You are an obsession, you're my obsession!

More greatness from Mr Wiltshire.

Here he takes and old 80s cult classic pop track and as per usual transforms it into an absolutely epic dancefloor monster.

Without doubt one of the very best remixers of our generation whether under the guises of Jimmy Gomez, Freemasons, The Delorme or the other countless aliases.

This is fierce, respecting the great vocals of the original and sprinkling in lots of his customary high quality piano breaks.

Just lovely.

Animotion - Obsession

(James Wiltshire's '94 Club Mix)

Music is my life, it's the joy I have inside!

Throw two of my favourite remixers together and you're bound to get something special and this certainly doesn't disappoint.

You're instantly hooked from the opening police type sirens, then lush piano chords, throw in some great vocals and you have your bonafide PCC.

Great track from 1992, which still feels electric today, nearly 30 years on.

Enjoy!

Clivillés & Cole - Keep It Coming

(Brothers In Rhythm Remix)

You're broken when your hearts not open!

Unquestionably one of the biggest stars to grace plant earth.

Like her or loathe her there was never any question of her talent and Chameleon capability to create new scenes and trends.

Despite having an element of dance in her tracks, there were very few which were big club tracks.

This is one of the better remixes courtesy of Victor Calderone which creates a well produced progressive builder.

Enjoy!

Madonna - Frozen

(Extended Club Mix)

It’s difficult these days...to get..good grass

Staying on that laid back Balearic theme.

Always used to love this track from 1994.

A little commercial, but very endearing nonetheless.

"If you believe in me, if you believe in love!"

Funky and catchy in equal measures, with some great double entendre vocal samples!

Enjoy!

Wubble U - Petal

(English Rose)

Bliss out and enjoy!

I've not posted anything Balearic for a while, so here's and old favourite from 1990.

A delightful laid back summer vibe track with some lush Spanish guitar and that all so important Balearic groove.

There's some great musical arrangements on this track.

Enjoy!

The Blow Monkeys - La Passionara

Ready for take off?

Another mind blowing remix from the TE's.

To be honest I could post pretty much every single remix they have done as their quality is always so magnificently high (overtime I'll probably do this, but be warned as they have many, many top class remixes).

This one from 1997 is in their usual fierce and pounding fashion, gradually building and then peaking to a fantastic breakdown.

TE's were definitely one of the best remixers of their ilk.

This is a great track and the African chant vocals really mix well with the piano chords and the drum rolls.

Top notch!

Enjoy!

Wes - Alane

(Trouser Enthusiasts Orgasmic Apparition Mix)

I'm holding, still holding on!

Staying on the Incognito and S-Man theme, here's another house classic and another Hac fave.

As with all Incognito tracks, great vocals and great lyrics.

House music with soul and substance.

Another classic track from 1994.

Enjoy!

Incognito - Pieces Of A Dream

(Roger Sanchez Seven Minutes Of Soul Remix)

Babe I know you've got that something!

Superb high quality house music.

Incognito produced some great tracks always with great vocals.

Couple this with the top class remixing of the S-Man and you have a sure-fire PCC.

The lyrics are also class.

I've taken time to say goodbye to my sadness, now I know I'm free!

This is a great track and was a biggie Hac tune.

Enjoy!

Incognito - Giving It Up

(Uplifting Club Mix)

Saturday, 30 October 2021

For your love, I'd do anything!

Truly superb disco classic from 1980.

Still sounds amazing today.

Just check out the intro.

Immense is the only word.

Gorgeous piano throughout, a track with pure class from start to finish.

Enjoy!

Idris Muhammad - For Your Love

We lost it in the fight!

Great re-working of an old classic track.
Superb vocals combined with some delightful piano and really infectious groove.
Great remix by Kerri Chandler.
One of the stand out tracks of 2021.
Enjoy!

Gabriels - Love and Hate in a Different Time
(Kerri Chandler Remix)

And I'm Telling You - again!

Now and again a new version of an old classic get's a re-working which really hits the spot.

