This will help make you feel a little loved.
It's one of those fabulous tracks which makes you feel cocooned with warm and emotion.
Not a little unlike those feelings we used to get at post club after parties when we were just chilling, but still feeling all blissed out. Lol.
It's just a fabulously soothing beautiful piece of trance music, not banging trance, but trance with feeling, emotion, warmth, beauty and feeling.
Yeah, you're right the type that they dont produce nowadays.
It has some really lovely vocals by Delline Bass (pictured) and Adam K and Soha are just masters at producing this type of beautiful soothing trance.

Seb Fontaine is behind the Reflekt tracks and is a DJ I've heard many times in clubs back int'day.

Oh the joy of dance music, sampling and sharing!!

One of the great joys of dance music is all the sampling and sharing/pinching of snippets from earlier classics, then re-using them and creating new tracks which in turn become club classics.
Many, many PCC tracks (I won't say all, but it's not far off) are culminations of samples and snippets from earlier classics, whether it's using vocals, riffs or catchy melodies.
The number of tracks that contain vocals sampled from classic diva vocalists like Loleatta Holloway, Aretha Franklin, Rochelle Fleming, Martha Wash etc. etc is astounding, there are literally thousands.
Here's a great example of several club classics which have all pulled and pinched from two classic tracks and created some great tracks in the process.
This will be a long post, so stay with me.
To start it off here is an acapella of "Aretha Franklin - Rock-A-Lott".
This was produced in 1986 and it is simply amazing.
Just listen to the power of her voice, her vocals are absolutely sensational.
Right can you hear where the key bit of "DJ H featuring Stefi - Think About" came from?
The "rock" and "oh yeah" bits.
It also draws inspiration from another Aretha Franklin track called "Think", which is where the "Think About"      title comes from.
The "DJ H featuring Stefi - I Think About" track was absolutely massive in clubs and was hammered by every DJ going at the time. It was a biggie hammered by Sasha and I remember great nights in Leeds Warehouse in 1991 when it just used to absolutely lift the roof off. It was one of those tracks that everyone just used to go totally radio rental to. Looking back I bet we all looked crackers, but it was just one of those tracks which caused dancefloor mayhem. Happy Days!!
Moving on....
Ok next up, listen to the "Aretha Franklin - Rock-A-Lott" acapella again and you'll hear another few tracks which used those vocals.
First up, is the "49er's - Touch Me" which was a big track back in 1989. It sounds a little cheesy now, but it was a great track at the time.
That track took not only samples from the Aretha track, but also took lyrics from the Alisha Warren house classic "Touch Me" which came out in 1989. Which is a great house track.
I particularly love the vocals and lyrics in this track and of course, it also then produced the foundations for one of my favorite PCCs.

Well to anyone who was clubbing in the heady days of 1991 they certainly will.
The "Joy and Joyce - Babe Babe" track was absolutely huge and one those tracks which had everyone in a total state of ecstatic delirium with the impromptu "hands in the air".
Everywhere was full of smiley faces and and head nodding as we sang along to the lyrics and then launched into the chorus.
"Baby, baby, why can't we just stay together".
This bonafide PCC was then copied by Corona in 1995 and although it was very cheesy and very commercial, there were a couple of good mixes and hence I've included the Dancing Divaz mix and also the "Robyx Piano remix". Both mixes have some cracking piano.
Right I think that now concludes the connections, but there are probably some others which I'm unaware of, (if so give me a shout).
However, within this little lot there are 4 bonafide PCCs in the 49er's, Alisha Warren, Joy and Joyce and DJ H featuring Stefy tracks.

A total killer track!!

I've always been a big Killers fan and they are one of the few groups who've come out of the US who I actually like.
However, they've never been particularly club friendly.
This though is a great remix which not only keeps all the power and quality of the original track, but gives it a lovely atmospheric dance feel.
It's one of those tracks which I just play over and over again and it always feels great.
Totally love the guitar that comes in near the end as well. Superb!!

Time for a bit of legendary house music.
There are some tracks which are so obvious that I've often overlooked posting and this is one of them.
It is widely recognised as one of the most famous house records and I bet that there isnt anyone who was around in the late 80's who hasn't heard this.
It is of course the work of the genius that is Todd Terry.
I know I've mentioned it before on the blog, that the music he produced always has really crisp crunchy beats that are so infectious.
The whole track is just immense from the sirens at beginning to the jammin groove and all the vocal snippets

Anybody used to sing along "f**k off, f**k off" on another of the vocal bits or was that just me?Lol.
All in all  - one of the great house tracks of all time.
It still sounds amazing even though it's 25 years old.

