What are you fighting for?

One of the great things about dance music which we all loved and the industry hated, was that there were very few prominent bands, which meant the scene stayed relatively underground and influenced by the great DJ's, remixers and club promoters.

One of the few great bands who constantly produced top notch tracks during this period were Sunscreem, although often it was down to great remixes to turn them into dancefloor classics.

This is a quality track from 1992 with a great remix by Paul Gotel under his WHP pseudonym.

Enjoy!

Sunscreem - Broken English

(Well Hung Parliament Vocal Mix)

Aah don't you want me!

With a name like Piano City Productions and a remix title "Totally Uplifting Mix" you'd expect something pretty good and I'm glad to say it doesn't disappoint.

More old skool quality.

James Sammon from PCP did some great stuff and worked under lots of different aliases, always staying true to the Piano House sounds of 1991.

Respect fella!

Enjoy!

Piano City Productions - I Want Your Love

(Totally Uplifting Mix)

Hear the music!

An old house classic from 1989.

A quality laid back track with some great piano.

"Feel the music, house music!"

Enjoy!

Mitchbal & The Housemaster - When I Hear The Music

I need you walking and talking with me!

A classic example of an Italian piano classic - just likes the ones we know and love.

This ones from 1990 and like all those old skool classics from that era still sounds so much better than all the tripe they call dance music today.

How can technology of progressed so much in the last 30 years yet dance music has gone backwards?

Viva la old skool!

M.C.P. featuring Sheila Abul - Over Me

(Vocal Mix)

Come on and dance!

Another quality old skool classic from 1991.

You will know it as soon as you hear it as it was a popular one.

Enjoy!

Brother Makes 3 - I Wanna

(Diva's All On It)

Go ahead Mr Wendal!

Always enjoyed this track from 1992.

Another great remix from Oakey/Osbourne.

A great combination of rapping and some quality piano layered in.

Top notch.

Enjoy!

Arrested Development - Mr Wendal

(Perfecto Mix)

Are you ready for the Total Confusion!

An absolute corker of a track which I haven't heard for ages and can't quite believe I haven't posted previously.
Great that 30 years on it still sounds amazing.
A proper old skool classic and yet another which stands the test of time.
Enjoy!

A Homeboy, A Hippie & A Funki Dredd - Total Confusion
(Heavenly Mix)

What we gonna do is go back!

"What we gonna do is go back, back into time!"

More quality from 1991 that really was the year that defined dance music, so many fantastic tracks from them.

Here's another old skool classic.

Enjoy!

P.S. Although it is the Techno Mix, there is nothing techno about this track.

Kamera - Back In The Time

(Techno Mix)

I know you want my love?

I can't believe this hasn't already been posted, seriously overlooked.

This is a classic old skool track from 1989.

Still sounds fantastic and always will.

Just a great, great track.

Enjoy!

Olimpia - You Want My Love

(Garage Mix)

Sunday, 6 December 2020

L.O.V.E. this one!

I can't believe that this hasn't been posted yet, shame on me!

This is an absolutely stonking track.

Just such crisp piano chords in this one, great production.

It was always huge in clubs.

A top, top track.

Love is indeed the message!

Enjoy!

Love Inc - Love Is The Message

(Baby Love Mix)

Saturday, 5 December 2020

Now for something a little different!

An amazing track from the absolute genius that was Andy Weatherall (RIP).

I've still got this on vinyl tucked away somewhere in my garage.

Just pure quality from start to finish.

Although lots of people raved about them, I wasn't always too big a fan of Sabres music, but this is superb.

Enjoy!

Sabres Of Paradise - Smokebelch II

(Exit)

Loving you was my mistake?

I can't quite believe that this hasn't been posted before.

Absolute top notch Italian piano classic from 1990.

Just a top track.

Still sounds great today 30 years on.

Enjoy!

Hi-Liner - Loving You

Rock it, yeah rock it!

Quality old skool track with some fabulous piano as you'd expect.

This one dates back to 1995 although it feels more like a Italian piano classic from circa 1991.

Great track all the same - "Reach the Top!"

Exodus To Paradise - Rock It

(Exodus To Paradise Remix)

Sunday, 29 November 2020

This certainly will make you smile?

I don't post too many new/recent tracks, quite simply because they are not of the same class and quality as the great house and club records made in the 80's/90s.

However, every now and again a great track comes along which is worthy of PCC status.

This one certainly is, it's a top notch house classic with a superb remix by Morales in his usual customary style.

Enjoy!

Timmy Regisford Ft. Felicia Graham & Tiger Wilson - Smile
(David Morales Classic Mix)

Are you ready to go?

