic club classic, which was massive back in 1994.
The big mix that was the main one played in the clubs was the Stonebridge Mix, which was quitely simply a classic piece of house music. Widely played at the Hac, Basics and to be honest virtually any decent club that you went into at that time.
However, the memories for me are it being played at the Hacienda by the legend that is Mr Graeme Park. I have such fantastic memories of that place and it was always the best place to go if you wanted to hear the finest house music out there.
I've also posted the T-empo mix, that IMHO doesn't quite match up to the Stonebridge Mix, which is surprising as most of their mixes were superb.
Also check out the D.O.N.S. remix which is a very recent (2007) version and is really very good indeed, keeping the quality feel of the original, but punching it up a bit. Love the alarm clock at the beginning and the real bite that the track has, very current, but still very good.
Enjoy people - no sleeping to this one!!!

"Hallelujah Somebody" - "Talk about Liberation!!"

A huge dancefloor smash from back in 1992, with some great samples in it.
This one brings back memories of night at Back To Basics in Leeds in 92 and hence the flyer above.
The track's got a very catchy riff and the same riff that was used in Bump - Im Rushing and many many more club tracks. It also contains some great piano.
"Hallelujah Somebody" - "Talk about Liberation!!" Yes indeedy!!
I'm sure you all remember this one and ofi course the sequel Liberation 2 - which was posted on the blog several months back.
Enjoy people, you know that you want to!!!
.
Liberation - Liberation
(Freedom)
.

One of the finest down tempo tracks ever!!

I'm sure everyone has fantastic memories of this track.
It is most certainly one of the most significant club classics of the last 20 years.
Quite simply a stunning track, that just puts you in another place, beautifully chilled, yet maintaining that atmosphere which has you hooked throughout the track.
My great memory of this track was Sasha dropping it at midnight on New Years Eve 1991 and bringing in 1992 - Truly amazing memories - I've scanned in the flyer.
It was a simply fantastic night The Warehouse was rammed and Sasha IMHO was at his very peak, playing all the great tracks which we knew and loved him for.
He dropped some absolute classics that night including Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Marathon - Moving, Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams, Kid N Play - 2 Hype and loads more. I've got the tapes of the night and will convert them and post them one day.
Great memories!!
Drop me your comments on your memories of Orbital - Belfast a true PCC!!!

Welcome to the Weekend once again!!!

Hello to all, I hope you've all enjoyed a great week, more like you are probably glad it's over so that you can kick off and enjoy the weekend.
Here's bringing you another superb mix from DJ Drew G, which as mentioned will be a monthly feature on the blog, keeping a current feel, to complement all the club classic posts.
This one's the next in the series and brings the usual quality mixture of the most up to date current club hits and some great retro tracks mixed in as well.
In this one you'll find a mixed up Marvin Gaye- I Heard it on the Grapevine, The Doobie Brothers - Long Train Running (one of my all time faves), a great re-working of House of Pain - Jump Around, Modjo - Lady (Hear Me Tonight), a bit of Madonna and then finishing off with one of my fave Jacko tracks - Man In The Mirror.
Another top drawer mix set Drew - Keep it there fella!!!
I hope you enjoy people.
Let me have your comments!

Last one for tonight folks, what's it to be??

Well, I know you all like your gay anthems and they don't come much camper than this!!
This is the Pet Shop Boys at their campest and the first 5 minutes of the track is just a typcial PSB track, although very catchy and yes very camp.
Then at 5 minutes in the Brothers in Rhythm remix kicks in just like their usual quality production and turns it around into a full blown epic club monster with lots of dramatic strings and some superb production.
It really is very dramatic and very uplifting - just pure quality BiR.
I'm sure you'll love it!!!
Enjoy.

Let's get a little bit Progressive!!!

