It was one of those that you always heard out in clubs and totally loved but never knew what it was called.
It was huge back in 1993 and pretty much every decent Jock had it in his/her box.
Just so catchy and a really great groove, a fantastic piece of progressive house which was very much in vogue in '93.
Still sounds amazing 30 years on.

That aside, this is still a cracking old skool track, definitely a little dated now, but still a little cracker!

This is a real old skool classic from 1990 and a widely known and widely played track.
Always went down well on any dancefloor I was on.
Still sounds great, although a little dated, but that piano is just heavenly and the sax near the end is pretty special as well.
Great track then, still a great track now!

One of those tracks which always went down well on the dancefloor whatever time of night.
It's a mish-mash of loads of samples and snippets that even 30 years on still sounds great.

Digital Domain - I Need Relief
I saw the Monday live a few times and they were always chaotically brilliant.
I think it was the G Mex in 1990 and Elland Road in 1991.
Great band, great times.
This is a great remix from 2020, which sticks pretty close to the original, but also gives it some extra fizz.
This track still sounds amazing and totally timeless, in essence it defined an era!

Boy the legend produced some fantastic tracks, this is another sensational remix right up there with his best stuff (but to be honest everything he ever touched was golden).
Love everything about this track, great vocals, great vibe, great feel and of course Frankie's sensational piano sprinkled in aplenty.
Let's laugh and cry until we die!

I'd class this as Balearic maybe touching on New Beat or just simply a "bloody cracking track".

This is a delightful track with some fantastic complimentary male and female vocals.
Feeling this way, makes me feel like falling!
Laura Hallet's vocals are angelic, why wasn't she on more tracks?
Or maybe she was under an alias (sounds very much like Maria Nayler)?

However, it always great to hear new tracks which just take my breath away.
This is one such track.
It has a pretty slow build up and although good it's just doesn't reveal what's about to come next; an absolutely sensational piano break down which is just heaven.
This really is a special track.

I really miss the use of "proper instruments" on current tracks and this one has some great musical production.

Gorgeous vocals by Claudia Kennaugh and some delightful piano over a great driving deep house groove.
Certainly one of the tracks of the year so far for me.
I can well imagine this one being huge in the more discerning clubs this summer.
Greg is the son of the great Cerrone (Marc Cerrone) the legendary disco artist and producer from the 70's and 80's.
Great to see he has inherited some of his Father's musical talents.

Just so chilled and with those heavenly chimes, it just puts you in another place.
This has featured on many Balearic albums and rightly so, as it epitomises that Cafe Del Mar scene.
I've also included a more recent Charles Shillings remix, which is pretty good and very similar just a little bit faster and punchier, but still containing the great aura of the original.

It is still to this day the best DJ mix set I have ever heard and still sounds brilliant almost 30 years later.
It was posted on the PCC blog many moons ago, so make sure you check it out if you've not heard it.
By hook or by crook most of the tracks from that mix set have managed to make their way onto the PCC blog, just because they were all pretty amazing.
This is probably a lesser know one, but fabulous all the same.
It's a great track by the notorious Annabella Lwin, possibly most famous for posing naked on a Bow Wow Wow album cover as a 14 year old back in 1982. (It certainly wouldn't happen nowadays folks!).
The track is ballsy and contains lots of sex chants, underpinned by a really hypnotic groove.
It's a really great and unique track, typical of the Chris & James ear for obscure gems.
Get on it, you'll not regret it!

This one is in that classic 1991 Italian piano house vein.
It was one of those tracks that was on every club/rave dancefloor in 1991.
A top track, which does sound a bit dated now and has lost a touch of it's fizz.
However, still one which brings a smile to one's face and some great memories of a fantastic era in clubland!

Expo Bass Sample's - I Need Somebody

However, as with pretty much everything they touch Heaven 7th have done a great job and kept true to the original whilst adding a bit of extra fizz and their customary dance/crossover vibe.
Maybe not one for the purists, but I can guarantee that this would rock dancefloors if dropped at the right time.

Here's the second Alysha Warren track posted on the PCC blog.
It's not quite as infectious as the classic "I Pray", but is a pretty decent track all the same.
It takes a while to warm up, but hits the right notes when the piano kicks in.
Alysha has seriously gorgeous vocals, almost velvety!
A fine remix from Danny D from 1994.