Well I certainly love this track.
Here's two superb but very different remixes of this track.
The Chameleon mix (aka D.O.P.) is a brilliant atmospheric old skool trancer which just oozes class.
It's a very addictive track and is one I just love playing over and over again.
It seems to get better every time you play it.
The Night Fever Mix version is very energetic, much more vocal and also more overground, but still very good.
I haven't got the D.O.P. Spookie Billie Ray Mix, if someone would be as kind to send me a link to that, it'd be very much appreciated.

Nah, nowhere near.
Here's a top track from 1996 which I used to love.
It came out on the Positiva label which put out many, many top tracks.
It's an energetic funky house builder.
It' was massive on dancefloors in that it started slowly then built up really fast with drum rolls kicking in, then slows again and speeds up again.
Totally "outrageous".
Top track, which every time I play it, it always brings back some great memories.
Get on it!!

I'm a huge fan of the Trouser Enthusiasts, who have done some amazing remixes.
This has to be one of their best.
There is only one way to describe this track - Epic!!
It's just one monstrous tune from start to finish.
It's such a pounding, driving energetic track.
It's one I've never had the pleasure of hearing in a club, but I can imagine it absolutely lifting the roof off on the dancefloor.
Massive.
There's not much PSBs in it, but that's doesn't detract from it.
The piano riffs are simply lush and just further enhance it's epic feel and greatness.
A top, top track.

An absolutely stomping MJ track courtesy of a fantastic remix by Mr Morales.
This used to be a big Ally Whitehead track and its one that explodes instantly.
As soon as you hear that piano riff from the first second of the track it smashes away and provides a storming 3 and a half minutes.
The remainder of the track never quite lives up to the incredible first part (I guess you'd start to mix the next track it at that stage).
However, it is sill a brilliant track.
Two genii together MJ and David Morales = top, top track.
This time around indeed!!

This one dates back to 1991 and is an example of top notch house music.

Here's a cracking piano laden track from 1992.
Very pleasant hushed vocals whispered in a very seductive manner.
The track bubbles along nicely and includes some lovely piano breakdowns.
I remember this track being a big fave of DJ Vertigo who was one of the top DJs of the era.
He was one of the few DJs who kept that piano tunes spirit alive, well past 1992 when all the other DJs had gone, housey, trancey or worst of all hardcore. Vertigo kept it right there delivering quality piano tunes like this. You could also include Paul Taylor in that bracket as well.

Nah, it's not a plea to get more PCC followers just using the title of a great track.

This is a truly stunning piece of melodic trance.
Here are two excellent but very different mixes.
I think I prefer the "Lange Club Mix" version, although as with many of their remixes the Agnelli & Nelson version is also pretty epic.
The vocals in the Lange Club Mix version by Cecily Fay are just stunning, she has a truly beautiful voice and the track is worth listening just for her ethereal vocals.
The lyrics are great too and perfect to sing along too.

Another thing about this track is that you may recognise it from the Kevin & Perry film which was a classic and nearly all of the music that they used in the film were bonafide club classics (most of which are posted on the PCC blog) which made it even better.

Nice vocals, some good lyrics, some excellent piano and a nice sing-along-chorus.
What more can you ask for??
This one used to get hammered by Alistair Whitehead who was one of my fave DJs back int' day.
He always had a fantastic knack of playing exactly the tracks that you wanted to hear, that being those which were housey, piano-y, but never cheesy.
We had many fantastic nights at places like Love To Be and Golden grooving along to Mr Whitehead's fantastic track selection.

This certainly used to put the night in motion!!

Well I know this one sounds dreadfully cheesy now and it became even cheesier when it got into the Top 40 way back in 1991, but at the time this was an immense track in clubs.
I distinctly remember nights at Leeds Warehouse back in 1991 and when this was dropped the place used to go absolutely "radio rental"!!
It was a big Sasha track at the time and it also used to get dropped with "Let Know Man Put Asunder" acapella mixed in.
It sounds a bit naff then, but when that riff kicked in in clubs at the time it was a pretty amazing experience to watch everything absolutely rockin' to it.
A good one to reminisce to even if it doesn't sound as good now as it did back then.
You can't beat a bit of nostalgia!!