This was a great track and still is.

At one time it looked like Republica would be the next big thing, but it didn't quite happen.

Saffron (Samantha Sprackling) the lead singer had real star quality.

This track is immense.

Get on it!

Republica - Ready To Go

(Original Extended Mix)

Are you ready for the Blackout?

One of the most fierce and frightening club tracks ever made, but also one of the best.

I was never fortunate enough to hear this played in a club, but can imagine that it would have been immense.

Using some of the same riff as French Kiss, but IMHO this is the better track.

It is gripping from start to finish and has you entranced by it's dark and fearful vibe.

Sensational track from way back - 1989.

A true house music classic.

Lil Louis - Blackout

(Phase 1 - Original 1989 Mix)

Lyrics below;

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures

He leaded me beside the still waters

He restoreth my soul

He leadeth me in a path of righteousness

For His name's sake

Yeah

Though I walk to the valley of the shadow of death

I will fear no evil, for thou art with me

Thy rod and thy staff comfort me

Thou prepares a table before me, in the presence of my enemies

Thou anoints my head with oil, my cup's runneth over

Surely goodness and mercy

Shall follow me all the days of my life

And I will dwell in the House of the Lord

Forever

Imagine this, the lights in the universe are all on

And at the flick of God's switch, all the lights in the world are all out

Yeah

You can run, but you can't hide

Because if we don't change quick, it's coming, a world eclipse

Black Out

The lights come on

The lights go off

Black out, at the flick of God's switch

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth

And the earth was without form and void

And darkness was above the face of the deep

And the spirits of God moved upon the face of the waters

And God said "let there be light", and there was light

The lights come on

The lights go off

Black out, at the flick of God's switch

The Lord is alpha and omega

The beginning and the ending

Do you believe?

For God's so loved the earth, that he gave his only son

Are you listening?

The lights come on

The lights go off

Black out, at the flick of God's switch

And I beheld when he opened the sixth seal

And Lord there was a great earthquake

And the sun became black a sackcloth of hair

And the moon became as blood

And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth even as

A fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together

And every mountain and island were moved out of their place

Think about it

If the Lord built the world in just 6 days

How long do you think it will take him to demolish it?

The lights come on

The lights go off

Black out, at the flick of God's switch

Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul

O my God, I trust in thee, let me not be shamed

Let not my enemies triumph over me

He is the light and my salvation whom shall I fear

He is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid

But fear not after the blackout the meek and humble shall inherit the earth

The question is are you meek and humble?

The lights come on the lights go off

Do you know the 10 commandments?

Read Exodus quick

Learn cause it is coming

Black out at the flick of God's switch

Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand

Imagine this the lights in the universe are all on

And at the flick of God's switch

All the lights in the world are all out

Yeah

You can run but you can't hide

Because if we don't change quick, it's coming a world eclipse

Black Out

The truth is now, don't wait, too late to wake up

For as it is written

Eyes have not seen nor ears heard

Neither have entered into the heart of man

The things that God had prepared for them that love him

Are you listening?

A blast from the past!

Always totally loved this, the minute that first chord kicks in you're hooked.

Top notch track and a superb remix by Jon DaSilva.

A big Hacienda anthem and rightly so, it has so much energy and feel.

Pure class.

Enjoy!

A Certain Ratio - 27 Forever

(DaSilva's Soundstation Fix Mix)

Trance-tastic!!

Cracking piece of quality trance, just how we like them on the PCC blog.

This has a slightly softer side with the female vocal, but is top drawer all the same.

A great Lange remix.

Get on it!

Rhythm Of Life - You Put Me In Heaven With Your Touch

(Lange Remix)

Sunday, 8 November 2020

Ooh I love it!

Superb old house track which dates back to 1985, hence one of the very first Chicago house tracks.

Still sounds top notch 35 years on.

"Ooh I love it!"

Yes indeed!

Enjoy!

Mark Imperial - J'adore Danser

( Club Mix )

Come on let's work!

This brought to life the original but a little dull LNR version of "Work it to the bone".

This was a huge track back int'day in 1989.

A little commercial and possibly a bit too cheesy for the purists, but nonetheless a very catchy little track, with some quality piano thrown in for good measure.

Come on let's work!

Cappella - Helyom Halib

I am the magnificent!

Just love this track, brought to my attention when it appeared on the infamous T.W.A Essential Mix, which was one of my all time fave mix sets.

Those guys were different class and they created some amazing nights at Vague in Leeds.

Great memories.

This track epitomises their totally off the wall Balearic stylee!

