A true masterpiece!

I've posted lots of different mash ups of this utilising the astounding Charvoni vocals, but not the actual track.

There are lots of remixes of this by some acclaimed remixers like Sunday Club, Phil Kelsey, Playboys, but nothing tops this original BiR production.

It is such an amazing and powerful track.

Charvoni's vocals are just fantastic and the rest is the stunning BiR production with Dave providing the club feel and Steve the production genius.

31 years on and this still sounds wonderful and much better than any of the tracks produced today.

It's amazing that 30 years of technology progress and the producers and creators of music today can't touch the genius of BiR.

'Cause, it's worth it!

Staying on the Pet Shop Boys theme, I couldn't resist posting this one.

Yet another superb Brothers In Rhythm remix creates a epic re-working of a great pop song.

My admiration for the PSB's has grown over the years as I've uncovered more of their underground tracks and this is right up there with their best stuff.

Neil's vocals are always so distinctive and they work to great effect on this track.

BiR of course have the Midas touch and voila we have a supremely produced piece of dance music delight.

To move your body; together!

Love this track from 1992 which was very original at the time from Phil Kelsey.

A superb remix by Brothers in Rhythm, Dave Seaman and Steve Anderson under their Creative Thieves moniker.

This one twists and turns with lots of familiar samples and some great touches of piano.

Still sounds great nearly 30 years on.

Music is my life, it's the joy I have inside!

Throw two of my favourite remixers together and you're bound to get something special and this certainly doesn't disappoint.

You're instantly hooked from the opening police type sirens, then lush piano chords, throw in some great vocals and you have your bonafide PCC.

Great track from 1992, which still feels electric today, nearly 30 years on.

Enjoy!

Sometimes you just gotta keep searchin'!

I searched for this track for years and years and I've finally got to the version I wanted.

I first heard it on an old mix tape from 1992 which I used to play to death.

I then (wrongly) assumed it was Kylie Minogue and tried to track down all the versions and remixes of her track.

Although the Brothers In Rhythm remixes were great, they just weren't a patch on this track.

Then in 2009 I came across this Within A Dream version and posted it on the blog, but although it was the right track, it still wasn't the right mix.

12 years on I've finally found the mix I was after and here it is.

Well worth the wait, it is an absolute corker of a track with little "fireworks" shooting off frequently and some delightful piano interlaced with some great female vocals.

Sometimes you just gotta keep searchin'!

Enjoy!

R.I.P. to a true pop Legend!

David Bowie never really touched the dancefloor too much but he was a true inspiration for many people a bona fide icon, legend and innovator.
His only real flirtations with the club dancefloors as we know it was this track (and the Placebo B.I.R. remix) and like anything B.I.R. touched it was pure gold dust.
I remember first hearing this on Pete Tong Essential Selection show on Friday night back in 1993 when it was "tune of the week".
That was back in the day when we used to tape off the radio (remember that? You probably won't unless you are over 40).
I they repeatedly played the track to death, until I was able to get it on vinyl and I still have that 12" stored away somewhere in the garage.
The track was just awesome, as with all B.I.R remixes it built and built and then exploded.
I've posted this track previously on the PCC blog back in February 2009 (wow, how time flies).
R.I.P. Mr Bowie - legend is a vastly over used word, but you were certainly one.

S Club on PCC blog shocker!!

I know I post a touch of cheese now an again and usually (justifiably) get a bit of stick for it.
Well there could be some more for this one.
However, I'll defend it as this is a cracking remix.
Very reminiscent of his Xanadu remix, this is tops!!
Steve Anderson is a musical genius - pure and simple and will always be one of my all time fave remixers.
Top man, top track.
Enjoy!! (or not??)

Bathe in the afterglow!!!