I never thought I'd be posting a Tom Jones track on the PCC blog, but this is actually a fantastic track and a superb remix by T-Empo produced back in 1994.

I've had this one lined up to post for ages and it's just finding the right time.

Well that time is now, so get ready for a huge piano laden track which takes you on a great journey.

It really uses Tom's vocals superbly to raise the tempo of the track underpinned with some great piano, it then continues to build, slows back down and  keeps coming back at you.

I love the bit on 5mins 5 secs, when it sounds like "Jimi Polo's - Better Days" is going to kick in.

I bet it'd be great to use that track to mix in at that point.

All in all a top notch track.

Don't be put off - listen without prejudice and draw your own opinion.

To me it's a top notch track.

Ready for the biggest Night of the Year??

New Years Eve was always my favourite night of the clubbing year.
It always had that much more excitement and expectation than a normal night, but that was before everything went crazy with ridiculous price hikes and sheer exploitation, which became the norm in late 90's.
It always used to fascinate me in terms of what would the DJ drop at 12 o' clock.
What track captures that perfect moment that creates the fantastic atmosphere to build the rest of the night on.
Over the years on the PCC blog I've posted many tracks and comments from my fantastic NYE experiences of tracks which were dropped at midnight. The best was most definitely "Digitalis - Accepting and Giving" - how perfect it is to have your all time favourite track dropped at the perfect moment. Heaven!!
I also remember Sasha dropping "Vangelis - Chung Kuo" mixed into "Orbital - Belfast" which was fantastic.
Here's another fantastic Vangelis track which I feel would be perfect for dropping at midnight.
(I've been wanting to post this track for ages, but have been waiting for the right moment).
Dropped at midnight it would slow everything down and then build up all the atmosphere and excitement again.
The track is sheer musical perfection, Vangelis certainly produced some amazing tracks, this one dates back to 1981.
It starts off very slowly, but just builds and builds until it literally explodes.
The part at 4 mins 11 seconds never falls to take me into another place, it is most definitely one of the most uplifting pieces of music I've ever come across.
Any DJ's out there brave enough to drop this at midnight tonight? Go on -I dare you!!
Cue it at 11.55pm and it will explode right on Midnight.
I'm always keen to hear of other great tracks which people have heard DJ's drop at midnight on NYE, so let me have your comments and memories.

Vangelis - Alpha

I can't believe that it's taken me 3 years of running this blog and posting tracks before I've got round to posting this one.
This was always a huge favourite of mine and was massive in Clubland in 1993 and rocked all the nations dancefloors for months on end.
It was always a massive track at Back To Basics in Leeds.
Lionrock is of course the guise of Justin Robertson - one of the great DJs from the early days of clubbing and still going strong today I believe. His remixes around that time in 92'/93' were the real sound of that era when he seemed to be churning out "Prankster remixes" at a phenomenal rate. All were exciting and had that unique and distinctive style.
This track is a true PCC with some great vocals from MC Buzz B and a really great underlying piano riff that accompanies that great Roland 303 acid squelch and then topped off with the big horns.
All in all a top, top track, that still sounds amazing today.

Happy Christmas to one and all!!

A big shout out to you all out there wishing you a truly memorable Christmas.
Now dance music has never really produced Christmas songs, so finding a Christmas theme to post isn't always easy.
However, here is a corking remix of one of my favourite Christmas tracks.
This was remixed in 2000 and is a top notch remix, much respect to Rob Searle.
It retains the power and emotion of the original track, but gives it that dancefloor friendly vibe.
I often talk about tracks on the PCC blog which take you on a journey, this is very much one of those tracks.
It builds nicely until that fantastic vocal breakdown and then it takes you on a fantastic ride through to the finish, which some great drum rolls and a pounding driving rhythm.
This'll be the 4th Christmas of the PCC blog which will also be 4 years old in February - we're keeping it going to feed you these great tracks, so keep leaving your comments and feedback.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - The Power Of Love

Musical perfection!!!