Dave & Ansell Collins - Double Barrel

Jimmy rocks it again, over and over and over!

Another faultless remix from Mr James Wiltshire (a.k.a. Jimmy Gomez).

There are Brothers In Rhythm and Sasha remixes of this track, but both pale in insignificance to this epic masterpiece.

Those of who who follow the PCC blog will be well aware of my penchant for Jimmy Gomez remixes and I'm glad to report this is right up there with the best of them.

It takes you on the usual journey and is laden with spine-tingling piano.

Pure class, over and over, over, over!

Horse - Careful

(Jimmy Gomez Club Mix)

People of all nations, dancing together!

Really surprised that I haven't posted this before.

Top quality piano track from back int'day.

Always enjoyed hearing this and it still sounds great.

Those lyrics "People of all nations dancing together" were the epitome of Acid House and the Club scene.

Peace out!

Smallage - Together

(Club Version)

All dis music!

Such an amazing track with a lovely feel to it.

A real house classic and one which should have been much bigger.

The vocals are superb and the track has such a fantastic feel to it.

Absolute top notch house classic.

Enjoy!

Romance - All Dis Music

(Club Mix)

Ooh you make my love come down!

Absolutely stunning track from one of my favourite female vocalists.

Everything about this track oozes class.

Superb vocals, fantastic production and some delightful piano thrown in for good measure.

Produced by The Beloved which explains why it has such a beautiful glowing feel to the track.

A true PCC!

Enjoy!

Alison Limerick - Love Come Down

(Club Vocal Mix)

Quality little piano stomper!

Just staying on the right line of the too cheesy divide.

A quality little piano stomper.

Please don't try the version with vocals (now that is cheesy).

This is a quality little track though!

Enjoy!

Mystify ‎– Come To The Party

(Dub Mix)

This is Brutal!

This one goes way back, back all the way to 1986.

An absolute classic which still sounds amazing today.

Pure quality.

Let's get "brutal with the millimeters"???

Nitro Deluxe - Lets Get Brutal

(U.S. Version)

And we all shine on!

Cleveland City did some great remixes.

Always tinged with lots of great piano.

This is no exception.

Not quite as instant as "Let Love Shine".

A quality little PCC all the same.

Enjoy!

Amos - Only Saw Today

(Cleveland City Club Mix)

Let's get Oochy Koochy!

Love this track, proper Acid House Warehouse track.

Lots of acid thrown in and some excellent piano.

Such energy about this track.

It was a big one back in early days of Acid House!

Baby Ford - Oochy Koochy

(F U Baby Yeh Yeh Konrad Cadet Mix)

Come on Jam the Dance!

Totally love this track and one I've not heard for ages.

I can't believe it hasn't been posted until now.

Top drawer Italian House piano classic.

Jam the Dance indeed.

Love this.

Enjoy!

Asmo - Jam The Dance

Got to work it out!

One of the best and possibly most under-rated remix teams out there.

WoW produced some scintillating tracks and remixes.

This one is right up there and sticks with their tried and tested formula of a long progressive build up topped off with a crescendo of blissful piano (just how I like them).

Another corker of a track, respect to the Bristol possee!

Bel Canto - We've Got To Work It Out

(Way Out West Mix)

I go through all this...

Fantastic track with a faultless mix by Morales.

It is slightly more in Frankie Knuckles style, than typical Morales, but delicious all the same.

House music of the highest order.

Bjork - Hyperballad

(David Morales Classic Mix)

Hit Me, Hit Me!

Love this bit of Balearic quality.

Dean Thatcher behind this one.

Top class piano in this one, still sounds great 29 years on!

Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick

(Flying Remix)

Stay with me on this one!

Ok, I know some of you maybe thinking has PCC gone mad, posting the Vengaboys.

Fear not, as you know only top class dance music is posted on this blog and this track is just that.

Hat's off to Airscape for a top notch remix.

Enjoy!

Vengaboys - Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine)

(Airscape Remix)

Make sure you Get It Right!

The Project are better know for their stupendous "Out Of Control" a big fave on the PCC blog and posted a few times before.
This is not quite at that very high standard, but still worth of PCC status.
It has a very similar vibe, with the piano, vocals and the little bit of rap thrown in for good measure.
Another great Old Skool track.
Enjoy!

The Project feat Linda Rice - Get It Right
(FHR's Club Mix)

Definitely Happenin' All Over Again!

Missed this version first time around and only came across it recently.

Top notch remix though and so much better than the original versions which were overplayed and too commercial.

If you like your piano and Old Skool, then this ones for you.

You know it!

