An all time classic by the The Amen Ra of Universal Hip Hop Culture. A track so good even Big Bird did a version.
Afrika Bambaataa - Just Get Up And Dance (Club Mix)
Afrika Bambaataa - Just Get Up And Dance (Acappella Mix)
Now the original of this track is a great classic from 89, but those DMC boys mixed it up a treat.
An all round quality house tune from beginning to end
Marshall Jefferson - Gotta Have House (DMC Anthemic Mix)

I had to check 3 times to make sure that this track hadn't been posted before.
Remixed by one of my all time favorite artists - Steve "Silk" Hurley
This is just 5 minutes of pure house bliss. I have quite a few more Hurley classics in the shed - time to dig them out I think.
Roberta Flack - Uh-Uh Ooh-Ooh Look Out (Here It Comes) (Steve Hurley's House Mix)

This post is for Leeds DJ
Thanks for the comments about the Joe Roberts remix - you're right D.O.P. ruled in the 90s - they were massive in the progressive house scene. Here are two more brilliant examples why:
D.O.P - Feels Real Good
D.O.P. - Here I Go

This was a track which was huge at Back to Basics in Leeds (hence the flyer) and always got a great dancefloor reaction.
It is very dark, but also very infectious.
A great remix by Oakenfold and Osbourne, they were right at their remix peak around this time.
The track is very dramatic with the whispered Gary Clail vocals.
I always loved the line;
"Designer drugs at designer prices, pills, thrills and other vices"
Whos pays the piper indeed!!!

Beuatiful melodic trance at it's very best.
This is hauntingly beautiful, it has a fantastic atmposhere and a lovely velvety vocal.
"Wanna stay here forever"
This one is as recent as 2007, which probably makes it one of the most recent tracks on the blog.

People may remember the DNA version which was big on the club scene in the early 90's.
My fave use of the sample was in Dilemma - In Spirit - one of may all time favourite tracks.
However, this original version is absolutely amazing and one that will never date.
It was produced in 1981 and was only 2mins 18mins long.
This extended disco version spices it up just a touch more, whilst retaining the beauty of the original.
A truly amazing piece of music with fantastic emotion.
Big shout out to Stephen for bringing it to my attention again.
Keep them tracks coming fella, nice one!!
Rondo' Veneziano - La Serenissima
(Extended Disco Version)
Big on the US clubbing scene back in the days, so I'm informed.
It was a track which was new to me, but one I'm absolutely hooked on.
It was originally released in 1987 by a band called When In Rome, but this version absolutely knocks the spots off the original.
It's got absolutely everything; superb vocals, great lyrics, some great subtle snippets of piano and just a delicious groove.
Massive in every sense.
Just checks these lyrics, fantastic for a sing along;
"I'm sorry but I'm just thinking of the right words to say
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be
But if you wait around a while I'll make you fall for me
I promise you, I promise you I will"
Tony Moran - The Promise
(Tony Moran and Warren Rigg Extended Mix)