I've had this lined up to post for ages, as I simply adore this track.
I've mentioned several times on the PCC blog, my huge admiration for Ms. Bedingfield.
She is quite possibly my favourite female vocalist and always produces fantastic songs with deep and meaningful lyrics.
It's the texture and feel of her vocals that just touch me deep down.
Her music is always superb, but when remixed it reaches elevated heights.
This remix by Adam K and Soha is just stunning (in fact most of their remixes are top notch).
The track combines the beautiful vocals of Natasha with a dreamy trance vibe and the lyrics as per usual and clever and meaningful.
The only negative on this track is that it's too bloody short, coming in at just over 3 and a half minutes, it feels like it needs to be at least 8 minutes long.
What I always find myself doing is just playing it over and over again.
Musical perfection?? Not far off in my book!!
It touches the parts other tracks cannot reach!!

Come on "Let's Fly Away"!!

This was on my "most wanted tracks" list for a long time. Why, why else? Because it is a top track.
For the real purists amongst you, it could be a tad on the cheesy side, but as we've always said on the PCC blog, a piece of cheese now and again is an essential part of a healthy well balanced dance music diet.
The tracks from 1996 and features the beautiful vocals of Kelly Llorenna and comes with a top notch remix by Biff 'n' Memphis. Those guys had the nack of just keeping their remix work the right side of cheesy.
It's a long track as well, well over 10 minutes, but like all good tracks it keeps you pretty much engrossed from start to finish.

Alright people, apologies for the lack of recent posts, as per usual things have been pretty hectic, what with work commitments, family commitments etc. etc.
I'm hoping I'll be able to get lots of posts up though over the Christmas period, so stay tuned.
Here's a rarity - a really good track from recent years.
This is as recent as 2009,.
It was first brought to my attention by my old mate Velvetpants (I've not heard from you for a while fella, I hope all is well).
As with many tracks there are loads of mixes of this and most pretty naff, but this one is IMHO absolutely tops.
Aptly named the "Luv Piano Mix", it's full of great bouncy piano (just how we like it on the PCC blog) and its got some really great vocals, in a "less is more" type of way. The girl who sings (Shingai Shoniwa) really has a got a lovely voice, very soothing and luscious.
All in all a top notch track.

There's not many track that come in at over 14 mins long and keep you fully engrossed from start to finish.

This is one such epic journey.

A track hammered by Oakey back in 1997 and created by the mercurial Malcolm McClaren (R.I.P.), the track is simply an immense collection of trance sounds, taking you on a thumping roller-coaster journey.

It's just so better produced and authentic sounding then a lot of today's over formulated trance music.

This has a really ethereal feel to it, beautiful flow and some pounding trance driven beats.

All in all a top notch piece of dance music.

Now this is a rarity - a track that's been posted 3 times on the PCC blog.

All for great reasons, as each time it has been a different mix and all are superb versions and hence more than worthy of the triplicate posting.

Already on the blog are the Jimmy Gomez remix which is (like all his work) absolutely outstanding. 

Rich posted the Farley and Heller - Junior Boys Own Mix which was probably the most widely played mix in clubs and a top remix.

Here's another alternative version and one I also love, it takes you on a dream like journey encompassing lots of tempo changes and peaks, with a little bit of delightfully subtle piano thrown in for good measure. It's a really great re-working of total PCC.

It's one of those tracks that you just want to keep playing again and again over and over!

If a track gets 3 posts on the PCC blog, then you know it's good, which gives testament to Sunscreem by creating beautiful and "Perfect Motion".

Rising and Rising!!

Now again a track comes along which you haven't heard for ages and completely knocks your socks off all over again.

I'd simply forgot how good this track was.

It's very unusual and very progressive, but absolutely top drawer.

It's from 1993 and was a track which Sasha used to hammer and rightly so.

It has a very powerful relentless rhythm to it and just a very intense atmosphere, of course like all PCCs it peaks effectively , although just be patient with this one, but when the piano kicks in at 3mins 43secs it absolutely blows the roof off.

A true hidden gem this one.

C.A.P. - Rising

Keep on, keep on Running - to the land of make believe!!