There are so many re-hashes of classic 80s and 90s tracks and most are dreadful.

This from 2020 however is quite the exception.

Superb work by Morales as per usual and some fine vocals by Elle Cato.

This version is more housey and contains some delightful (trademark Morales) piano.

Is it as good as the Donna Giles version? Nah, not in my opinion, although it is damn fine.

I always thought it was worth posting a fantastic Junior Vasquez remix of a different version of the same track from 2001.

Again not quite as good as the Donna Giles version, but pretty epic all the same!

Get on it!

David Morales & Elle Cato - And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going

(Original Mix)

Rosabel With Jennifer Holliday – And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going

(Junior Vasquez Earth Club Anthem)

Friday, 29 October 2021

Oh yes indeedy!

Ok, go on then I couldn't resist another.

This is truly superb in trademark fashion it builds steady and then explodes into the most fantastic piano breakdown.

Another fantastic PG remix, this one from 1996.

More PG to come in the not too distant future.

Enjoy!

Junior Dangerous feat. Lucas - Comin' Out To Play

(P.G. Tips' Anthem Mix)

We're solitary baby, in a solitary world!

Ok, I feel I've at least gone some way to correcting the lack of PG remixes on the PCC blog.

Here is another stunner, this time from musical genius Dave Stewart wider known of course for this work in the Eurythmics.

Just love everything about this track from the laid back vocals to the superb Spanish guitar and of course the fantastic piano breaks.

"We're solitary baby, in a solitary world!"

Another belter from PG.

Hope you enjoy!

Dave Stewart - Secret

(Paul Gotel's Moriara Moondance)

One more time?

Staying on the PG vibe, here's another cracker.

This one from 1997 again turning a dull pop track into an epic dancefloor sensation.

A great proggy build up that keeps you fully engaged throughout right through to that crashing piano breakdown.

Excellent stuff once again.

Enjoy!

Louise - Let's Go Round Again

(Paul Gotel's Peaceful Warrior Mix)

When You Made The Mountain - you made me!

It really strikes me that I haven't got enough of PG's stuff on the blog, hence work to do.

He created some truly fantastic remixes, many being  epics laden with sumptuous piano.

This one is one in that very mould, transforming a dull pop track into a dancefloor sensation.

Love this, great vocals and a sensational remix.

Enjoy!

OPUS III - When You Made The Mountain

(Paul Gotel Club Mix)

The art of the remix!

This is the great thing about dance music, how great remixes can create hugely different but equally great versions of the same track.

Here's a well know cover of the old Everything But The Girl track with some great vocals by Karen Ramirez, which is then given 3 very different work outs with each one displaying a very different feel.

The Sebastian Club Mix is a nice laid back house vibe, the Peter Rauhofer mix is given a Sound Factory work out and the Trouser Enthusiasts mix is given well a typical TE overhaul.

3 great remixes of a great track all with a different feel and all very good.

If I had to pick one it'd be the TE mix in a close contest.

The power of the remix!

Enjoy!

Karen Ramirez - Looking For Love

A collaboration of the remix masters!

Great remix through a collaboration between 2 of my all time fave remixers Chris Day (the Chris from Chris & James) and James Wiltshire (aka Jimmy Gomez, Freemasons).

They were without doubt 2 of the stand out remix talents of the 90s.

This collaboration as the Handbag Enthusiasts takes and old Aztec Camera track and gives it some dancefloor edge.

Not quite up there with their very best remixes, but pretty damn good regardless.

Enjoy!

Aztec Camera - Somewhere In My Heart

(The Handbag Enthusiasts Remix)

True passion has a name - Love!

Andy On The Eve produced a few great little tracks back in the early 90s, all based on the same theme.

This is another great track.

Ethereal, yet exciting.

Quality!

Andy On The Eve ‎– Love

(Atari Mix)

So many great mixes!

Staying on the Alison Limerick vibe.

There are so many fantastic remixes of this anthem, that I had to post them all, as they are all of the highest quality and worthy of PCC status.

Each one provides a different angle to a truly fantastic song and of course stupendous vocals by Alison.