Erasure on the PCC blog what's going on??
But hey wait a minute, this is pure quality.
For those of you who like their Progressive House a little on the dark side, a la Leftfield, React To Rhythm, DOP etc, then you'll love this.
It's remixed by Phil Kelsey and is a 13 minute plus monster and very, very good. As mentioned pretty dark, but very intense, earthy and atmospheric.
It may take couple of listens for it to really hit you, but when it does it'll knock you for 6.
Another great bit of rapping from the huge talent that was MC Kinky, then you get a huge piano breakdown.
I totally love the end of the track as well, it seems if it's just fading out for ages and then all of a sudden kicks back in and then fades again.
A bloody impressive track and Erasure are nowhere to be seen.
Do you like it??

Erasure - Take A Chance On Me
(Take A Trance On Me Mix)

Now this is total "Balearic"!!!

They don't come much more Balearic then this one.
Legend has it that this was dropped last track of the night by Paul Oakenfold at Spectrum back in 1988.
Can you just imagine the atmosphere; a club full of totally loved up clubbers right in the midst of Acid House, then this gets dropped.
I can imagine that there wouldn't have been a dry eye in the house. Awesome.
If anybody attended that night and remembers this, then drop me a line.
These are the sort of tracks which when dropped at the correct moment, simply made your night.
Balearic Bliss at it's best.
.
The Beatles - All You Need Is Love
.

Time for a bit of Balearic!!!

Now this was a huge balearic classic way back in the day!!
In fact the track first came out in 1981 and hence is approaching 30 years old.
I remember searching for this for ages, but I tracked down a copy on vinyl many years ago.
They don't come much more balearic than this.
Totally funky, catchy, vibey and a very smooth.
A perfect track for a hot balearic night.
It may not be to everyone's taste, but in my mind no question that this is a huge PCC.
Great female vocals as well, just check these lyrics;

"What you gonna do when you get out of jail?
I'm gonna have some fun
What do you consider fun?
Fun, natural fun

I'm in heaven
With my boyfriend, my laughing boyfriend
There's no beginning and there is no end
Time isn't present in that dimention
He'll take my arm
When we're walkin', rolling and rocking
It's one time I'm glad I'm not a man
Feels like I'm dreaming, but I'm not sleeping

I'm in heaven
With the maven of funk mutation
Clinton's musicians such as Bootsy Collins
Raise expectations to a new intention
No one can sing
Quite like Smokey, Smokey Robinson
Wailin' and shakin' to Bob Marley
Reggae's expanding with Sly and Robbie

All the weekend
Boyfriend was missingI surely miss him
The way he'd hold me in his warm arms
We went insane when we took cocaine.

Stepping in a rhythm to a Kurtis Blow
Who needs to think when your feet just go
With a hiditihi and a hipitiho
Who needs to think when your feet just go ...
Bohannon Bohannon Bohannon Bohannon
Who needs to think when your feet just go ...
Bohannon Bohannon Bohannon Bohannon
James Brown, James Brown
James Brown, James Brown

If you see him
Please remind him, unhappy boyfriend
Well he's the genius of love
He's got a greater depth of feeling
Well he's the genius of love
He's so deep"

Awesome track - don't you think??

Tom Tom Club - Genius Of Love

Do you remember this one???

Well I've pulled out some of the old flyers from nights I attended and have scanned in this one above..
I remember this track being dropped by Boy George at Back To Basics back in 1994.
It was when Basics had moved from the Music Factory to the Pleasure Rooms.
About the track, well no prizes for guessing the riff, a bit easy this one, stolen from Dire Straits - Money For Nothing.
The track was a big hit at the time and got huge dancefloor response, sounds a tad cheesy now, but it certainly was a PCC back in the day.
If nothing else I'm sure it will bring back a few good memories.
Enjoy!!

The Purple Kings - That's The Way You Do It
(While Label Mix)

Are you feeling those "Indian Vibes"???

Well I remember this when it first came out in 1994 and thinking how unique it was.
It was the first time I had heard anything like it, mixing a traditional type of indian music with a dance beat.
It's very different to most of the tracks posted, but it is still a bonafide club classic and has a lovely authentic feel to it.
Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but good all the same.
Are you with me on this one??
Let me know your thoughts?
I've posted two versions, the Ballistics in Traffic Mix is slightly dancier and the best of the two IMHO.
Enjoy people???