Alright people, well I've pleased to inform you all that I completed my marathon experience on Sunday, running all 26.2 miles non-stop.
It was an accumulation of 5 months hard training, but oh so worth it.
It was a fantastic feeling finally reaching the "land of make believe" aka the finishing line.
I wasn't quite like the picture above, but all the same not far off.
It poured it down from start to finish which wasn't ideal conditions, but I'm proud to inform that I completed it in under 3 hours 30 mins which was my target.
Collectively through my various runs I managed to raise over £1000 for my chosen charity "Get Kids Going", so a big thank you to all of you who sponsored me.
Those who haven't  yet, I'd be very grateful of further donations to the fantastic charity that supports helping young disabled people partake in and enjoy sporting activities.

Ok, back to the music. No I haven't gone soft on you, this really is a PCC.
Hard to believe I know, but just have a listen it is a very special track and a cracking remix by the Disco Brothers dating back to 1991.
It's also got lots of running connotations which is very apt.
"Run for the sun little one"
And that repeating catchy line "Keep on, keep on running", which I was constantly focused on when running the marathon on Sunday.
All this coupled with some banging piano and a few "unbelievable" samples make for a really top tune.

Hello to all, here's a very self indulgent post and just a little reminder to myself.
Tomorrow I'm running my first marathon (all 26.2 miles of it) and "no stoppin" will certainly be the focus of the day.
I've trained hard for 5 months and so feel prepared, yet nervous and excited at the same time.
Ok, enough of that, now back to the music.
Well it's another cracking piano tune from 1992 and was actually the b-side to "Orcana" which is another PCC already posted some time ago.
It'll certainly be in my mind - that there's no stoppin' tomorrow.

I'm pretty amazed that this one hasn't already been posted.

It is another of those house classics and this one is very well known.
I used to think that one day I'd run out of tracks to post on the blog, but I don't think that will ever happen as there are so many fantastic tracks still to post.
I have a list of over 1,000 tracks still lined up to post and I keep adding to the list.
About this one, well as soon as you hear the opening bars you'll know instantly it.
It contains the famous lyrics from the classic Fingers Inc track
"In the beginning there was Jack and Jack had a groove"
It's then got that all too familiar piano riff, which just runs and runs.
It's 22 years old and still sounds fantastically fresh!!

It's been a while since I posted a bit of classic house a la Frankie Knuckles style.
This track is simply lush - beautiful, beautiful laid back classical house music from 1989.
Adeva has such a powerful voice and this is complimented by the lush piano vibes.
This is a really great version of a great track, with Eric Kupper on keyboards and of course Frankie Knuckles responsible for the remix.
Very tranquil, yet so uplifting.
Is there anybody who was contributed more to house music than Frankie Knuckles? - I think not.
The legend lives on!!

Now for something totally different!!

I've always been a huge fan of Balearic tracks and  some of my best clubbing memories remembering when a Balearic track was dropped - mid-set or last track of the night.
That change in tempo when everyone one just came together all loved up and singing along to a chorus' or just simply swaying from side to side, grooving to the slow beat floating in a little bubble.
Well here's a fantastic Balearic track. I never actually heard it in a club, but it I imagine it would be sensational.
It stirs the same kind of emotions as Edie Brickell's - Circle - which s one of my all time favourite tracks.

I couldn't resist it. Ok back to the old skool again!!
Here's another old classic from 1989 and one that isn't as well known or popular as it should be.
It is a magnificent track from start to finish and is so instant in it's appeal.
I just love everything about this track.
The piano is sublime, the crunchy beats, the tempo, the feel, it just such a top track.
As mentioned it's certainly one of those classic old tracks which has gone somewhat forgotten about, but hey, that's the purpose of this blog, to bring you all those PCCs that you may have forgotten about or maybe never even heard.
Keen to have your feedback on this one.
IMHO it is right up there as one of the all time classics.

Alright all, I hope you are all doing well.
I've posted quite a lot of old skool tracks recently and it's been a while since I posted some Oakey trance.
Here's one of the big tracks that he used to bang out circa 1998.
It's a quality piece of pumping trance which was typical of the tracks he was playing back then.
This track has such a great feel to it and it used to absolutely rock on the dancefloor.

Here's a rarity, me providing a mid-week post.

There was once a time when I'd post tracks almost every night, but work and family commitments have put paid to that for the last couple of years.
Here's coming at you - with a huge, huge fave of mine.
I used to have a DJ Vertigo tape called Gold Rush - which was an absolutely mix tape and this was one of the key tracks. Boy that tape got some play back int'day.
The track is a total PCC - fantastic atmposhere, superb piano, great vocals and a belting chorus - just the way we love 'em.
So Strong - indeed.

