Nobody knows what's going on in my mind...but me!

Love Saint Etienne and love Way Out West so logic says I should love this and glad to report I do.

In all honesty, it's probably not their best work for either of them, but it's still a pretty epic track and certainly hits the spot.

Very much in the WOW remix style which we know and love, with a little bit of Sarah's glorious vocal adding that extra je ne sais quoi!

Nobody knows what's going on in my mind...but me!

Welcome to the (mind) Circus!

There's plenty of WoW on the PCC blog and righly so as their material whether original production or remixes is always exquisite.

This one is no different.

A bot more thumping and pumping due to a superb remix by Gabriel & Dresden mix.

The vocal has shades of Saint Etienne and is very well delivered by Tricia Lee Kelshall.

All in all a cracking track

Enjoy!

Keep the Faith!

As a further tribute to Maxi, here's another well known Faithless track given a monster re-working.

Pretty much everything Above & Beyond touched was pure gold and this is no exception.

It retains the original vibe of the track, but just adds another dimension.

I also had to post the Danny Tenaglia remix which is equally awesome - 12 minutes of pure adrenaline.

Whilst the Way Out West Mix oozes their usual class and is also a cracker.

I'm not sure I could choose which is the best as they are all pretty different, but all very awesome at the same time.

That's the beauty of remixes!

Enjoy!

Back with a bang (again!)

First post in a long while, apologies I've just been real busy of late.

Anyway back with a real banger and surprised I've not posted this before now.

It's a real stomper of a track with a lush WoW remix.

A big track in 1995 it still sounds fabulous today.

Get on it!

Far from the darkest hour!

A truly stunning track. courtesy of yet another spellbinding WoW remix.

Hats off to Nick and Jody, those boys knew how to make music.

Fantastic vocals by Charlotte OC a superstar in the making.

Everything about this track just oozes class.

Lovely!

When you get that good life feeling, no one can take it away!

Amazing as it was when the original version of Good Life first burst on the scene in 1988, it has to be one of the most overplayed records and hence has lost some of it's original appeal.

However, this superb WOW remix from 1999 brings it back to (good) life!

Using the classic WOW laid back floaty trance vibe, it takes it to another level of brilliance, yet still retains the old charm of the original.

Just how remixes should be.

Enjoy!

Got to work it out!

One of the best and possibly most under-rated remix teams out there.

WoW produced some scintillating tracks and remixes.

This one is right up there and sticks with their tried and tested formula of a long progressive build up topped off with a crescendo of blissful piano (just how I like them).

Another corker of a track, respect to the Bristol possee!

Completely Bjangin'

The fairly unremarkable (in my opinion) 'Bjango' was produced by Fluke, and released on Hi Life in October 1996. Way Out West transform an otherwise ploddy production into a dancefloor destroyer by employing their trademark remix skills to optimum impact. This has to be up there with the best Way Out West reworks, and that really is saying something as almost all of their remix output between 1994 and 1998 (Saint Etienne, Hannah Jones, Bel Canto, Liquid, The Tabernacle ad nauseum) were immeasurably immense. The WOW mix of 'Bjango' has certainly stood the test of time, sounding as fresh and innovative today as it some fifteen years since.

Back with a bang - to shoot you down!!!!

Apologies for the lack of posts recently, things have been pretty hectic of late.
However, glad to report that I'm back with a bang!!
Here's a really old fave of mine and yet another PCC.
A big shout out to Andrew for reminding me of this one and supplying the link - Respect fella!.
About the track, well it's probably one of WoW's finest, with some beautiful spine tingling piano chords and breakdowns - simply sumptuous.
This one used to go down a storm in clubs back in 1994, it's not too dissimilar to the Miro - Pure Silk track which I've posted previously (which is a bit faster) - but both have lush piano breakdowns.
Enjoy - it's a classic!

Is it summertime yet? Oh well here's wishing!!!

Another piece of Way Out West quality remixing a beautiful track from legendary Ibiza DJ Jose Padilla.
An absolutely perfect track for those balmy summer nights.
It's not quite summer, but here's hoping for a good one.
This track is a little slice of heaven.
I just love the laid back feel, the whole atmosphere and vibe of the track - simply beautiful.
The little chuckles in there are brilliant as well. Awesome!!
Hey tracks don't have to be banging to be Pure Club Classics.
For all of those of you out there who like the Balearic vibe - get on this one - you won't be disappointed - believe me.
You can almost smell Cafe Del Mar when you listen to this!!
Love it!!

Get ready for a piece of musical genius!!!

I've already posted quite a few Way Out West remixes and tracks on the blog to date and there will be many more to come.
They produced some amazing work over the years and although some of their stuff wasn't always great, there were many slices of genius in amongst.
This is one of those true pieces of genius - the opening introduction of this track is pure heaven.
The atmosphere, the feeling, the vibe it creates, is amazing. It reminds me of those times when you were on the dancefloor and just swimming and floating like you were in heaven. Heady days indeed!!
The first 5 mins of this track are asbolutely sensational.
Are you feeling it!!

"And watch the Stars go out!!"

A fantastic track thanks to a brilliant Way Out West remix, they really did create some fantastic remixes.
This one is a floaty little number with nice subtle vocals, but it's that Way Out West technique of delivering something which is catchy and really uplifting at the same time, which makes it a great track. When that subtle piano quicks in, it just hits the spot. Superb!!

A PCC which even BiR couldn't improve!!!

Now the original Way Out West version of this track has always been a true club classic and it was rightly hammered by most of the top DJ's back in 1994.
I've always been a big fan of Nick Warren/Way Out West stuff, both their original productions and also their remix work.
This is probably one of their best tracks and it was a great club track.
So good in fact that even a Brothers In Rhythm remix which followed in 1997 is pretty poor in comparison. The BiR remix is ok, but certainly not their strongest work and in my opinion certainly doesn't improve on the original version which is a true PCC.
Anyway I've upped them both, so you can draw your own opinions.
Enjoy!!

An old classic given a face lift and Botox!!

This is a perfect example of why the art of remixing is so powerful.
You take a track that was once a classic back in the day, but got massively overplayed and hence lost it's appeal, so you give it a complete face lift, to bring it back to life.
Way Out West turn in a monster remix, retaining the key aspect of the old classic, but also creating something really new and in my opinion totally rockin'.
A really good remix, with some great piano and of course the classic "Sweet Harmony" piano chords.
A fine job, done well. Hats off to Nick Warren.

Let Yourself Go!!

This is a huge track and one that amazing in clubs, you thought it was just bumbling along and then wham in come's that amazing piano, ensue "hands in the air" delirium.
This was one of those tracks which was truly devastating on the dancefloor back in '94!
A classic from Nick Warren's alter ego - Way Out West!
Let Yourself Go indeed (we certainly used to)!!!
Say no more!