Indian Vibes - Mathar
(Ballistics In Traffic Mix)

Indian Vibes - Mathar
(Radio Edit)

Here's one for all you Sasha fans out there!!

Now when this track first came out I really didn't like it.
I just felt that it didn't compare to the Simon and Garfunkel version and that it was just a cheesy rip off.
However, it was a track which was hammered by Sasha back in 1991 and 1992 and listening to it again it does have a real charm and quality about it.
In fact it is a very good version and IMHO a worthy club classic.
Let me know your thoughts on this one people.
Club Classic or cheesy cover version??
Your thoughts please??

P.J.B. Featuring Hannah And Her Sisters
- Bridge Over Troubled Water
(Golden Gate Mix)

"Feel Love, I Feel Love!!"

Another fantastic trance track, but this time a very much more laid back track and not the usual pumping trance that I post on the blog.
Dare I say it, it's anotehr track which features on the Kevin and Perry film and hence another reason for you to check out that hilarious film.
The track is beautiful very atmposheric, very gentle, very chilled, absolutely ideal for a nice summers evening, hence not quite the right track for the dreadful weather we're currently having in Blighty. However, I'm sure all my American friends will be in a better place to enjoy this (on the weather front).
For all those out there that don't particularly like trance, I'd suggest giving this one a go, as it will definitely seduce you!!
Top, Top track. "Feel Love, I Feel Love!!"

CRW - I Feel Love
(R.A.F. Zone Mix)

You can't beat a bit of quality!!!

Bring out the Sunchyme!!!
Now I know this one was a bit commercial and crossed over and hence may have lost some of it's cred/appeal, but listening to it again now it sounds even better than it did first time around.
IMHO it is a truly outstanding track with some beautiful piano, lovely steel drums and some really excellent african chanting.
A really fantastic track - why?? Well because it's stood the test of time, it's over 10 years old and still sounds even better than I remember it first time around.
Don't be sceptical - give this one another listen it's a truly great track!!
Enjoy!!

Dario G - Sunchyme
(Original Mix)

"Eh, Eh, Eh, Eh, Eh, Ecstasy!!!"

There can be few better moments than being in a club when this track came on.
Just the fact we were all dancing and chanting along to the chorus was a totally surreal experience.
You couldn't beat singing;
"What planet are you on, Planet Ecstasy"
And looking round at everybody else singing the same thing back to you.
"Eh, Eh, Eh, Eh, Eh, Ecstasy!!!"
The track of course contains some great rapping from MC Kinky and has to go down as one of the all time cult club classics.
It was produced by Jeremy Healy (and Boy George again) under his E-Zee Possee guise.
It still sounds great 20 years on!!
.
E-Zee Possee - Everything Starts With An 'E'
(Sir Frederick Leighton Mix)

It's "Alright" the weekend is here!!

Alright peeps, welcome to the start of another weekend and apologies for the lack of contact on the blog this week, it's been another hectic week.
Well let's start off as we mean to go on with a great club classic.
For those of you that like your old skool nice and bouncy with lots of great piano and some great vocals, then you'll love this.
This dates back to 1991 and was a track which I always remember going down well on the dancefloor.
"Get into it, to it, get into it, get into the right emotions, it's alright, it's al -ra- hi- right"
Enjoy people!!
.
Dayeene - Alright

Another club monster "In My House"!!!

Here's another big club monster.
This was a big track all over clubland back in 1995.
Quite simple in delivery but very effective and still sounds great today.
It's reminiscent of quite a few tracks, but I can't just put my finger on the exact ones.
The tracks got a great bouncy feel, catchy "in my house" sample, a great riff and some very nice subtle piano.
All in all a bit of a club monster!!!
A big shout out to Braddy for supplying this one, nice work fella.
Enjoy people, because it's last post of the night!!!

Cotton Club - In My House

Are you ready for another huge piano classic!!!