The Flying Rulebook Mix by Steve Anderson is just lush, like eating Belgian chocolate, so heavenly and glorious.

Alison Limerick - Make It On My Own

(Flying Rulebook Mix)

The Spagatone remix by Tony Humphries is pure house music delight with some fantastic piano stabs throughout, just superb.

Alison Limerick - Make It On My Own

(Spagatone Mix)

The High Rise Mix again remixed by Tony Humphries sits somewhere between the first two and is again pure class.

Alison Limerick - Make It On My Own

(High Rise Mix)

The Dancing Divaz remix is well typical Dancing Divaz, energetic, lively and piano laden.

Just how we like them.

Enjoy!

Alison Limerick - Make It On My Own

(Dancing Divaz Club Mix)

Lord knows we've waited!

There are lots of remixes of this and despite good attempts by Frankie Foncett and MAW, none quite top this original version.

Alison was one of the truly great vocalists of our generation and was very much more than just "Where Love Lives".

This is a great track which showcases her amazing vocals.

Fantastic groovy laid back house music.

Enjoy!

Alison Limerick - Gettin' It Right

(Original Version)

Your happy faces!

Love this, some of the funkiest piano you could ever wish to hear, way back from 1989.

I could never understand why A Man Called Adam weren't bigger, as they had all the right ingredients.

Barefoot was their stand out track, but I always felt they should have had more acclaim.

I remember seeing them live at the Corn Exchange in 1993 and they were great.

Sally Rogers was a great vocalist and had great presence as a front person.

A Man Called Adam - Amoeba

I prefer the sweet!

A really strange and unique track this one and truly lives up to it's title.

It feels like a hard industrial techno track (Bitter), but it then breaks out into the most delightful latin influenced piano laden vibe (Sweet).

It then reverts back to the industrial techno feel.

A strange track indeed, but a good 'un though.

Enjoy!

6 Bells All - Sweet & Bitter

Everybody say- Let's get busy!

Stone cold house classic from 1990 by Marshall Jefferson under his Clubland guise.
Still sounds amazing 30 odd years on.
Just pure quality groovy house music laden with superb piano.
Cracking Morales remix as expected.
Feel the groove!

Clubland feat Quartz~Let's Get Busy
(The G Beats Mix)

Don't you want me?

Rock solid piece of quality house music from 1993.

This always sound great out in clubs and got a great reception on the dancefloor.

NY's Finest - Do You Feel Me
(Club Mix)

It then got a great re-working in 2015 which brought to life the piano even further.
A great remix, further enhancing an already top notch old classic.

N.Y's Finest - Do You Feel Me
(City Soul Project Remix)

Don't you bring me down!

There are lots of great remixes of this track, but this is IMHO the best.

Yes, it even tops the Chris and James version, which I've posted for comparison as they are similar.

Chris may have been involved in the Delorme mix, as I knew he did some remixes as Delorme with James Wiltshire.

Funnily enough James Wiltshire, also worked on the Chris and James remix as well.

The only think that small this track for me is the male vocal, which I'm not keen on.

A female vocal would of been much more effective.

That said it's still a great track.

Spirits - Don't Bring Me Down

(The Delorme's Full On Club Mix)

Spirits - Don't Bring Me Down

(Chris & James DMC Mix)

Keep on, keep on walking!

Yet another superb E-Smoove remix from 1992.

His remixes were always so sharp and uplifting.

Really great bouncy classic house music.

Very rare is it you come across a E-Smoove remix, which isn't A1 standard.

A great track, brought to life with a high class remix.

Enjoy!

Waterlillies - Tired of You

(E-Smoove's Groovy Mix)

Loving you, is easy cause you're beautiful!

 Love this.

It's just so simple, yet so dreamy and effective.

It is of course a cover of the fantastic Minnie Riperton classic from 1974 which is nearly 50 years old.

After the lovely gentle intro it then kicks off and is very similar to Age Of Love".

A cracking track well worthy of PCC status.