Alright people, here's back with another old skool classic.
I used to love this - it was a real feel good track and one that was really emotionally powerful when you were blissed out in a club.
There was no better feeling than hearing this and looking round and seeing everyone with their hands in the air singing along feel the same vibe.
The track really captured the essence of the vibe that was so strong in 1991, it expressed such a strong feeling of unity.
Those are the times we lived, we loved and we will never forget.
The track has a fantastic vibe, some superb lyrics, some great piano - all in all a total PCC.

Balearic bliss from Gerald!!

Here's a a track that will take you back, way back!!
An absolute classic piece of Balearic bliss from A Guy Called Gerald.
This track is completely timeless and still sounds as good today as it did back in 1989.
It has a beautiful vibe that is so endearing and always puts me in a "bubble of bliss".
On this blog when we talk about dance music nowadays and how it doesn't compare to the music which was made back in the late 80's and 90's - this is exactly what we are referring too.
The vibe and emotions that tracks like this provide as just streets ahead.
I hope this touches you the way if does me.

Everything Is Right

On my thirteenth birthday I received cassette album entitled 'Everything Is Wrong' by Moby. Upon receipt of this gift it was played unendingly, until the inevitable occurred and the tape ended up getting chewed up and had to be discarded. That incident doesn't detract from Moby's opus being utterly spectacular in every respect. Although some of the tracks on it were a bit questionable, the presence of euphoric classics such as 'Feeling So Real' and 'Everytime You Touch Me' more than atones. 'Into the Blue' proved another highlight; an atmospheric ambient number in its original form featuring the plaintive warblings of Mimi Goese. The Beatmasters were commissioned to provide the single version, which they do with some aplomb, enhancing the chilled out nature of the original. Moby's own 'Simple' mix, also featured here, pares down the vocal and transforms the track into a piano monster of the highest calibre. Great album, great artist, great vocals, great remixes, great track.

Purr-fect

This guitar-based stormer did some severe damage back in the summer of '96. Emanating from the Steppin' Out stable north of the border, Technocat had previously hit big with their eponymous track 'Technocat', some versions of which featured a rather unusual spoken-word vocal with the refrain 'We are human' relentlessly repeated in rather an hypnotic way. 'It's Gonna Be Alright' proved equally as massive, although some misguided soul thought it pertinent to add a very silly vocal to the original instrumental. This is one of my all time favourite tracks, it evokes some fantastic memories and is once more evidence, if it were needed, of the fact that they don't make them like this any more.

Into the Mystic

Here's a third unutterable classic to round off this morning's posts. 'Mystic Motion' was released on the then fledgling Distinct'Ive label in 1996. Comprising a collaboration between Italo-house outfit Datura, and the legendary Billie Ray Martin, 'Mystic Motion' is elevated to another level entirely by dint of an astounding remix from Hybrid. A pumping epic of the first variety, Hybrid's remix dissolves into a breakbeat frenzy whilst at once foregrounding the unmistakable vocals of BRM. 'Mystic Motion' certainly raised the profile of the then little-known Welsh breaks outfit, and, all things considered, this track remains one of the best, early Distinct'Ive releases.

Bullitt In the Gun

Referencing Blue Amazon in the Jayn Hanna post caused me to ruminate that perhaps they've been a touch overlooked on the blog in the past. Their contribution to the epic house canon, with 'No Other Love' and 'Star of David', simply cannot be denied. So, after some deliberation, here is one of the finest remixes they ever put out. 'Cried to Dream' surfaced in '96 on the :VC: imprint, a label that was on top form back then. The track was most noted for Blue Amazon's hugely epic remix which served to further raise the act's profile. Some four years later 'Cried to Dream' surfaced again, this time in a limited quantity. Max Graham's remix, as lifted from Oakey's 'Travelling' compilation, tastefully updates the track for twenty-first century pallets, excising a lot of the vocals whilst retaining the epic feel of the BA mix.

