Happy hours, golden showers!

Surprised I've not posted this before now.

A quality pop track given some serious remix work.

Danny T produced some real work of arts and this is right up there with them.

Shirely Manson was a great vocalist and had such presence.

The lyrics are also fantastic.

Happy hours, golden showers!

Just such a great track - all 11 mins plus of it!

Garbage - When I Grow Up

(Danny Tenaglia Club remix)

Low down son of a gun!

This track has it all.

Great lyrics, gorgeous vocals by Rochelle Fleming, all those great disco instruments and a great remix by DT.

The original track dates back to 1979, but this remix is from 1993.

Classy all round!

Keep the Faith!

As a further tribute to Maxi, here's another well known Faithless track given a monster re-working.

Pretty much everything Above & Beyond touched was pure gold and this is no exception.

It retains the original vibe of the track, but just adds another dimension.

I also had to post the Danny Tenaglia remix which is equally awesome - 12 minutes of pure adrenaline.

Whilst the Way Out West Mix oozes their usual class and is also a cracker.

I'm not sure I could choose which is the best as they are all pretty different, but all very awesome at the same time.

That's the beauty of remixes!

Enjoy!

Who needs it?

Image result for blondie
Well I most certainly need some of this.
It's been posted on the PCC blog some time ago, but that was by a guest poster, so I thought I'd post myself and add a bit of commentary.
The track itself is sensational and was a massive track for Oakey in the 90's and a regular feature of his epic sets, including many an Essential Mix.
It is a fantastic remix by Danny Tengalia, possibly his finest hour.
The track is just one long journey of sensational pleasure, floating along beautifully with Debbie Harry's luscious vocals and some very catchy lyrics.
"Some days are all Mondays.
Sort of time on ice.
It seems like jet planes sit on runways under clear blue skies.
Who needs it?

Nothing is real but the girl.
Nothing is real but me.

Money goes to money in a figure eight; around me.
Money where will love be, when you liquidate, you're drowning.

Nothing is real but the girl, nothing is real but me.
Nothing is real but the girl, nothing is real but me.

Wind down.
Put your mind down like your missing school.
I'll teach you to find out while your dying in your living room how much you need me.

Nothing is real but the girl, nothing is real but me.
Nothing is real but the girl, nothing is real but me.

Nothing is real but the girl, nothing is real but me.
Nothing is real but the girl, nothing is real but me."

A truly sensational track!
Enjoy!

Never knew?

A cracking little track this one.
Two mixes here.
The Danny Tenaglia mix is more underground, whilst the Reverend Jefferson reason is very upbeat and lively.
Both very good though!

Salsoul Sensation

The recent passing of Donna Summer put me in mind of another disco legend who left the land of the living last year. Though she has already been tributed on these pages, the peerless contribution of Loleatta Holloway to the club classics canon surely warrants further recognition. Rather than posting some of the usual suspects - Cevin Fisher, Black Box, Cappella, Lenny Fontana - which predominately sample different parts of the vocal from 'Love Sensation', here are a few rather more obscure examples of Ms Holloway's original recordings, including the highly apposite 'No Apology'. What an incredible voice; her ubiquity spanned literally decades, from Salsoul to Fire Island to Sunshine State; from Dan Hartman to Melted Artists to Johnny Vicious. I include the tribal house remix of 'Shout to the Top' by Club 69 on account of the fact that this is the version I remember boogeying on down to back in '98.

Put Your Mind Down

Here is an underrated classic of the highest possible caliber. The lesser-known follow up to 'Maria', 'Nothing Is Real But the Girl' was released at some point in 1999. Danny Tenaglia was commissioned to craft the club-oriented rework, an undertaking he fulfills with some aplomb. DT's version is nothing short of spectacular, translating as a song in its own right, rather than just a remix. It is the work of pure genius, and it has everything - pathos, funk, euphoria, insight, inspiration - definitely and without a shadow of a doubt, a bona fide PCC.