UBM - Lovin' You

(Club Mix)

Yes, I believed, Yes, I believed!

More quality house music from 1995.

This one has it all, some fabulous vocals, a great catchy chorus, some quality piano and a stomping tempo from start to finish.

A top notch house classic, with a very powerful effect on the dancefloor.

Enjoy!

YoJo Working - I Believed In You

(Club Mix)

I'm here to spread love, all over the world!

An old house classic from 1991 which was pretty timeless.

It was one of those tracks which just hung around for ages and was frequently played by most of the top jocks.

Just quality joyful uplifting house music.

I'm here to spread love, all over the world!

World Series Of Life - Spread Love

(12" )

Some rules should never be ignored!

A top track and to be fair Tin Tin Out usually put out some top notch stuff.

This is pulsing and throbbing in their usual style, taking you on a journey constantly building bringing in the vocals, then piano, drum roll and then take off.

Great remix by Matt Darey who was on fire around this time in 1998.

Great vocals by Shelley Nelson also.

Top notch track!

Tin Tin Out with Shelley Nelson -

Sometimes (Matt Darey Mix)

Look into the future!

Perhaps sounds a little dated now, but back in 1992, this tracks was electric.

Although the great piano tunes days were coming to an end, tracks like this kept appearing which kept the vibe alive.

It was always a great track to hear out and got crowd reaction.

New Atlantic - Into The Future

(12"  Mix)

Don't forget about us - how could we Mariah!

Another cracking  Mariah track courtesy of a great remix by Tony Moran and Warren Rigg.

As usual Mariah's vocals are exquisite and just a pure joy to listen to.

If I'm totally honest it's not quite up with her very best, but still pretty tasty all the same.

Mariah Carey - Don't Forget About Us

(Tony Moran & Warren Rigg Dance Floor Anthem)

Blowing bubbles!

Always loved this track as it was as catchy as hell.

Then LuvDup remixed it and blew it's socks off as per usual.

They always had a unique talent of knowing how to set a track on fire.

Enjoy!

Bubbleman ‎- Theme From Bubbleman

(LuvDup Present Theme Meets Get On)

You better keep the joy we found!

Another great house classic from 1992.

Just as good as the fantastic "Do It For Love".

It was another big Hac, Parky track.

Another great remix from Stonebridge also.

Quality house music indeed!

Ann Consuelo - See The Day

(Stonebridge Hyped Up Club Mix)

Forge your way ahead!

 Love this track.

Deep and moody, yet totally infectious with a killer bassline.

Some of JD's stuff can be a bit dull for my tastes, but this is right on it.

Pure class.

Bedrock - Forge

(Tom Middleton Remix)

Come on, tune in, to the life!

Always loved this track from 1992.

It's a real builder, so be patient with it.

It was a big Sasha track back int'day.

Not much of Shakespear's Sister in it, just a few nicely sampled warblings, but that doesn't detract from it.

Come on, tune in, to the life!

Black Sky, Blue World, Green  eyes!"

It's one of those tracks that has a warm fluffy appeal to it.

Enjoy!

Shakespear's Sister ‎- Black Sky

(Underworld Dub Extravaganza Part Two)

I've also included this remix which I also love, but was less popular in the clubs.

Love the piano in this.

Quality.

Shakespear's Sister ‎- Black Sky

(The Black Widow Mix)

Also added is the original version which is a quality piece of Indie Dance.

It has a similar feel to Fools Gold in parts.

Shakespear's Sister - Black Sky

(LP Version)

You're life has got you down, but now your spirit can fly!

Another track with a sensational intro.

Classic Morales quality and some great vocals from Ultra Nate.

Just joyful uplifting house music.

"You're life has got you down, but now your spirit can fly!"

Simply splendid!

David Morales & Ultra Nate - Planet Called Love

(David Morales Club Mix)

Trance music to soothe your soul!

Stunning piece of Goa trance from 1994.

So ethereal, yet so emotive.

Trance music to soothe your soul.

A great track to build into the start of a set creating an intoxicating vibe.