Tonight feels like a nostalgia night and a celebration of my favourite remixes who are still at it, producing amazing tracks.
This one has big Brothers In Rhythm connections, as I believe that Steve Anderson was involved in the making of it and Dave Seaman was involved in widely promoting it and playing it in his sets in 2008.
You can certainly feel the Steve Anderson influence, as when you close your eyes if could almost be Kylie (who Steve's worked with for many years).
The song is a beautiful atmospheric floaty number, which makes you feel like you are wrapped in cotton.
The breathy Kylie-esque vocals are lush and the track just touches you deep in your soul.
Very sexy indeed!! Hauntingly beautiful!!!
I believe it was written originally for Britney, but she turned it down.
Her loss!!
Enjoy!!

That's the price of love??

Well it's been a while since I posted a BiR remix, so here one is.
As always with their work it has superb production and just oozes quality.
I've always been a huge New Order (and Joy Division) fan, but I've never really liked too much of their stuff on the dancefloor.
However, this is a cracking remix as you'd expect from BiR.
Barney's vocals are spot on and you can't beat that electric guitar riff.
"That's the price of love, can you feel it?"
Yes, indeedy!!
(P.S. Loving Gillian's big hair!!)

Go on then - another BiR classic

BiR do their stuff again turning a very average Janet Jackson track into a true club classic.
I've run out of superlatives for the BiR team.
It also seems that my fellow bloggers out there also recognise them as the Numero Uno remixers of clubland.

If you've not heard this track, then download and have a listen.
Absolute quality!!!

"I don't need this pressure on, I don't need this pressure on!!"

Join in the chant people.
It's been a while since I posted a BiR remix.
I've still plenty up my sleeve but have to admit that most their best stuff has already been posted on the blog.
Well they have had 50 posts to date, so it couldn't go on forever.
This is a typical top drawer BiR remix. Not quite as spellbinding as many of their remixes, but still very good indeed.
Are we all ready for the chant?
"I don't need this pressure on, I don't need this pressure on, "I don't need this pressure onnnnnnnnn, "
A top Spandau song from back in 1981, this remix was done in 1992.
Enjoy!!

Question - What do you get if you cross Sasha with BiR??

Answer - A bloody corking Pure Club Classic - that's what.
But hey, you knew that anyway.
This track was IMHO one of Sasha's best as an artist (except "Be As One"), couple it with a BiR remix and you get a truly fantastic piece of dance floor classic.
Excellent vocals from Sam Mollison, it's one that builds and then explodes in true BiR stylee.
Be patience with it, as the peak at the end of the track is quality.
Enjoy.
That's 3 BiR tracks on the trot, no more for a while I promise you.
I've also added the Main Club Mix which was also pretty good!!

Sasha - Higher Ground
(Main Club Mix)

Go on then have another BiR classic remix!!!

Probably not one of their strongest remixers, but again pretty damn good.
This one takes a while to build so be patience, but as soon as it kicks in, you'll know that famous riff.
Come on, BiR must be great if they can turn a Blur song into a club classic.
Now that's real talent.
Do you likey???
By the way if you own this on vinyl, keep hold of it as it is v.rare, there were only about 6 copies ever made.

It's official Brothers in Rhythm are the greatest remixers!!!

A big thanks to all who voted on the "Favourite Remixers" poll, we amassed  267 votes which ain't bad.
What a close run competition is turned out to be with Brothers in Rhythm just scraping home in gold medal position, beating Morales by just one vote, with Mr Knuckles close behind in 3rd place.
Big surprises to me were the lack of recognition for Jimmy Gomez and Chris and James, they are probably not as famous as some, but their remix work is up there with the very, very best.
There's plenty of their stuff on the blog, so if you don't know it, check out and you'll hear some of the best remixes ever.
In my mind there is no doubt that BiR are the best of all time, the magnitude and diversity of the artists that they have remixed and the style in which they have remixed them makes them untouchable!!!
Well it's been a while since I posted a BiR remix, but don't worry there are still plenty in my bag.
This one is very subtle, very soothing and just very nice. It's probably not as anthemic as some of their very best stuff, but it's still a very good remix. BiR remain the true benchmark of remix excellence!!

Some more wonderful house music!!!