I know you are going to love this one. Talk about catchy.
I know this one was a huge Chris and James track and I can fully understand why.
It's a really, really catchy vibey tune with some superb piano being banged away all through the track. The vocals are excellent also. Another track from 1991 (there's been a few of those tonight!!).
"Dancing is like, dancing is like, dancing, dancing is like making love, all night"
A real corker this one peeps!!
Enjoy!!!

Let's start "Moving On Up"!!!

M People were probably the most consistent dance group in the 90's and one who managed to bridge the divide between commercial chart success whilst matinining that all important underground club credibility.
But then again when you combine the genius of Hacienda legend Mike Pickering with the amazing vocals of Heather Small, well you're bound to get something great!
Some of their tracks were awesome when remixed and several have already been posted on the blog.
You'll all know this track, but probably haven't heard this fantastic Roger Sanchez remix too often. It is a fantastic "barnstorming" piano driven monster. Top Class.
I've also posted the original version which was also a great club track, although slightly more commercial.
Enjoy people, as I'm sure you will!!

Oh I couldn't resist it - a bit more Kevin and Perry!!

Well, I've started something now, I'm sorry I couldn't resist it, I just had to upload this one as it is an absolutely awesome piece of trance music. I've even included a bit of the Kevin and Perry film for those who haven't had the pleasure of seeing it!!
On a more serious note a huge track in clubland absolutely hammered by Oakie in lots of his sets in 1998 and 1999.
The track is quite simply a trance classic in every sense. Not only has it that wonderful atmospheric trance feel about the track, but it also has some wonderful piano, which is unusual for trance tracks and only adds to make it even better.
A Pure Club Classic of the highest order!! Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!
The Original Mix is the main version, but also worth checking the Moonwatchers Mix for a totally chilled out vibe.
Enjoy peeps!!

Y Traxx - Mystery Land
(Original Mix)

Y Traxx - Mystery Land
(Moonwatchers Remix)

This one goes out to all the club Dee-Jays!!

Well, I've been spoiling you with old skool all night, so now we are going to move onto something a little heavier.
People who follow this blog regualrly will know that I'm a huge fan of trance, the sort of stuff which Paul Oakenfold was hammering from 1995 towards the end of 2000.
Now this is another huge Oakie track, which I love, but it is probably better known for appearing on the Kevin and Perry soundtrack.
If you haven't seen that film then I'd strongly advise you to look it up.
Absolute comedy genius - it rips the piss out of the club scene, but it does it in a very true to life way, in that much of what goes on in the film wasn't a long way off what was happening in Ibiza during the 90's.
As mentioned Pure Comedy Genius!! I always love the line "I am a serious club Dee-Jay" or something like that. Lol.
The thing that makes the film so good though is the soundtrack which samples some fantastic trance tracks.
This is one of the main tracks featured (the Claxixx Mix). Give it chance you may think it's not going anywhere, but wait for the breakdown at 1 min 56 secs - absolute clubbing heaven - trance music at it's very best - simply awesome!!!
The main mix which Oakie hammered was the R.A.F. By Picotto Mix, which is a huge pumping trance mix, very reminiscent of Binary Finary (Yes, that good!!)
Both mixes are great and give something different, although the R.A.F. mix is for the certainly for those who prefer their trance in a more pumping stylee!!
Enjoy and certainly check the film out. I must of seen it 5 or 6 times and it still has me in stitches!!

Mauro Picotto - Lizard
(Claxixx Mix)

Mauro Picotto - Gonna Get Ya Lizard
(R.A.F. By Picotto Remix)

"Dreams, dreams, can come true, true!!"

Oh go on then, here's another belting old skool track.
This one goes out to boscfc - I know you love this one fella and a big up for supplying the link.
Well the track is a real melodic piece of quality old skool.
Very flowing, very laidback, but also very catchy, with a great mellow vibe, perfect for those loved up nights back in 1991.
Remember people "Dreams, dreams, can come true, true".
Enjoy, I'm sure you will.

Before Moses - Dreams Can Come True

Been a while since we had a C&J Remix!!