Summer Vibes

Given it's such a beautiful morning I thought it would be apt to post a summery number, despite the fact that this is inevitably the last decent weekend of the year, weather-wise. Vocalist Jayn Hanna is perhaps best remember for the proggy '96 classic 'Lovelight', but 'River of Tears' slipped by almost unnoticed on promo only in mid-1999. Produced by Evolution, the original mixes are a bit too meandering for my tastes, but hidden away on the flip-side was this gorgeous house re-invention from Grant Nelson. This track has a real summer vibe to it. Also featured here is the follow up to 'Lovelight', in the shape of the equally classic 'Lost Without You', a track that surfaced at the beginning of 1997 and remains one of Evolution's best productions, in my opinion.

An all time Old Skool classic!!

Talk about a PCC.
I can't believe that I haven't posted this track already. Having run the blog for over 3 and a half years, it seems unthinkable.
Anybody who has every heard this track in a club will confirm that it is one of the most uplifting pumping tracks you could ever wish to here.
It is right up there with your SLD - Getting Out, Asha - JJ Tribute, 2 Funky 2 - Brothers and Sisters, the huge piano anthems from 1991 - which were IMHO probably the era with the most uplifting tracks to ever grace the nations dancefloors.
From start to finish this track is pure uplifting energy from the opening bars
"Let the whole world know", then the piano kicking in, then into the glorious vocals

Well and truly "Alive and Kicking"!!!

I've finally now got full access to my music collection and can't begin to tell you how relieved I am.

It feels like I've got part of my soul back!!

There was a moment back there when I thought I might have lost all the music I'd taken years to build up, but I'm pleased to report that all is "Alive and Kicking" and I now have full access to all my dance music collection.

This means that I can resume normal posting service to keep you all fully consumed with your regular dosage of PCCs (and also provide Adam with some support to keep the PCC blog rockin'!!)

Here's a really cheeky little number that I just couldn't resist.

I grew up loving Simple Minds, they were simply an awesome band and were right up there with U2 back in the 80's.

This track was one of there biggest hits (although just one of many classics they made). Here it's given a charming little remix, which contains the full power of the original version, but adds a little tinkly piano riff.

Ok it maybe have been a tad commercial for some of the nations more discerning dancefloors, but it's still a PCC in my mind.

More from the Magnum!!!

Breaking with tradition from our normal 1987 to 2000 era I bring you another track from a really exciting new producer called Magnum.
I often say on this blog that most of the dance music about nowadays doesn't compare to the stuff which we all loved and experience in those halcyon days of clubbing in the 87-2000 era, however it's refreshing to hear of new producers like Magnum who are turning out some quality tracks.
This one has some massive synth breakdowns and I'm sure will be massive in the clubs.
It's not house music as we know it, but it is very nice all the same!!

Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out!!

Big up to you all.

I've now got a new laptop and hence I'll be able to post tracks more frequently, but I've still not got access to all my music and hence still have over 10,000 tracks on my old hard drive which I need to get hooked up with my laptop. I'm in the process of getting that sorted, so hopefully nomal service will be resumed shortly.

A big shout to Adam who's been posing some fantastic tracks of late and has really kep the blog ticking over in my absence. Top man.

Here's coming back at you with one of my favourite DJ Combo's, remixers, producers, both of who have frequented the PCC blog in the past.
Chris & James productions and remixes were always of the very highest quality, their ability to drop the piano chords just at the right time and t change track tempo was always absolutely spot on.
Here's one of their least known productions (from back in 1995) and one that I can't believe that I've not already posted.
It uses their theme of choosing an effective sample and building the track around it, accompanied with those fantastic tempo changes and that beautiful piano it really is a top, top piece of dance music production.
All you have to do is "Tune in, turn on, drop out".
The sample  was made famous by Timothy Leary back in 1966 advocating the use of LSD to open your mind.

Grand Piano

A piano classic from '96 here, and one that can be attributed to the peerless Pete 'The Shaker' Bones, a man with a severe penchant for tinkling the Ivories. Released on Bones' own Ugly Bug label, the aptly-titled piano frenzy mix did a rather large amount of dancefloor damage, despite never receiving a commercial release.

Originally released in 1995, 'Good Life' gained so much momentum that a re-issue proved inevitable some two years later. 

Its popularity can generally be ascribed to achieving monumental ubiquity on the dancefloors of North West England, where Dancing Divaz' remixes were universally well generally pretty well received during that particular epoch. 

This track was absolutely bloody everywhere, utterly inescapable.
