As the biggest night of the year approaches I'm sure we're all feeling that tingle of anticipation as we await the fantastic delights of New Years Eve.
I'm sure we could all tell some fantastic tales and memories of great nights gone before.
This has been posted on the blog a few times before, but as it is my all time favourite track and was always massive on NYE and quite often played at 12.00am midnight, here it is again.
They don't come any better.
There's also no password - as that Christmas spirit continues!!
Enjoy!!

However, on this NYE I leave you with a further special post dedicated to one of my fellow bloggers and one of the best blogs out there http://acidted.wordpress.com/
Known affectionately as Acid Ted - (the term given to those who weren't really in the know when Acid House kicked off, but somewhat jumped on the bandwagon). This is a special request so please dig deep and provide your support.
Have a great NYE, the posts will keep coming in 2011.
Best regards, PCC
Now over to Acid Ted;
EXCLUSIVE ERROR OPERATOR MIX
Happy New Year to you. To get the new year off to a cracking start, I’m offering you the chance to get an exclusive mix from the marvellous but mysterious Error Operator. This mix is not available anywhere else. All you have to do is make a small donation to charity. Email me with the reply and I’ll send you the mix. It’s that simple.
You wil want this mix. It starts with the brilliant but brooding “Moth” by Burial and Four Tet before going on to mixes of Foals and Burial himself. It even has some Tinie Tempah bfore ending with James Blake and ultimately coming a full circle to a remix of Four Tet. This is a quiet evening with a bottle of fine red.
ACID TED MIX by Error Operator
1. Burial & Four Tet – Moth
2. Foals – Spanish Sahara (Mount Kimbie Remix)
3. Burial – Archangel (Boy 8-Bit Remix)
4. Gold Panda – Snow & Taxis (Throwing Snow Remix)
5. Tinie Tempah – Pass Out (SBTRKT Remix)
6. Andreya Triana – A Town Called Obsolete (Mount Kimbie Remix)
7. Break
8. Joy Orbison – Hyph Mongo
9. James Blake – CMYK
10. Four Tet – Love Cry (Joy Orbison Remix)
I’d like others to benefit from the time that Error Operator has put in. In particular, to raise money for research on brain tumours in children. Brain tumours are the commonest solid tumours in children in the UK and USA. More children now die from a brain tumour than any other childhood cancer. If you want a copy of the mix, here’s how to donate:
TO DONATE: Give directly to the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (UK) by donating here or Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (USA) here or to a children’s cancer charity in your own country. Once you have done so, you will get an emailed reply from them. Forward that email to me (acidtedblog@googlemail.com) and I will send you a link to the mix.
Please, please donate. How much you donate is up to you (£5 = US$7 / EUR5). If you need to know why these charities are so important, see my story here or little Thomas’ story here.
Finally, if any readers are bloggers themselves, could you please promote this mix on your sites. It’s in a good cause. Thank you. Email me with the link and I’ll send you a copy of the mix.
And my sincere thanks and gratitude to Error Operator for making this appeal possible.

Happy Christmas to one and all!!!
Happy Christmas to you all out there.
I sincerely hope that you have a good one.
Until now I've resisted posting some of my favourite "Indie dance" tracks , but feel the time is about right to unleash some of these monster tracks.
This is one of my faves by a group which were totally unique and very ahead of their time back in the day (there'll be more of their tracks posted in the future) .
This one dates back to 1990 and is a cover of an old Neil Young song.
The single/album version is my favourite, which contains beautiful vocals, a superb melody, flowing piano and that great chuggy indie dance beat.
The Weatherall remix is a true PCC, very chilled.
The sample "the DJ eases a spliff from his lyrical lips and smilingly orders cease" is one which went down in clubland history and was also used on Oakey's Goa Mix if I remember correctly.
P.S. In line with the Christmas spirit there are no passwords for these links.
Enjoy!!

Another piece of Chris and James magic!!!
Alright, people, it's been ages since I posted a Chris and James remix.
To be totally honest I thought I'd already posted this before, but I can't seem to see it on the blog.
Maybe it got taken down by DCMA - who knows??
Anyway here it is again, in all it's splendid glory.
As per usual it is a C&J remix masterpiece, it builds slowly and then takes off.
It contains some amazing little melodies, the vocal is very powerful and the key changes are out of this world.
I also heard from James recently who was sending some good feedback about the blog.
This one's for you fella.
Chris, if you're out there I haven't heard from you for a while buddy, so get in touch.
Enjoy people!!

Something a little bit tasty!!!
Now here's something a little bit special from back in 1995, which was then remixed and re-released in 2002.
It's another track from Beat Foundation - their 3rd on the blog to date.
It's a progressive little number that cascades into some wonderful piano melodies.
Be a bit patient with it, as it appears to be just plodding long, but it then builds into the vocals 5 mins in and then into a fantastic piano breakdown.
A really great track, absolutely perfect for dropping at the peak of the night.
Enjoy.