Well peeps, it's been quite a while since we last had a Chris and James remix posted.
This one is slightly different to their usual Full On Club Mix/Solar Power Mix style which produced the huge club epics, which we all know and love.
This one has a much more funky disco house type style, but it very catchy and is a real grower.
It's not their greatest piece of work (IMHO), but it is nonetheless still very good.
"Fly away bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye"
Are you liking this one folks?? Let me know!

Eyes Cream - Fly Away (Bye Bye)
(Chris and James Remix)

A Big Up for the Luv Bug!!!

Well we're certainly on the old skool vibe tonight and here comes another huge classic.
A big shout out to Big JC for reminding me to post this one.
It's another huge fave of mine and yes it is from the same Together - who gave us the legendary Hardcore Uproar!!
It has some wonderful piano all the way throughout coupled with a delightful little riff, that repeats through the track.
I know that you'll all love this one. How could you not!!!
Corking my son!!!
Get on it!!

Together - The Luv Bug

http://www.mediafire.com/?ocyuxvktvhz

"Anytime You Need A Friend, I Will Be Here!!!"

Another fantastic track my the legend that is Ms Mariah Carey.
She has the absolute perfect voice to complement dance tracks and thanks to a superb remix by Clivillés and Cole, we have another huge PCC.
There was a period in the early 90's when C&C were churning out tracks and remixes like you wouldn't believe. They were certainly the hottest remixers in clubland in that era.
About the track, this ones from 1994 and as you'd expect the vocals are amazing, complemented with some great bits of piano, gives a superb house track.
Remember what Mariah is singing to you "Anytime You Need A Friend, I Will Be Here"
Enjoy peeps!!

Staying with the old skool vibe!!!

Another huge old skool fave of minefrom 1991. This one is slightly slower in tempo, but just as good in quality.
Again with some superb piano and excellent vocals, with some very catchy lyrics.
"Toss and turn all night in the sheets, I can't sleep"
"Night after night don't know what it means, in my dreams"
"What can I say or do, you won't come that way through"
"I've realised too late, that baby your love is turned away"
"In my dreams, you're all I need baby, yeah!!"
Quality, quality track.
Enjoy!!!

Let's hope this will keep you "Coming Back For More"!!

Another huge old skool piano tune (fit for Royal T !!).
This one dates back to 1994 and is a true "hands in the air" piano tune.
Just how I know you all like them (me also).
Very much in the same vein to Medium High - Pleasure, that being huge piano, anthemic vocals and a killer "sing a long" chorus.
Really simple, in many ways but very effective when dropped in clubs.
"You've got me coming back for me, you keep me coming back for more"
Yes indeedy!!!
P.S. A big shout for OldSkoolTimes for this. Cheers buddy!

Royal T - Coming Back For More
(Loveland's Full On Vocal Mix)

This is absolutely MASSIVE!!!

Apologies to all the female followers out there about the purely sexist pic.
But it isn't easy finding and image which represents massive as well as this one.
I'm sure all the laddo's will enjoy it though!!! Oi Oi!!
(By the way I bet she'll get some backache when she gets older. Lol).
About the track, well it's simply MASSIVE no questions about it.
It's got a superb fast "crunchy" beat and storming piano to die for.
Truly a MASSIVE track for all you old skool lovers out there.
MASSIVE is the only way to describe it!!
Enjoy!!!

A new feature to kick off the Weekend!!!

Evening all, I hope you've all enjoyed a good week and are looking forward to the weekend!! Some time ago I did a poll asking what people would like to see more of on the blog. Most of the things which people requested are the sort of stuff I regularly post e.g. old skool, trance, classic house, Balearic, BiR type remixes etc.
However, there were requests for modern current new club classics and more DJ mix sets.
Well to satisfy both these needs I'm introducing a new feature which will include a new mix set of the latest club classics every month.
Of course as with all tracks posted on the blog it will be of the highest quality and maintain the standards set so far.
Most of the tracks posted on the blog span what in my mind were the classic UK clubbing years from 1987 to 2000. In my opinion the scene in the UK died after 2000.
But despite that I'm still keen to share with you all current club music which still hits just the right spot.
So without further of a do I present to you;
one of the leading DJ's in the US club scene - Drew G!!!
I've featured some of his remixes on the blog before which were quality and all of his mix sets are top drawer also. This one features the likes of Beyonce, an amazing rework of EBTG's - Missing, a remix of Blondie - Call Me, Fire Island - There But For The Grace of God, a bit of Whitney in there and lots of other great stuff and some quality mixing to boot.
The mixes are called Signs Of The Times so here you have it!!