Sticking on the house vibe people, get a load of this one.
It's another huge favourite of mine and is a simply divine piece of house music from 1991. A superb re-working of the old Phyliss Hyman track.
Superb vocals, a delightful little skippy house beat and some divine piano.
It sounds very much like a Diana Ross track, but house-ified!!
It's probably no surpise it's so good when you consider who is behind the track.
Steve Anderson producing and Dave Seaman and Phil Kelsey on the remix - the perfect recipe for wonderful dance music.
I just love this one, beautiful laid back house music at it's every best!!
Don't you agree??

Last one for tonight folks, what's it to be??

Well, I know you all like your gay anthems and they don't come much camper than this!!
This is the Pet Shop Boys at their campest and the first 5 minutes of the track is just a typcial PSB track, although very catchy and yes very camp.
Then at 5 minutes in the Brothers in Rhythm remix kicks in just like their usual quality production and turns it around into a full blown epic club monster with lots of dramatic strings and some superb production.
It really is very dramatic and very uplifting - just pure quality BiR.
I'm sure you'll love it!!!
Enjoy.

How about a bit of K.I.S.S.I.N.G.!!!!

It's been a while since I put some BiR on the blog and hence here we have another remix of the highest quality.
This one has a great vocal, the obligatory fantastic BiR production and some really nice subtle piano and then of course a "great hands in the air" moment.
For those BiR fans out there, there are still many more BiR remixes to come, but if anyone can help track down Pulp - Party Hard (Brothers in Rhythm Remix), then please give me a shout. This is the only BiR remix I've yet to track down and they must be out there somewhere. Keep your eyes peeled people!!
Meanwhile why not enjoy a bit of K.I.S.S.I.N.G.!!!!

Time for some long overdue Passion!!!

Now there are club classics and there are Pure Club Classics - and then there's this track, which is one of the most important tracks in clubland history and probably one of the most widely played.
When it came out in 1992 it was hammered by any and every DJ worth his salt. For about 12 months you heard it in every single club you went to and rightly so as it was just such an immense track.
With a fantastic atmospheric build up and then when that piano dropped in it was a pure truly magical moment. This was the track that always set the dancefloor alight, the one that everyone loved and one that no matter what time of night, what state of mind, it always just hit the right spot. A truly awesome track!!!
Why didn't it make my PCC All Time Top 30 - well only because it is so well known and has perhaps just lost that touch of mystique. But hey, that doesn't detract from it being one of the true PCCs of all time.
It was also probably the first track which created a "mash up" when it was overlayed with Degrees of Motion's "Do You Want It Right Now".
Since then it has become part of more "mash ups" then probably any other track in club history.
I've tried to include some of the best, however IMHO - you can't beat the original, closely followed by the Degrees of Passion "mash up". The passion of your paasion mix is also great with soem subtle vocals!
Get on it people, they don't come much better than this!!!!

Welcome to the Pleasuredome (The Saint)!!!

The Pleasuredome is actually reference to The Saint (pictured) - which was an amazing club in the US, which was regularly frequented by FGTH.
I have it on great authority that it was quite probably the best venue in clubbing history with an amazing sound system to match. It used to start at at about 12.00am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning and closed at 6.00pm on Sunday night. Now that is what I call a night out. A bit different to us UK clubbers being kicked out of clubs at 2.00pm-ish and then scrambling to the seedy after hours clubs to continue the mayhem.
About the track, as you'd expect a stunning BiR remix which takes you on a 14 minute journey. Epic indeed.
Allison, I couldn't let this post out without dedicating this one to you. Enjoy!!
Also a big shout out to "dateyboy" who also prompted me to post the track.
Enjoy the epic journey peeps!!

Let's finish with a bit of Sting in the tail!!!

Well it wouldn't be right not to have a BiR post tonight would it?
Well here you go with another fantastic BiR remix, as you'd expect it takes you on a full journey fully complementing Sting's excellent vocals.
To be totally honest I think BiR have done better but it is still a fantastic track.
Hey, there will come a time when I hav no more BiR remixes to post, but don't worry that time is a long way off yet.
I hope you enjoy this one peeps!!
