Set the wheels in motion!

I could pretty much post Blue Amazon's entire back catalogue such was the quality of their remix and production work.

Much like Above & Beyond, Trouser Enthusiasts, Gabriel & Dresden and other they appear on the PCC blog multiple times because they created and recreated some many great tracks.

This one is an epic 15 minute journey with lots of superb build up, lush piano and some delightful vocals from Jayn Hanna.

Set the wheels in motion!

Feel the heat is rising!

Feel the rain!

Well I'd always loved Erasure and love Blue Amazon also, so put them together and I guess I should that also, which I'm pleased to report, I do.

This is just as you'd expect from Blue Amazon a true progressive musical journey, that grips you from start to finish.

There's not much Erasure in here, but not to worry!

A true epic house masterpiece.

Enjoy!

How could we ever forget? (How great this is!)

Blue Amazon were pretty amazing and everything that touched was just supreme.

This is right up their with some of their best.

Strap yourselves in it's an epic 15 minute journey, but one that keeps you fully engrossed throughout.

Layers and layers of superb progressive house at it's very finest and building and building until that heavenly peak with those delightful piano chords and the helicopter/chopper blades sound effects.

Pure class as always from the Amazonians!

Everyday hurts??

An absolutely epic track, as are many of Blue Amazon's remixes.

They certainly produced and remixed some top notch tracks.

This takes you on a huge journey - all 14 and a half minutes of it, but it is one that never gets boring.

The track just keeps on building and building, like all great trance/progressive house tracks.

Skin's unique vocals are equally sensational.

There's probably not enough Blue Amazon on the blog and something I'll have to address in future posts.

Spellbindingly good!!

An absolute monster of a track (in length also at over 15 minutes).
It takes a while to get there, but it's oh so worth it.
Blue Amazon at their very best  - pure brilliance!!!

Bullitt In the Gun

Referencing Blue Amazon in the Jayn Hanna post caused me to ruminate that perhaps they've been a touch overlooked on the blog in the past. Their contribution to the epic house canon, with 'No Other Love' and 'Star of David', simply cannot be denied. So, after some deliberation, here is one of the finest remixes they ever put out. 'Cried to Dream' surfaced in '96 on the :VC: imprint, a label that was on top form back then. The track was most noted for Blue Amazon's hugely epic remix which served to further raise the act's profile. Some four years later 'Cried to Dream' surfaced again, this time in a limited quantity. Max Graham's remix, as lifted from Oakey's 'Travelling' compilation, tastefully updates the track for twenty-first century pallets, excising a lot of the vocals whilst retaining the epic feel of the BA mix.

A World Without Confusion

This is one of those rare tracks whereupon every single mix is completely spellbinding. Issued on the S3 label at some indeterminate point in 1996, 'My Life Is In Your Hands' stood out at as an epic house masterpiece at a time when the world was apparently obsessed with 'dream house'. An epic journey in its original form, I personally prefer the Dekkard & Dane 7" edit which condenses the original version and foregrounds the big diva vocals (something of a rarity of the time, as progressive house numbers of this era - with a few notable exceptions - tended to feature ethereal, 'little girl lost' vocals). Blue Amazon deliver one the highlights of their remix career, whilst Lisa Marie Experience lay down a piano-tastic, memorably uplifting rethink. Despite the strength of the remixes, the original remains, in my estimation, the best. This is one of my all time favourite tracks, and I can still recall sitting bolt upright when I first heard it being played on some Saturday night Radio City dance show, utterly enraptured.

There's no other Love!!

A real classic and one that Oakey used to hammer.
Everything about this track is quality, it just builds and builds until that haunting chorus
"There's no other Love, no other Love, There's no other Love"
Absolutely love it!! There's even a bit of "squelchy acid" thrown in for good measure and some wonderful piano.
Such emotion and feeling in this track, one to bliss out to on the dancefloor
Choon!!