Quality trance music.

Enjoy!

Be-Zet - Blue Illusion

(Flat Horizon Mix)

You've got to get down!

Totally love this from 1995.

A truly outstanding intro, just lush.

Then what comes next is an explosive vibrant energetic hands in the air stomper.

Very much akin to the 1991 Italian piano house tracks.

Great track and superb remix.

Top notch, just like we love 'em!

The Solid Collective ‎– Can You Feel It

(Charlie's Stompin Piano Mix)

Damn - Only 14 hours to save the earth!

A fantastic piece of melodic piano laden trance from 1997.

Two fantastic remixes which are very hard to choose between, hence added them both.

The Trousers Enthusiasts remix which came out in 1998 is very much in their (ultra high) standard sound.

Enjoy!

Tomski - 14 Hours To Save The Earth

(Rebel Transcanner Mix)

Totally in your face!

Loved this track back in 1991.

Probably not quite as big or as well known as Pacific State or Cubik, but just as good IMHO.

Very raw and edgy.

Still sounds great today.

Enjoy!

Your Love vs You've Got The Love!

I've held off posting these tracks for a long time, but I can wait no more.

Two of clublands most prominent and influential tracks ever made.

If I had to choose I'd say Frankie's - Your Love, just pips "You've Got The Love", largely down to the fantastic vocal performance from Jamie Principle - which is just wonderful.

I've included a few of mixes of each track as there are so many great remixes to choose from, but these are my preferred ones.

All versions are just sublime and will always be true PCC's.

Frankie Knuckles Feat.  Jamie Principle - Your Love

(Original 12")

The Source feat. Candi Staton - You Got The Love

The Source feat. Candi Staton - You Got The Love

(Now Voyager Mix)

The Source - You Got the Love

(Steve Anderson Remix)

I was standing by the ocean!

Superb remix of an already fantastic New Order track.

Biff & Memphis were another great remix team.

This is a really explosive and energetic remix, typical of their style.

Enjoy!

"I was standing by the ocean"

New Order - Touched by the Hand of God

(Biff & Memphis Remix)

Angelic!

Not heard this for a while and then heard it at Cream Classical recently and just remembered what a fantastic track it is.

Up there with some of the all time trance classics.

The breakdowns in this and the piano chords are absolutely top notch - spine tingly good!!

Enjoy!

Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel

(PvD E-Werk Club Mix)

Miss you less, see you more!

I'm not a huge fan of Faithless as I find their stuff good, but a little too mainstream and mass market for my likings.

I do however love this track.

Great remix by Purple Disco Machine, who consistently produce great remixes.

Just love it when the piano kicks in.

Miss you less, see you more, love to know you better!

Faithless - Miss U Less, See U More 2.0

(Purple Disco Machine Remix)

Epic beyond words - no red faces here!

I have to say this one passed me by first time around in 2008 as it was well past by clubbing heydays, but boy oh boy what an absolutely epic track it is.

I recently attended a Cream Classical event and this was one of the highlights.

The track just builds and builds and then the sax comes in, then it builds some more and then finally explodes.

Ten and a half minutes of pure quality.

An absolute spellbinding track.

Of course the original Laurent Garnier track from 2000 was excellent and ground-breaking at the time, but this has to be one of the best re-creations in recent years.

Funkagenda & Mark Knight - Man With The Red Face

(Original Mix)

Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face

We never fade to grey!

One of the all time classic (dance) music tracks.

I don't think this is an official version, but it produces and epic journey through the wonderful orchestral intro right through into the main base of the track and then weaving the orchestral part back in again towards the end.

This was such unique track when it first came out in 1980 and I loved it then even though I was only 8 years old.

41 years later and it still sounds amazing.

This track will never fade to grey!

Visage - Fade To Grey

(Special Extended Version)

Visage - Fade To Grey
(Bassheads Piano Mix)

Over the years there have been many remixes and many tracks have sampled Fade To Grey, most of the remixes have never got anywhere near the original.

This still doesn't but is a very nice remix all the same with some delightful piano.