It's Raining Men - Hallelujah!!!
A huge gay anthem and a wonderful, wonderful uplifting track.
I remember hearing this in Paradise Factory, in Manchester and it absolutely took the roof off.
It was a truly fantastic clubbing memory.
Truly fantastic vocals by the wonderfully talented Martha Wash - gosh can that lady sing or what!!
Can you believe this track is 27 years old - amazing!! It still sounds great!!
These were the sort of tracks which dropped at the right moment, simply made your night.
Pure balearic bliss!!!

A great track with a Sting in the tail!!!
One of the great things about running this blog, is that you get requests for tracks which sometimes you haven't come across and then once you've hunted them down you realise just how good they are and also the fact that you wouldn't have found them if it wasn't for the blog.
This is the ethos behind this blog, I want to bring out those tracks again for those that know them, but forgot about them, those that probably have heard them, but can't quite remember what they were called and then those who have probably never heard of these tracks but are keen to listen to the tracks that for the last 20 years have made dance, house, balearic, old skool, club classic music the most emotional, touching music that was ever produced.
This one goes ou to Ben, who requested this track. Big respect to Dave for proving the link.
It's a good track and very much in the BiR type mode which we all love (although it doesn't quite peak like a BiR track).

Go on then - another BiR classic
BiR do their stuff again turning a very average Janet Jackson track into a true club classic.
I've run out of superlatives for the BiR team.
It also seems that my fellow bloggers out there also recognise them as the Numero Uno remixers of clubland.
If you've not heard this track, then download and have a listen.
Absolute quality!!!

Jo pap pa jo pap pa jo pap pa jo pap!!!!
Well it's goes summat like that!!
The Grand Piano track reminded me to post this old classic, which is a big fave of mine.
Here's the original version which is a true PCC.
This one is way old dating back to 1979 - I was only a young pup still in short trousers back then!!
I've also upped a version which is given a good make over by Todd Terry.
It retains all the bits which made the original great, but Mr Terry adds his usual crunchy beats.
It's an incredibly simple track, but very effective.
Enjoy!!!

Staying on the old classics vibe!!!
Now I know this became a bit overground back in 1989 and if my memory serves me right it may have also hit the Top 40.
(Shame on me posting Top 40 hits on the PCC blog).
All said and done they, it's a fantastic track.
In many ways it's more of a megamix, with so many samples and snippets thrown in.
Does anyone ever hear the riff for "Candido - Jingo" in there?
Well, that reminds me of another PCC to post.
Enjoy. "It's such a good vibration", "Tell us what you think about the Women's liberation?"
PS. it's a picture of a grand piano (apologies for stating the obvious!!)

3 minutes of pure genius!!!
Evening all, I hope you've all had a good week.
Here comes a fantastic old classic from way back in 1990.
This is pure genius and was absolutely massive back in the day.
I'm sure that many of you won't know it by the title, but as soon as you hear it you will.
I'll keep the suspense there.
Trust me you will love it!!

Enjoy the silence!!!
For those of you out there who loved the Progressive House sounds of the early 90's. this one will be right up your street.
It is very much like Leftfield in style and also similar in feel to the FSOL sound.
The track appears to be just progging along and then the piano kicks in at 2.54 and it just lifts the track up to PCC status.
A very simple, but equally stunning track.
Enjoy the silence!!

Feel the rhythm in the air!!!
Here's a quality piece of old skool for you!!
Total "hands in the air" piano anthem this one.
Typical of the tunes which were massive Up North in the early 90's.
Possibly a tad cheesy for the purists out there, but bloody effective.
Come "Feel the rhythm in the air"
Enjoy!!

Alright Peeps, Apologies for my lack of posting recently, things have been hectic.
Although I see Rich has been looking after you with some belting posts. Nice one fella!!
This one is a true PCC and one I've been meaning to post for a while.
FSOL also made great tracks under the alias of Metropolis and Humanoid (plus many others).
However, this is probably their finest hour.
A beautiful ethereal piece of floaty progressive house from 1991.
Always loved the line
"Doh, hoh, ho, oh, oh, Yeah"
This was huge back in the day and although it was a track I dearly loved, it was one which I always found difficult to dance to.
Enjoy all the same.

Fresh From My Shed
I mentioned last week that I had a few more Hurley gems tucked away in my shed. This is another one of them. I am no big fan of Mick Hucknall - mostly because I remember him wandering round the Hac dressed like a ponce. Anyhow this tune has been given a touch of Hurley magic.
Simply Red - Something's Got Me Started (Hurley's House Mix)

Going Out
I'm a big fan of early Italo House. This was a big big tune in 1990 and one I have very fond memories of.
Alex Lee (feat. Extacy) - I'm Gonna Go Out
A Little Bit More
A fantastic tune by a great artist. Kym Sims collaborated with Steve "Silk" Hurley on this banging tune. They are also responsible for Kim's better known "Too Blind To See". In my opinion - this is a better track.
