Dear Fellow Dance Music Lovers,
This blog brings you the best in Dance Music and Club Classics; from early 87 (back in the daze) through to the present day.
For all those who rocked it all night until the early hours, to those that lived for clubbing and couldn't wait for the weekend to arrive. Enjoy and leave any comments on the blog or contact direct by email at pureclubclassics@live.co.uk
Steve Anderson needs no introduction to the PCC blog as he has probably had more tracks posted than any other remixer/producer which is just pure testament to his true genius.
Here he is with another fabulous remix of a pretty ordinary track, until Steve spreads his gold dust on it.
Lots of sumptuous piano as may of his remixes gives it some real life and vibrance.
Steve Anderson is without a shadow of a doubt one of the very best remixers, music producers of all time.
The quality and breadth of his work over several decades is phenonamal.
His work with Dave Seaman will for me always be his true high point, but his work with Kylie and all his solo remix work is always of such fantastic quality.
Love this track and great funky house track made so much better by Mr Anderson's amazing production work.
Love her or hate her (and I think most people love her), you can't knock Kylie's longevity and her consistent re-creation icon status.
Much of her success has been through association with amazing producers like Steve Anderson (aka the other half of Brothers in Rhythm with Dave Seaman).
Anything Steve produces totally encapsulates me, the guy is a complete supremo.
Is this too commercial to be a PCC?
Probably not one for your purist house clubs, but definitely one that would have been great in many of the edgy/glam clubs.
I think it's a glorious example of a great commercial dance track.
Another fantastic track from the supremely talented Adeva.
I decided to post 3 different versions of this as they are all fantastic and in Frankie, Morales and Steve Anderson you have 3 of the greatest remixers of our generation.
The Classic Club mix is just pure piano delight which just brings to life Adeva's amazing vocals.
The Def Club Mix is typical Def Mix, housey, groovy, fantastic.
Then the Steve Anderson remix is just typical of his glorious piano infused remixes.
Well it's certainly not summer, but here is one of the great summer tracks to brighten up your cold, dreary November day here in good old Blighty.
From 1989 this track is just delightful, containing some fantastic piano and lush Spanish vocals, even the Black Eyed Peaz versions from 2008 were pretty good and respected the original.
The Steve Anderson remix is simply amazing as well and adds even a touch more piano to lift it to an even higher level of lushness! Fantastic production as always from the legend that is Steve A.
A true Balearic summer classic which will always sound amazing.
I've held off posting these tracks for a long time, but I can wait no more.
Two of clublands most prominent and influential tracks ever made.
If I had to choose I'd say Frankie's - Your Love, just pips "You've Got The Love", largely down to the fantastic vocal performance from Jamie Principle - which is just wonderful.
I've included a few of mixes of each track as there are so many great remixes to choose from, but these are my preferred ones.
All versions are just sublime and will always be true PCC's.

I know I post a touch of cheese now an again and usually (justifiably) get a bit of stick for it.
Well there could be some more for this one.
However, I'll defend it as this is a cracking remix.
Very reminiscent of his Xanadu remix, this is tops!!
Steve Anderson is a musical genius - pure and simple and will always be one of my all time fave remixers.
Top man, top track.
Enjoy!! (or not??)
Tonight feels like a nostalgia night and a celebration of my favourite remixes who are still at it, producing amazing tracks.
This one has big Brothers In Rhythm connections, as I believe that Steve Anderson was involved in the making of it and Dave Seaman was involved in widely promoting it and playing it in his sets in 2008.
You can certainly feel the Steve Anderson influence, as when you close your eyes if could almost be Kylie (who Steve's worked with for many years).
The song is a beautiful atmospheric floaty number, which makes you feel like you are wrapped in cotton.
The breathy Kylie-esque vocals are lush and the track just touches you deep in your soul.
Very sexy indeed!! Hauntingly beautiful!!!
I believe it was written originally for Britney, but she turned it down.
You only need to take one look at the cover above to see that this track was originally an 80's pop tune from the USA. 1989 to be precise. Nice outfits or what?
But the remix by DMC (Dakeyne And Steve Anderson) really brings it to life - in fact it's hardly recognisable.
to see just how different the original chart version is before listening to what a great job the remixer did turning this into one of my favourite Club Classics.
Great bassline. Sweet piano and a nice vocal, although like lots of 80's tunes the lyrics are a bit idealistic. But hey, what's wrong with wanting a better world for everyone, I suppose?
The 'keep, keep, keep, keep bustin' hook is fantastic and meant that you always knew when this track was about to be dropped in a club.
The vocal below is heavenly.
Echoes thunder almost every night!
If you listen to the track you'll notice that it's pretty slow - only about 120bpm I think. In my opinion it sounds better speeded up a bit. Maybe to 130bpm
It's been a while since we had a bit of Balearic on the PCC blog and since it is very much one of my favourite music genres, it's well over due.
Grab this for a little slice of Balearic heaven.
You'll know the song very well, but are probably less familiar of this version.
Huge on the nations finer dancefloors back in 1989 - this version is courtesy of another great remix from the legend that is Mr Steve Anderson.
A really quality re-working, however don't play it if the kids are about as they might ask what those strange noises are!! Lol!! You have been warned!!
Enjoy the Balearic mayhem!!
I've been searching for this one for ages. Having liked the original track when only a youngster.
I then had the pleasure of this being dropped in a club mid set and it was awesome.
Hence, I was keen to get hold of this remix, which sees Steve Anderson retain all the original aspects, but add a little of the BiR magic, just to give it that polished club style.
Huge respect to Grim Reaper for provding this and many more classics which will come over the next few months.
I think that I can speak for all bloggers when I say that the reason we put so much of our free time into keeping these blogs going is for the love of the music, the great contacts we make and support we build up.
Let's continue building this dance music appreciation society!! Respect to you all!!
By the way, a picture of Yasmin is much preferable to one of Duran Duran and is association enough, me thinks!!
For those who follow this blog, my love of Brothers in Rhythm remixes has been widely noted.
And yes you got it, here's another one.
This time just Steve Anderson (and not Dave S), but as usual it is the same extremely high BiR quality.
Some may think of the track as cheesy and possibly a bit like something "Steps" might make.
However, play it a couple of times and you will love it.
This is what I'd classify as "Pure Balearic Brilliance", the sort of track that could be dropped mid-set and the crowd would simply go wild.
It would have been brilliant at clubs like Vague or Paradise Factory, clubs where there was no ego, pretence and anything went, where anything was dropped as long as it was rockin'.
Balearic Brilliance or Pure Cheese??
You know my thoughts!!