Please give me your feedback on this mix, good or bad!!(I'm sure it'll be good!!)
Enjoy!!

No other words for it - this is a BIG TUNE!!!

I'm sure you all remember this one - it was absolutely huge in 1992 in all the clubs in the UK.
A monster, monster tune, when this came out there was nothing else around like it, it was and still is totally unique.
It has an amazing intro and then just builds into a huge house classic.
When that piano used to kick in at 2mins 27 secs - it was a truly great club moment and every time I heard this track in whatever club I was in the whole place would just rock.
It brings back great memories of nights at Back To Basics in Leeds, Hard Times in Huddersfield and various events at the Leeds Corn Exchange.
As the track was so good it got played week in week out for about 6 months - awesome!!
There were many mixes of this and also some more recent remixes in 2006, but this is the mix.
All others pale into significance.
I hope you enjoy this one peeps - this is true PCC of the highest calibre - a BIG TUNE indeed!!!
Big shout out to Holty, Wee-Ste and Velvetpants who all helped to track it down - Respect fellas!!

Djaimin - Give You (Dancefloor Syndromad Mix)

Now this one is a huge old fave of mine!!

A massive shout out to Wee-Ste for tracking this one down for me.
Huge respect fella, thank you for this one and all the others you've manged to find for me, very much appreciated.
Not only is Wee-Ste a Top Man peeps he's also running one of the best old skool blogs out there as well, so be sure to check it out http://indulge-weeste.blogspot.com/
Right about this track, I simply love it, it has a great feeling about it with some excellent vocals and some huge piano. It also sounds likes there are what I can best decribes as"fireworks" going off throughout as well.
I hope you enjoy this one peeps, it certainly one of those tracks which was not that widely known and hence in my opinion a bit of a hidden treasure from 1992. Let me know what you think?
Are you liking it??

How about a bit of K.I.S.S.I.N.G.!!!!

It's been a while since I put some BiR on the blog and hence here we have another remix of the highest quality.
This one has a great vocal, the obligatory fantastic BiR production and some really nice subtle piano and then of course a "great hands in the air" moment.
For those BiR fans out there, there are still many more BiR remixes to come, but if anyone can help track down Pulp - Party Hard (Brothers in Rhythm Remix), then please give me a shout. This is the only BiR remix I've yet to track down and they must be out there somewhere. Keep your eyes peeled people!!
Meanwhile why not enjoy a bit of K.I.S.S.I.N.G.!!!!

Are we "getting out" this weekend???

Alright folks, Welcome to the weekend. (I feel a bit like Pete Tong saying that!!).
I've got some more corking tunes lined up for you tonight, so stay tuned and give me your feedback - good or bad!!
Now if anyone was to ask me to give an example of a Old Skool "piano tune" then this alongside Asha - JJ Tribute and probably 2 Funky 2 - Brothers and Sisters, this would be one of the first tracks which would spring to my mind as representing a true piano tune.
Also often classified as Italian House, they were the type of tracks which were very prominent on the UK club scene circa 1990 to 1991. That was probably at a time when the scene was at it's most exciting and DJ's like Sasha were at their absolute best.
These types of tracks typified the "hands in the air" atmosphere. Awesome times.
"We're getting out, getting ready for the best time in the night"
Funny isn't it how we mis-read lyrics - I always used to sing along to this one with
"We're getting hot, getting ready for the best time in our lives" - which to me makes ultimately better lyrics. Lol.
Out of the two versions I think the Juston Robertson remix shades it.
Enjoy people!!
