Skin deep!

That whole New York Twilo period of the late 90's early 2000's where Junior Vasquez, Peter Rauhofer, Hex Hector, Thunderpuss ruled the roost with really long epic remixes of pop songs was very exciting.

Here Peter Rauhofer goes to work under his Club 69 alias creating another club banger from a pretty standard pop track as was his style.

Long epic journeys, with lots of peaks and builds were his thing, creating making an epic track.

This probably isn't one of his very best, but still pretty epic.

You make me hot!

Great piece of uplifting house from 1995.

Great vocals, great piano, quality house music just as we like it.

Great remix from Mark P.

The lyrics are a bit cheesey, but this doesn't detract from it being a great track

"You take me higher and higher,

You fulfil my desires!"

Enjoy!

The greatest love of all - Great dance music aka PCCs!!

Great dance music comes in all shapes and sizes and this blog has always posted a huge variety of the finest dance tracks to appear on dance floors across the world.
This has taken in house, balearic, trance, progressive, handbag house, disco and many other forms.
Always coupled in this has been an element of the cheesier side of dance music, which I've always unashamedly posted. Most notably those tracks which although slightly overground and cheesy for the purist amongst you, but are  none the less bonafide PCCs, that truly rocked clubland.
Here's just one such track.
A big thanks to Simon for sharing this. It is a huge sing-along-anthem and I'm informed went down a storm in Manchester's finest clubs.
The remix is by Peter Rauhofer (aka Club 69) who remixed many great tracks and sadly passed away this week. R.I.P.
Whitney's vocals sound amazing on this - she's also sadly missed.
Let's celebrate their respective talents!
Enjoy!!

Salsoul Sensation

The recent passing of Donna Summer put me in mind of another disco legend who left the land of the living last year. Though she has already been tributed on these pages, the peerless contribution of Loleatta Holloway to the club classics canon surely warrants further recognition. Rather than posting some of the usual suspects - Cevin Fisher, Black Box, Cappella, Lenny Fontana - which predominately sample different parts of the vocal from 'Love Sensation', here are a few rather more obscure examples of Ms Holloway's original recordings, including the highly apposite 'No Apology'. What an incredible voice; her ubiquity spanned literally decades, from Salsoul to Fire Island to Sunshine State; from Dan Hartman to Melted Artists to Johnny Vicious. I include the tribal house remix of 'Shout to the Top' by Club 69 on account of the fact that this is the version I remember boogeying on down to back in '98.
