I bet you think this song is about you?

This has always been one of my favourite tracks as it is just so perfect on so many levels.

Fantastic vocals by the uber talented Carly, really great lyrics famously about Warren Beatty (and others), beautiful piano and guitar, then to top it all off Mick Jagger on backing vocals.

Ok, probably not the most clubby track, but for sure a Balearic classic.

Released in 1972 it's amazing to think this is now 53 years old.

Great remix by DJ Disco Cat as always.

On a more clubbier vibe, there is a very good reworking by Chimira courtesy of yet another fine remix by 7th Heaven from 2021.

This version retains a lot of the great aspects of the original, but adds that little bit of club fizz.

The piano breakdowns are especially good.

Get on it!

It's like I've known you all my life!

7th Heaven were the absolute masters at remixing tracks which were very commercial but just giving them that necessary quality to turn them into bonafide PCC's.

Yes, they are still borderline overground, but credible enough (just).

This one is a touch Eurovision, but I can't help like it and hence consider it worthy of a post.

I know you have a special something!

Hear that funky groove?

Now here's an old fave which I've not heard for years but still sounds amazing.

This is one of the great pleasures of continuing with the PCC blog and why after all these years I continue to post great tracks.

Great remix by 7th Heaven. The piano in this is just superb.

Used to love this back int'day and it really rocked the dancefloor.

It was a huge Tony De Vit track and one he is pretty reknown for playing and also remixing.

I never went to Trade/Turnmills, but by all accounts it was off the scale.

Hear that funky groove!

Feel the rush of summer over me!

Love this track, perfect for the start of summer.

The weather in old Blighty looks like it's finally picking up after weeks of rain in May.

This track from 2006 is gorgeous with some sumpticious vocals and a lovely Balearic feel.

Tinged with some lovely subtle piano, it is an excellent remix.

Feel the rush of summer over me!

Enjoy!

Give me a reason to love you!

I wasn't quite sure what to make of this when I first came across it, as the Portishead version is so iconic and such as classic.

However, as with pretty much everything they touch Heaven 7th have done a great job and kept true to the original whilst adding a bit of extra fizz and their customary dance/crossover vibe.

Maybe not one for the purists, but I can guarantee that this would rock dancefloors if dropped at the right time.

Enjoy folks, I'm sure you'll like it!

To give myself an education!

I've already posted a previous version of this, but much say that I rather like this remix which was released in 2007, very tasty.

This track contains the glorious vocals of the fabulous Sabrina Johnston.

All polished off with a superb remix from those 7th Heaven chappies and you have a dancefloor gem with a real feelgood factor vibe.

Enjoy!

A little bit glorious!

This is indeed a trifle glorious!
Beautiful ethereal vocals, a little bit like Novocento.
Very uplifting.
Enjoy!

Still in 7th Heaven? Turn Up The Love!!

Arguably the best remixers out there at the moment.
7th Heaven are producing some great tracks, transforming bland songs into club classics.
Love the plinky, plonky piano in this.
Slightly commercial (as is much of their remix work), but just falling on the right side for clubland.

This puts me in (7th) Heaven!!!

Absolutely storming track.
I'm a big fan of 7th Heaven remixes, many more from them to come in future posts.
This track is immense.
Superb vocals - as I'm mentioned many times before on the blog, I'm not usually a male vocal fan, but these are sublime.
Just a cracking, cracking tune with lovely production.
It almost has mainstream crossover appeal but is still very club orientated.
It's comforting to see that some great club music is still being produced amongst the large majority of the dirge nowadays.
Enjoy!!!