It starts with a chuggy laid back vibe and then in true TE form it kicks up to a pounding, throbbing beast. Then bid tempo is drops back to the slow laid back vibe, only to ratchet up again.
It owes a lot to U2's - Where The Streets Have No Names and uses that riff very well.
All in all a cracking track which keeps you fully engrossed from start to finish.
Alabama 3 - Ain't Goin' To Goa

They are one of those artists who just get it.
Every track is a journey and every track has a real vibe.
This is right on form and it simply gives you that warm glowing, luxurious feel!
This track almost massages your soul.

I loved some of the work Definition of Sound did, they were one of the few acts who bridged that hip-housey - mainstream vibe very well.
This track is sensational courteousy of another superb Todd remix.
I love the guitar riff on this one, which just adds that extra dimension and coupled with that lush piano and you have a true PCC.
A really superb track.

The vocals are lush and the piano just superb.
An excellent piece of laid back, (possibly slightly commercial) house music.

This is right up there with some of his finest remixes which is no faint praise.
Pretty spell blinding combination of deep house, luscious piano and some great percussion.
I'm not crazy about the male vocals and there is a dub version which is also very good.
Great track though.

Greg was a legend from the early days of Electro and is still going strong.
This track is sensational containing some great acid vibes, entwined with some lush vocals and some glorious piano.

Her voice was angelic and her lyrics always edgy and very real.
When her tracks were remixed they just went to another level.
Already quite a few of her best tracks have been posted many years ago, so another one is long overdue.
This is excellent, not as good as others posted, but still top notch.
This was one of her earlier tracks dating back to 2004.
The lady can do no wrong in my eyes.

This time Howard Jones - 80s pop star gets the TE treatment which creates another barnstorming track, full of energy, banging and fizzing along.

It's a bit of a mish-mash of everything with vibes of dub, funk, tribal laden with some great piano riffs.
Additionally, I've always been a sucker for tracks which had police sirens in them.
It was another track that I first heard on Parky's great radio show!
This has just been re-released, so expect to hear it on the nations more discerning dancefloors.

The riff in this is to die for and Todd's usual crunchy house beats create a true house classic.
This is from 1994 and almost 30 years on it still sounds amazing and fresh.

I hated The Cure growing up as a young teen, mainly because my sister loved them.
As I matured I began to appreciate their true genius and they truly deserve their place in the upper echelons of UK music history.
When they remixed their tracks via the Mixed Up album their brilliance was converted to the dancefloors instantly creating Balearic masterpieces of which this is one.

It was a mainstay of many of Parky's and Danny Rampling's sets back in 1992.
Very fond memories of bopping away in the Hac to this one.
It's just one of those tracks that instantly brings a smile to your face.
The piano is just so infectious.
All we need is some sunshine, which is sadly lacking in the UK at the moment (no surprise there!).

It has all the right ingredients. such lush vocals, a great groove and of course some corking piano.
Defin itely should have been more popular.

Valerie is the same vocalist as on the fabulous Novocento track "Leaving Now" which was massive in clubland in 1994 and was posted on the PCC blog back in 2009.
This track from 1984 is more Italo disco based, but is still amazing thanks to her truly stunning ethereal vocals.
It's a slice of dance music heaven!

The former was usually due to some fantastic remix work and this is a classic example.
There are so many remixes of this track and many very good, but none quite touches this IMHO.
The slow intro is so luxurious and teasing and was a great set opener.
The Graeme Park remix is also superb (as always) and there are many others worthy of listen.

It's a little reminiscent to MJ's Black & White in parts and truth be told, there's not much of Matt in it, which is probably a good thing.

I'm not a big fan of male vocals, but Jamie Principle is one of my faves.
His vocals are always electric and this is no exception.
Cover your ears if you don't like expletives, but this track is off the scale.
30 odd years on and it still sounds just as good as it did back in '89.
Proper house music gold.

This is and always will be one of the original rave anthems, yes it went mainstream, yes it was overplayed, yes parts of it do sound very cheesy and very dated, but that sax riff will never age and will always continue to send shivers down anybody with a dancing bone in their body.
Additionally the piano on this track is also "off the wall" and equally epic!
It's well past 1990 and sadly the Guru is no longer with us, but this track always will be.
Respect to the Old Skool crew!