Lonnie Gordon - Happenin' All Over Again

(Haarsh Reality Remix)

Staying on the faster tempo, here's a great piece of Trance just as we like it.

Fantastic breathy vocals and as ever a great remix by Matt Darey.

A really great pumping piece of quality trance music, an essential component of a well balanced dance music diet.

20 years old, it still knocks the pants of any of this commercial crap trance produced nowadays.

Enjoy!

Delerium - Heaven's Earth

(Matt Darey Remix)

Raising the tempo!

This track was a real banger back in't day.

A bit of contrast in tempo to the last track posted, but that is the beauty of dance music it comes in all shapes and sizes and good is good regardless of tempo.

This is a real stomper which epitomised the type of tracks Tony De Vit used to play.

Tony was a great DJ and also produced and remixed many top notch tracks (R.I.P and respect).

This is certainly on the harder side of tracks you'll see on this blog, but is hopefully one you'll enjoy?

99th Floor Elevators - Hooked

(Tony De Vit Mix)

Pure Balearic Bliss!

Those of you who have frequented the PCC blog before will be aware of my love of all things Balearic.

This is a true Balearic classic. Perfect for those balmy (or barmy) summer nights, or equally for those chilled Sunday mornings.

Balearic Beats in the house.

This is 25 years old, but still sounds fantastic.

D*Note ‎– The Garden Of Earthly Delights

(Original Version)

We Rock The Best? - We certainly do!

A quality old skool track, lots of great piano and boundless energy.

This one was from 1996 and was part of double A 12".

The other side was quality also and worthy of PCC status and will be posted in due course.

Those that like their tracks "Hands In The Air" style-ee will enjoy this.

2-4-U  - We Rock The Best

Go on Frankie - Check out this mix!

Everyone will be familiar with the traditional classic Voodoo Ray track, but this mix is less well known but IMHO truly sensational.

Frankie Knuckles (R.I.P) was arguably the most influential person in House music - period!

His remix work is always outstanding and this mix is truly fabulous. David Morales on percussion for good measure.

This is now 31 years old and still sounds amazing. A true PCC timeless classic!

Enjoy!

A Guy Called Gerald ‎– Voodoo Ray

( Frankie Knuckles Paradise Ballroom Mix)

PCC is back (again)!

Well after previously deciding that I wouldn't be posting tracks on the PCC blog anymore, I've taken a U-Turn on that decision and will be starting back up with regular new posts.

There are a few reasons for the change, firstly I've got a little more free time then I had previously which is a big factor. Secondly there are just so many great tracks yet to post and share. I think I've probably posted most of my all time faves, but there are still tracks out there that I'm unearthing. forgotten about or haven't heard for years. Those sort of tracks which send that tingle down your spine, they are so good.

Another key reason for starting up again, is that I've realised despite all the different social media outlets, there probably isn't anything (I've come across) which lists and tabulates all the great tracks in one place. I've realised that the PCC blog is probably one of the best reference points for all the great tracks which we loved and enjoyed from the Acid House era in '87 through to the "death of UK clubbing" (as we knew it) in 2000.

All reasons to get this thing started again.

All posts will be direct links to tracks which are on YouTube.

The purpose is to share those wonderful tracks which gave us our fantastic never to be forgotten memories of an era of dance music which changed all our lives for the better.

Keep checking in, keep dropping comments and keep suggesting any tracks which you think are worthy of PCC status and have yet to be posted.

Viva la PCC!

Here's kicking off with a great house track from 1995 which was a big Hacienda fave hammered by Parky.

Enjoy!!

D'Bora - Good Love Real Love

(Maurice's Real Club Mix)

PCC is still alive!

Although the blog will no longer be updated Pure Club Classics will remain live and active via the PCC Facbook page https://www.facebook.com/pureclub.classics

There we will continue to post the finest dance music to hit our dance floors.

As in true PCC spirit the focus will be on the halcyon days of 1987 to 2000, but we will also be posting lots of new tracks and also great new DJ mix sets that we have come across.

It's truly amazing to see that the likes of Parky, Oakey, Danny Rampling, Carl Cox, Luvdup Twins, Allister Whitehead  are still out there slaying it and at the forefront of dance music, just as they were back in't day.
Total respect to those doyens of club music.

It just shows the passion and love for the music that they have.
Muchas gracias for not just leading the way but also continuing to set the dance music agenda for a new generation.

If you like quality dance music keep vising the PCC Facebook page and get involved in the discussion.

Feel free to post comments, tracks you love or mix sets that you treasure.

Dance music influenced and changed the lives of many of us, so let's keep the faith and the "Spirit of Ibiza".
