Never gonna fall for....

Bowie was without doubt one of the most influential pop artists of his generation and thoroughly deserved his legend status R.I.P.

Not many of his tracks were that dancefloor friendly though.

How Sgt Slick has a great knack of converting great pop songs into great club tracks with some gentle tweaking of the knobs, whilst always respecting the original track.

Here is just brings the piano, sax and percussion to the fore with great effect.

Bowie reborn for the dancefloor.

Nice.

R.I.P. to a true pop Legend!

David Bowie never really touched the dancefloor too much but he was a true inspiration for many people a bona fide icon, legend and innovator.
His only real flirtations with the club dancefloors as we know it was this track (and the Placebo B.I.R. remix) and like anything B.I.R. touched it was pure gold dust.
I remember first hearing this on Pete Tong Essential Selection show on Friday night back in 1993 when it was "tune of the week".
That was back in the day when we used to tape off the radio (remember that? You probably won't unless you are over 40).
I they repeatedly played the track to death, until I was able to get it on vinyl and I still have that 12" stored away somewhere in the garage.
The track was just awesome, as with all B.I.R remixes it built and built and then exploded.
I've posted this track previously on the PCC blog back in February 2009 (wow, how time flies).
R.I.P. Mr Bowie - legend is a vastly over used word, but you were certainly one.

Without BiR Remixes where would we be??

Seems like a while since I posted some BiR remixes (although there's been a few Steve Anderson ones).
BiR have remixed 3 different Placebo songs, all of which have a pretty unique vibe.
My favourite is "Without you I'm nothing" which is an absolutely blinding remix, very much trancier than usual BiR stuff, verging on an Oakenfold type trance vibe. Yeah, that's right awesome. The track just builds and builds "tick tock" indeed!!!
Turn it up loud!!!
I'll post the others in due course, in fact I think I now have every BiR remix, with the exception of those on "my most wanted list". If you can help with those, it'd be much appreciated.
Enjoy the music!!

BiR even make David Bowie cool again

The BiR team can even make an old rock god like David Bowie come to life.
This one came out of nowhere, but rocked the dancefloors in the late 90s.

This blog is in danger of becoming a BiR shrine.
No more BiR for a while, I promise. Although....
